it's not that because for .atr i'm basically using the same thing as unocart does (altirra os patched by fjc)
-
thanks! i quickly went through the first 2 pages (48 files), 3 didn't work using avgcart which isn't that bad but also isn't too great because if half of them didn't work, the chance of stumbling on a fix would be greater
-
it's working in 800xl/xe, 130xe i have one report that it works in 800, none saying the opposite (you can't close the lid because it's too tall) it won't fit 1200xl unless you use extender or remove it from shell, i have no confirmation that it works this way works fine with u1mb, not sure about cpu upgrades (65c816) but let's consider it officially incompatible because i wouldn't be fixing that anytime soon (if it works, great, if it doesn't, oh well)
-
great, thanks! btw, what's the ratio of working/non-working so far?
-
does anyone have a collection of .atr files that are working with unocart? i'd need some test files but i have no means to check the compatibility with unocart thanks

i just had to build an unbricker to send out because one cart was bricked during update yesterday (user error if i understand it right), chances of bricking should be minimal if you follow the instructions but just in case, if you have basic soldering skills (solder 5 wires to pcb), you can order these two items (should be under $4 shipped) and build one instead of buying xilinx platform cable (which is quite expensive) or shipping the cart back to me for unbricking (which is probably also not cheap especially from USA) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ESP8266-ESP-12-ESP12-WeMos-D1-Mini-Module-Wemos-D1-Mini-WiFi-Development-Board-Micro-USB/32688079351.html https://www.aliexpress.com/item/5PCS-1-25mm-Pitch-Male-Connector-Wire-15CM-Long-28AWG-2-3-4-5-6-7/32787305004.html(6P version) i'll provide the instructions and what to flash to esp8266 (via usb) so it can act as unbricker (it will configure fpga so the update procedure can be ran again and flash chip reprogrammed)

you can attach or pm me some non-working .atr files, although i won't look into them until i rewrite the atr support but test files are always useful (i'm especially interested in those .atr files that do work with unocart but don't with avgcart) (i assume you also tried to hold option key to disable basic when trying those .atr files)
-
.atr file is currently being loaded into upper half of sram before emulation starts (so it's limited to 512kB), it was just a quick test i started rewriting .atr support to read/write sectors on demand so it should be only limited by 16 bit sector index as for r-type 8 clash, i'm not yet sure what's going on there (if altirra hardware reference manual is correct and it is only mapped to $d5b8-$d5bf), i need to look into that are you sure it only affects .xex files?

this one should be way better http://dzi.n.cz/8bit/armsid/index_en.php

works after fixing .car header crc Rockford MASTERTRONIC.zip
-
well, it's most likely doable, the question is whether it'd would solve any real issue or it'd be just nice to have (i can't decide that myself since i'm atari noob)
-
not sure if that's related but fjc's IDE PDM player has currently file size limitation (due to sector table it builds) so be sure to experiment with shorter tracks first

1. backspace to go to the parent directory 2. there's probably some theoretical limit but nothing you should be hitting during normal usage 3. SDHC cards up to 16GB has been tested working, i'm not sure about larger SDXC ones (i don't have one to test and frankly, what would one put on it anyway to use the capacity?), if somebody has one, let me know arrows to navigate the list, with ctrl jump to beginning/end of page/list backspace is parent dir enter and letters choose item ? shows version esc disables cart and reboots shift-s enables IDE emulation and reboots shift-ctrl-u starts update

i found out yesterday that 0012 doesn't work with U1MB's PBI BIOS so here's 0013 so for U1MB equipped machines, you can use SHIFT-S and then use internal side loader or sdx for standard machines, you can use these .car files, one will load side loader, the other sdx (same rom, just different cart types to emulate side2 switch position) http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/s2car.zip these .car files won't work with u1mb unless you disable pbi bios (or hard drive? or internal sdx? i have no idea, ask fjc ) because otherwise u1mb will disable the cart also if you enable pbi bios and hard disk, you need to disable "atr swap button" otherwise u1mb won't boot avgcart (so you won't even get to selector)

no, it does not fit any original atari cart shell as it's considerably larger (designed for probably the only available cart shell that one can buy in quantity that fits at least some (most?) ataris)
-
no search yet but it's one of the features that must be implemented sooner or later no ETA though

digikey has some although they're more expensive than what mouser had https://www.digikey.com/products/en/integrated-circuits-ics/memory/774?k=S29GL01GT&k=&pkeyword=S29GL01GT&FV=ffe00306%2C4037d0&quantity=0&ColumnSort=0&page=1&stock=1&pageSize=25 also farnell http://de.farnell.com/cypress-semiconductor/s29gl01gt11tfv020/flash-memory-1gbit-tsop-56/dp/2768061?st=S29GL01GT

enclosure is roughly 90x68mm also there is no joystick support because that's still on todo list one more thing, although i do slap some sticker on the cart that i put together in 5 mins in some drawing program and printed on some sticker paper i had laying around, it's basically "this side up" guide because i'm sure it will peel itself off if you'd stare at it long enough so please no complaints about it as it's not an advertised "feature"
-
if i didn't make a mistake, all 30 are taken this thread is therefore closed please check whether your nick is on the list linked in the first post, i will contact people when their cart is ready for shipping thanks
-
I can't use something i don't have so zero or close to it. I promised to deliver 30 carts so that's what I'll be working on. Also there is quite some work on firmware pending so those are my current priorities and time is limited.
-
max is 1MB, i believe unocart is 128kB
-
i will be sending messages to people with payment details when I'm ready to ship their cart within a few days.

Hi, as stated in the other thread, use this thread to (pre)order AVGCart. The current offer is limited to 30 carts, I plan to ship 10-15 next week (if nothing goes wrong at the last minute), the rest in 3-4 weeks (I ran out of some parts with longer delivery time). Price is 35 EUR + 5 EUR shipping + paypal fees (use either send money to friends and family or add the fees manually). More info about the cart in this thread http://atariage.com/forums/topic/278212-avgcart/or in this nice video by ndary For technical question please use the other thread. Just to make sure it's clear, due to form factor and shell used, it will not fit Atari 800 or 1200XL (at least not when in the supplied shell). Order status will be tracked in this file since I won't be able to edit this thread. http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/orders.txt After all the orders are shipped, a new thread will be started if there will be demand for more. Thanks

new firmware update is available http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/avgcart-0012.zip not much changes from 0010, some compatibility fixes and (S)IDE emulation IDE emulation can be currently enabled by - shift-s will reboot with IDE registers in cctl area enabled and no cart mapped - useful for u1mb machines, internal sdx and side loader should be able to access sd card as if it was IDE device - http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/side2car.zip- booting this .car will load side loader with emulation enabled, currently probably useful to try stuff like PDM IDE emulation will be improved later, possible making it a toggle switch in selector so any cart or xex will be able to use it (or at least those bankswitching types where there is no collision with SIDE registers) also be sure to backup your sd card if you're going to try the write support thanks to Philsan, Vyper68 and ndary for testing and feedback and to flashjazzcat for valuable info
