  1. example of an invalid entry (duplicate number, incompatible machine): 400800
  2. example of a valid entry: 400800
  3. Rules: 1. You need to make a post in this thread containing two things: - a number between 0 and 999999 - a photo taken by you showing (at least) your finger pointing to a cartridge port of your Atari machine that is compatible with AVGCART (sounds silly but I'd like the winner to actually make use of the cart) 2. The number you pick cannot be the same as one in any previous valid entry 3. In case of duplicate entries by the same person, only the first valid entry will be taken into account 4. Entries deadline is December 23rd 2020, 23:59 CET 5. The cart (and SIO cable) will go to the one whose number is closest to the first number of "100 numbers from 1 to 1'000'000" group for December 24th, published on https://avkg.com/en/daily-random/ and will be shipped free of charge Have fun!

@Probabilitydragon let's move it here so we're not off topic, bruce lee atr/atx now boots, it was reading sectors that are beyond the disc capacity and that wasn't working very well it'll be fixed in the next firmware
  5. someone actually reported a few weeks ago that bruce lee doesn't work (supposedly even atr version) and i have completely forgotten about it :/ i'll look into that, thanks for reminding me

    AVGCART

frankly i haven't touched it since i made that video, i'd like to get back to it sometime in december and release some beta

i don't have fujinet (it's on my long list of things to build) but i don't see a reason why it couldn't work
  8. let me be the second thread hijacker, if anyone has an extra 1050 drive select switch for sale, let me know, thanks

traitors everywhere you look! yes, i'm a bit behind on answering non-support related messages, mails and whatnot, i'll try to catch up during the weekend, sorry about that
  10. i'm sure there's a better way but here's at least something to start with http://a8.fandal.cz/search.php?name=&butt_details_x=x&search=320xe

unbricker will just configure fpga and you will need to run update (ctrl-shift-u) again to program the flash chip so 0014 is fine for that, the version on the card matters

i'm sure it could be done, it just needs a research to find some tool that could be used and figure out how to wire it (you still need a jst cable or solder cables directly to connector pins) there's at least one guy in poland that has an unbricker, i just need to recall who it is, that could be also a way EDIT: it was @pajero_pn
  13. just don't get it for non-ECI 65XE, i've recently learnt that for some reasons known only to atari, its cart port is too narrow(?) so shell doesn't fit, ECI 65XE should be fine

erm, i basically said i didn't think it was worth pursuing because while it would fix some issues*, it would most likely create new (recessed buttons, micro sd card that is flush with the shell and pain to remove, ...) *fun fact, there was at least one guy that on multiple occasions claimed he'd never buy avgcart because his 800 lid wouldn't close and he would never be happy with that, he said he would rather wait for cart B to come out (which was weird because my educated guess was that cart B wouldn't be any better in this regard) so he preordered cart B and later when it was finally revealed that he won't closing his lid, he was suddenly like "no big deal" roughly at that time i stopped believing that 800's lid is really a huge problem that needs a fix

no idea, i'll survey a few people to figure out something not too low (so people who are capable of building one will do that) and not too high (it's just a stupid cable after all) and hopefully figure out something (anyone who has a opinion about a fair price, let me know)

frankly, i'd be happy if they lasted me for years because that'd mean people just make their own cables and i don't have to make any more 1200xl is a problem since it needs a sharp 90deg bend right at the jst connector due to cart tunnel, it can be done but this batch has heatshrink tube supporting the connector for easier insertion so it can't be bent that close to connector (but is even anyone using avgcart in 1200xl?) sure i did, back in february or so my current conclusions are pros: - the lid on 400/800 can be closed, fits into 1200xl even without the alternative 3d printed shell cons: - that shell was made 5mm taller than the xegs original meaning no buttons/card sticking above the top of the shell if you want to close the lid (with shield) - would need a separate firmware build - too expensive unless i get at least 101pcs neutral: - most likely micro sd cards would have to be used i still don't understand the 800 use case fully, if you want to close your lid, opening it will turn off the atari (i'm assuming most don't have that switch overridden) so you effectively have no access to cart buttons i'm still open to ideas but that 5mm thing broke the deal for me back then

after making twenty-something cables, i hate myself for coming up with that idea
  18. I believe Sikor's shell should also fit 1200XL and these days it's probably the only shell that's easily available and meets these requirements Other than that, you need to 3D print
  19. welcome to his ignore list
  20. Prusa has been sending Haribo for years with his 3D printers, that's probably the most known brand that's sending sweets with orders

put (or rename) ATX or CAS file on the card, if you can see it, the cable is detected and should use sio for atr loading (unless started using shift-return) also when atr is being loaded via sio, you should hear standard beeps from speakers

this is not correct, the photo was just showing two possible ways to mount a connector on any pcb (the one you are talking about was if you didn't want to cut a hole into the shell)
