Heaven/TQA replied to phuzaxeman's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Ah Jason... ok. I told the X guys to whipe Cosine from the greetings list in our C64 demo -
Thx. In MADS there is source of the depacker routine so changes can made there and Tebe might update Superpacker. Btw I just packed my SillyVenture stuff right in this morning with super packer so still in use.

Heaven/TQA replied to Mclaneinc's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Cool but never heard of it. -
Realised that new behavior but what is the best setup then with WUDSN Ide because now I need to start Altirra 2x (standing in debug mode)

So called portal engine coded by Fox. Maps designed with duke nukem engine editor for the build engine, me made maps with mapster. It supports doors, elevators, jumping etc. quite cool and works best indoor levels. Its part of Numen source code package. In the make file you can define if you want to build the stand alone version. It does even let RAM left for game. Last time I looked into it and it fits into 32k.

Could Avery not simply port the excellent 2600 version?

ALTERNATE REALITY -THE CITY - MUSIC RECREATED - Thoughts?
Heaven/TQA replied to Jace Hall's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Strange... I still can sing along with the lyrics.... it was so immersive game even City had no quest except to survive. -
My last JHV was around when hard releases joyride... so somewhere between 1994-1997. I followed the hardware projects here at AA and magazine and had expected that pokeymax and anticx would win, interesting.

Great! And me thinking of using more dithering need to peek into the source.

New game port in the works: Laser Squad
Heaven/TQA replied to mariuszw's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Ah good. Thought myself of porting some games to VBXE. -
yeah I know what you mean... I got my NES Pi, Pi with RetroArch, SNES Mini and will get PSX Mini... basement is full with reotro hardware... but still nothing can beat CRT+retro consoles... (my 1084 serves well so far...). I like to have the 800 XL (recently switched on again... nice nice machine compared to the 130XE) and my 800... sometimes I simply type on the keyboard and open the cart bay.... lovely machine, too.

Nothing can beat real hw.... got yesterday my first SEGA Mega Drive.... SeeeeegAaaa

I know where MK is coming from in terms of unfinished proof of concepts which led in his opinion into a dead end. But we dont know if it was lack of time or interest why those projects stopped... I tend to say time and interest of coder.

Millionaire - winner of the ABBUC SW Contest 2018
Heaven/TQA replied to MaPa's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
High res with color always appreciated. And me puzzles just looking at the screenshot of the title screen to see how you did that large part of blue or black -
And you MK seems sometimes like a politician who can get no fame except for being the devil advocate just to get into the news... even not coded 3rd piece of code except some multiple choise basic game and some networking schiffeversenken all done back in 80s or 90s...

Copper can and Blitter can... not sure though if all restricted to chip mem.

Avery... one thing which pops into mind when coding vbxe software... I might missed many powerful debug features but is there a way of single step the VBXE, too? I mean I can use breakpoints and output eg .vbxe_bll but when you have chained thousands of bcbs I was thinking that there is a way to debug it in line with cpu? Ok. More precisely single step a bcb not only a chain.

Dump var values in Altirra debugger
Heaven/TQA replied to Heaven/TQA's topic in Atari 5200 / 8-bit Programming
Thx! -
How can I easily trace valus to console window? I tried the ;##trace x = %d db(x) Is that correct? Dont want to use breakpoints because I need to trace thousands of vAlues... and output should be hex. Or better into an txt file Any ideas?
