i will create a separate preorder thread (probably tomorrow) because this is getting a bit out of hand (it's also my fault that i didn't reply to every interest that i was not making any list although i also didn't ask for interest except for those batches i had ready at those times)
-
can you share a link where can they be bought?
-
i believe 2nd batch had firmware 0007, latest is 0010 (http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/avgcart-0010.zip) as i've stated multiple times, ATR support is just a bonus and its compatibility is probably low (you simply can't reliably emulate a SIO device via cart port) EDIT: "?" shows the current version
-
currently the source is not public, mostly due to the fact that's it's a horrible mess i'd ashamed to publish i might publish it when i'm done working on the features and have time to clean it up i have no problem to discuss the technical details in the meantime there are still pending issues (e.g. my 8gb fat32 card doesn't work in side loader for some odd reason, 2gb fat16 does), maybe during the weekend if i'm able to fix the issues by then

bad apple works, atari blast goes into black screen when new game is started what firmware do you have in your u1mb? did you try to play with its settings to see if it makes any difference?
-
interesting, i've tried all those attached games and they worked for me (although on 800XE) i will probably have to move u1mb to 800XL i'm wondering , this version of bomb jack doesn't work either? Bomb Jack (320 XE).xex
-
you can try this update to see whether it fixes reported xex files and issues on your expanded XL instructions are in the zip http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/avgcart-0010.zip regarding .atr support, most issues are probably due to game/program either overwriting ram under kernel or reenabling rom and by doing that, removing the patches needed to redirect disk reads to cart .atr support is just a bonus since it probably can't be done properly via cart slot
-
thanks for all the testing you did, i wish i had your patience just a quick update: games that already worked in v9: Great Escape Heli in the Caves MazezaM Same Game after some fixes the rest seems to be working now except for Ms. Bulimia Gangsters and Superfly are .atr

one day Altirra's "Break at EXE Run address" option that somehow reenables (or i keep forgetting i do that myself) will stop fooling me, i promise
-
Blah Blah, Fairy Castle and Great Escape crash for me in altirra so i either have some altirra config problem or there is some issue with them EDIT: ok, they're not, my bad
-
last night i found out that the issues with large xex files on xl(?) are most likely caused by timing issues that are somehow amplified when extended memory is in use (as i'm learning, atari timings are basically a suggestion, not really a spec so there's a wide variance mostly due to how crappy sally version one has (if i got that right)) my primary testing machine (800xe) is probably not really suitable as a reference and by trying to fix some visual glitches on it, i most likely made things worse on other machines i have a firmware version that should help on machines that had issues, i'm just waiting for a feedback that it doesn't break anything too horribly (if you're brave enough, i can give it to you to test it)
-
so was this 800xl with u1mb? (they work for me on 800xe, i'm trying to find the pattern)
-
i don't know, i'm out of pcbs currently, i've ordered some more and meanwhile i'm waiting for more feedback therefore i'm currently not doing any lists or promising anything to anyone
-
great. apparently i'm the only who can't get it to crash sigh
-
i expect .atr support to be not really great due to the method used and i don't think there's much that can be done about it there still might be issues with xex loader so i'm interested in non-working files so i can try to improve that btw, please try Bomb Jack (320kB) for me, i'm interested whether it loads for you or dies while loading thanks
-
ok, the issue seems to be that the atarimax 1MB should have last bank selected initially which wasn't mentioned in cart.txt i was using as reference should be fixed in the next firmware update, all three files work now
-
i have three versions of space harrier (atarimax 1MB) Space Harrier (2011-07-05)(Hutt, Chris)(GB)[!].car Space Harrier (2011-07-05)(Hutt, Chris)(GB)[f for older cartridges Tucker, Steve 2011-07-23][!].car Space Harrier (2011-08-30)(Hutt, Chris)(GB)[!][optimized].car first one doesn't work with avgcart, the rest does i'll put in my todo to check what's different, could be related to the change i did in 0005 - fixed type 42 (Atarimax 1 MB Flash cartridge) (bank is also switched on reads, seems to help with certain carts) all three versions here - http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/tmp/space_harrier.rar
-
OS.XEX can be found in http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/avgcart-0007.zip, just copy to it to the root of sd card please attach or link non-working files, i will have a look thanks
-
for anyone that has sd card problem, make sure that it's fat32 formatted and if it still doesn't work, please post the photo of the card i can try to improve the compatibility if there are issues but i need to be able to reproduce that locally
-
use SDHC card formatted as fat32 there might be some incompatibilities with some certain sd cards but i'm unable to get my hands on any that doesn't work (and i tried) there was also a report of a non-working micro sd card which turned out to be micro to standard sd adapter issue (worked with a different one) what's the card manufacturer and model?
-
fun fact: it takes less time for a package to get to the USA than to Poland (which is a neighboring country)
-
it's version 0007, it was 0005 in the first batch i think http://avgcart.tmp.sk/files/atari/changelog.txt but it doesn't matter since it's upgradeable from sd card
-
that should be closing this batch (xxl, wemichener, Firedawg)
-
5 carts shipped today (Philsan, jefffulton, fuls, lemiel, tf_hh)
