Not mine, but I found a Sears Picture Baseball in this lot... Newb Seller, so beware. If I didn't have this one, I would still take a shot though. Nice and cheap on a Sunday morning. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 200426719156

Sent PM for Official Frogger and Rabit Transit.

It is him, which is funny really because he is just doing his Joker voice from Batman. Throw that on the pile too! It is a good game, just not great. It's nice to see a game from a new company and for a first effort, it's impressive. I look forward to seeing them do other things. And you are right, the game is great eye candy.

It does get better as it goes on. The first 2 hours is a buttong mashing crapfest though. It is definitely just a poor God of War clone. Then it becomes a poor to fair Panzer Dragoon clone. Only then does it become a fair to good Zelda clone. I hear it also becomes a Portal clone later on. I just finished the third dungeon and still don't have a horse, but it's not like I'm overly excited to get one. I guess because of the fact that it rips off such great games, and mixes them together fairly well it is enjoyable. As a GameFly game, it is a great time killer until Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock 2 come out at then end of the month, but if I dropped $60 on it, I would be much more critical I think. (Other games it rips off slightly are Shadow of the Collossus and one of the creatures looks like the eyeball baddies from Eye of the Beholder.) The funny part is that the ripoffs are not subtle at all. They are amazingly blatent. The fighting looks and acts (not as good control-wise though) just like God of War right down to the orbs. The only difference is that blue is money and green is health. Souls in treasure boxes too. They come flying right into you while you run just like God of War too. You even upgrade your weapons just about the same way. Panzer Dragoon? Same exact control scheme. It might as well be a mission pulled directly from the game. Zelda? Your first weapon? A boomerang. Seriously. When you get to an important treasure chest in a dungeon, it even plays a little jingle a la Zelda. Grapling hook? Check. Strong fists / gloves? Check. Added weapon from dungeon pivotal to beating the boss at the end? Check. I don't know if it's a loving tribute to some of the best games of all time or a blatant ripoff but the game is just good enough to enjoy. I will definitely paly through to the end.

I will rake the box if still available. Will pm when I get home in about an hour.

I LOVE Carneyvale. Really well done and very addicting.

Loved the first one and will be all over the second. Last time Bioshock and Mass Effect came out at the same time too. They were the big Fall games that year. They are great to play together as they are two completely different styles of play. Feel like a brilliant FPS? Bioshock it is. Or you could just delve back into one of the greates RPG's of all time with Mass Effect. I can't wait. I don't know if my wife and kids will see me for the month of February. I guess I will catch up with them in March.

The See Monster and Phantompanzer are PAL and made by Bit Corp. Still very cool though!
-
There are some Corecovision games mixed in too.
-
Konami Marine Wars I'm just too cheap. Coleco - Berenstain Bears Atari - I just need NTSC Obelix but that isn't counting Coke Wins Avalon Hill - Out of Control (don't see this happening any time soon...)

I am now awesome!

It is much better than the first one. You can skip the repetitive bits rather easily, but there is a whole new element of gameplay. You have a Villa that you can buy art for, store armor in etc. There are Prince of Persia 'tombs' to raid which give you a very cool gift if you collect them all. There are 'glyphs' that you can find which put you into puzzle mode. Fun picture hunts, jigsaw puzzles, codebreaking puzzles. Leonardo DiVinci is your friend. Bring him Codex pages and he will invent new weapons for you, improve your armor, etc. I am not usually a completionist, but this game is so fun that I want to find every little secret. Yes, the races are still there, but only one or two per city. Yes, there are Assasination side quests that get a bit repetitive, but you don't need to do them. The main story however, is brilliant and has no repetition at all. I would put this game right next to Arkham Assylum and let them duke it out for game of the year.

That is all.

Are Atari commons not worth anything anymore?
Red 5 replied to Parrothead's topic in Auction Central
The week after Christmas is the worst time to sell on Ebay (or any auction site). Unless you got an Ebay gift card for Christmas nobody is buying. I got a NIB Kid Vid Smurfs Save the day for $100 a couple years ago right after Xmas. Nobody is looking. So yes, if you are a buyer, last week was the fun week. -
The funny part is that the Wizard is played by my high school best friend. He did the music for the games and they dressed him up to play the Wizard in those abominations. He now makes IPhone games. Fish Food Frenzy, Football Golf and some others. (Sputnik Games)

Ocarina of Time should make you fall in love, pull out the N64 and start there. If that doesn't make you fall in love, nothing will. (Majora's Mask is good too, but Ocarina is a masterpiece.) A Link to the Past on SNES will make you feel the "Old School Love". A great game and still very playable. This seems like the true beginning of the modern Zelda games. Twighlight Princess on the Wii is brilliant. While a bit different, you shouldn't skip out on Windwaker. Different style, but still really fun and has that great Zelda feel. My favorite Zelda games have always been on handelds though. I love Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages for GBC. I am playing Spirit Tracks now and love it as well. Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass were also great. You really can't lose with Zelda games unless you want to pull out a CD-i. Avoid those like the plague. I would also save the NES Zelda games for when you want to feel nostalgic. The two NES games feel really dated now and are tough to play through. You will still want to play them "just to see" but I wouldn't spend hours playing them all the way through.

$166.50 shipped for Custer's Revenge loose!
Red 5 replied to homerwannabee's topic in Auction Central
The powers of insanity if you ask me......... Definite insanity, but it was the only one available on Ebay right after the Howard Stern stuff came out about it. There were some news stories about the game after it was mentioned and the hype took off. I bet the next few will sell high to the bidders who didn't get that one. The hype will die and you will be able to get it again for $30 - $40 just like the old days. -
If it kills GameStop, then so be it. You know, if you have a GameFly account, and you get a new release game when it comes out, technically, it's new. If you want to keep it, you can. After a month or two the game drops to around $35 - $40 to keep. They mail you the case and manual for free. That still trumps everyone, even WalMart. (Did I mention I love GameFly? And no, I don't work there or own stock...)

The power of Howard Stern... http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/154359-custers-revenge-mentioned-on-howard-stern-today/ -
I am a proud owner of a Galaga Cabinet. Had it since 2003. I play the hell out of it and have yet to get past Level 40 (I refuse to cheat). I can't even imagine someone getting into the 100's never mind 255! The game gets so fast and the game can change so quickly. I have had 5 ships in reserve in higher levels. On mistake and the next thing you know it's game over. I have to agree with most here. In 1999 there were barely any arcades left. Most bars had trivia machines instead of arcade games. However, the places that still had games usually had a Galaga.

Having worked as a writer for Howard Stern and having appeared on his show several times, are you hurling that insult at me? For the record, I think Sal's a jackass. But I have respect for everyone else on the show, both those I've worked with and those I haven't. Bill I think it is pretty damn cool you wrote for the show. When I was in 7th grade, my mother would listen in the car when he was on WNBC 660. We only heard very little as she would turn it off in disgust most of the time. (Yet every ride home, he was back on again.) When I got my own car at 16, he was on K-Rock in the late 80's and I have been listening every morning since. If I may pry, when were you with the show? Any good stories? Is Fred as cool as I think he is?

Looks like it got some people interested in Custer's Revenge too. The only loose copy on Ebay has a $80 price on it so far with 2+ days to go!

Good for you, we all have our opinions and I was just expressing mine. I assert that I think Howard Stern and his cohorts are just perverse radio shock jocks and really not funny. *poof - ignored* GideonsDad Why are you ignoring people for liking a radio host? I hate Rush Limbaugh but if you like him, well that's just fine. It's what makes the world go round there Mister Judgey! Like the Yankees, half the fun of being a Stern fan is that so many people hate them. I love the spewing of hatred. It amazes me to no end and makes me laugh. There are going to be people in this life that do not share your opinion. You should laugh more as it was blatently obvious Bill was joking. He even put on a "hey look! I'm joking" icon. You may have seen them before. They look like this. In retrospect, perhaps he should have used the winky one, but I think he is probably okay with being poofed. As I think I am going to be poofed next can you do it gently? Oh, and Sal does suck.
