can you explain what scenario you have in mind? 8kb right slot cart (21) should be supported, plus you can concat left + right cart into one 16kb .car file
-
i just want to make sure that i'm not passing misinformations, is the following true? are there any other issues not covered? 65XE, 800XL/XE, 130XE, 600XE, XEGS - no issues 800 - cart too tall, lid can't be closed, lid switch has to be triggered by some other means 400, 1200XL - cart too wide, needs to be removed from the shell ATR emulation needs at least 64kB RAM
-
as philsan wrote, esc does the first atr emulation is just a bonus feature that has a limited compatibility and therefore shouldn't be really taken into account when comparing features and no, you can't currently use atr and cart emulation at the same time
-
nope, it wouldn't fit, completely different form factor
-
is it from china? it looks like a remarked chip in which case it could be anything inside (including real r6532p)
-
thanks, i'll try that

i'm playing with the custom device functionality and i noticed that i'm getting doubled requests to device server on reads if the instruction is being stepped which is problematic in my scenario i'm assuming it's because altirra is "prefetching" the value at the moment i get to the instruction to display stuff like this (108805: 68, 26) A=FF X=00 Y=01 S=F9 P=33 ( ZC) 0778: AD 20 D5 LDA $D520 [$D520] = $00 the second request is when the instruction is actually executed is it possible to somehow disable this? (closing console isn't enough) thanks

that's pretty horrible, i was aware of .ds_store and similar crap but i didn't know it's doing this for every file on fat32 ok, i'll probably add skipping hidden files in the future update apple...
-
actually that sounds like a bug (unless they're directories), can you make me a photo of the screen showing them?
-
possibly related https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/304131/no-partition-scheme-option-when-erasing-a-usb-disk-in-macos-high-sierra
-
ok, so if you're using OSX, make sure you're not partitioning ("erasing") your card using GPT (GUID_partition_scheme) but use the standard "scheme" (FDisk_partition_scheme) use "diskutil list" to check how's the card partitioned
-
it should work unless it's formatted as exFAT, i don't know what osx disk utility defaults to if you're able to send me a compressed image of a card that doesn't work, i could look into that for ATR files you need OSXEX file (included in zip with firmware update) in the root of your sd card (there's also AVFPLAY for AVF video files, should go into root as well if needed) whole _AVGCART directory is just an extra for some advanced functionality and it's not needed for avgcart to function properly
-
not getting past "Mounting SD card" means that the cart is either unable to communicate with the sd card or it cannot find a partition it can use (fat16/32) make sure the card is inserted all the way in (this happened a few times) and if possible, check whether you have a single fat32 partition on the card (i don't know how osx formats sd cards by default but i don't remember anyone complaining about it)

if anyone is interested in current availability/pricing, just PM me this old thread should finally die since it was relevant only for a one page, can any moderator lock it please, thanks

1200XL - How to ensure AVGCart PCB is right side up?
tmp replied to Xebec's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
assuming carts plug into 1200xl with label facing up, the side with big chips and AVGCART text should be also facing up -
well, congrats to skr! (PM me your shipping address) thanks to all who participated and merry xmas!

just to prevent confusion, my "closed" post marks the time when deadline has passed i'm not sure what timezone that random number site lives in but eventually the numbers for 24th will be published and anyone can figure out the winner
-
just a reminder that your chance to try your luck in the giveaway ends today
-
example of an invalid entry (duplicate number, incompatible machine): 400800
-
example of a valid entry: 400800
-
Rules: 1. You need to make a post in this thread containing two things: - a number between 0 and 999999 - a photo taken by you showing (at least) your finger pointing to a cartridge port of your Atari machine that is compatible with AVGCART (sounds silly but I'd like the winner to actually make use of the cart) 2. The number you pick cannot be the same as one in any previous valid entry 3. In case of duplicate entries by the same person, only the first valid entry will be taken into account 4. Entries deadline is December 23rd, 23:59 CET 5. The cart will go to the one whose number is closest to the first number of "100 numbers from 1 to 1'000'000" group for December 24th, published on https://avkg.com/en/daily-random/ and will be shipped free of charge to the winner Have fun!

if it's xex or car, you can rename it AUTORUN.XEX/CAR and put it into _AVGCART dir in the sd card root
