Looks good. I always wondered about the a8 sprites... the enemies always looked corrupt to me on the cart. Was it just the pirate copies by Glen or in original?
-
Yup. Never liked it on ST either... not Arcade.

New version of ATARI 8 bit emulator released!
Heaven/TQA replied to alpental's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I guess Avery, atari800, Atari++ set the bar... but like the simplicity of Xformer and time warp. so we should not be that negative but I guess Altirra got us in a mood that not cycle exact emulation is bad (which it is imho) -

Ok then I take the accid test and put my fingers in the wounds. You are right my statement could be misinterpreted. Sorry if I did. -

Regarding attractive launcher... thats exactly what Cloanto offers with their Amiga and C64 emulators... But a dev never would use that... So the target is for the ppl who not want to friggle around with an emu and with firmware and other settings thanks to Atari versitalie hardware... You know... novice user might not even remember load*,8,1 or pressing OPTION while booting Etc... But in the end of the day its an emulator in the core and failing the accid Tests is a no go... sorry. Its like releasing a new mobile phone OS... you have to keep up with the pack and not say yeah 99,5% is correct. And honestly Avery pointed finger in the wound... I mean he mentioned classics... -

Haha... I really love god cop.... excellent! -
Psst... dont mention VBXE

well... my idea was born of debugging some case... and that quick save thing is not so convinient than my "jog wheel" or VHS approach... imho it would be some nice more intuitive "looking whats going on"... say ah here the bug appears... then travel back in realtime and again looking closer etc... until you "see" whats the reason... that was my idea...

One more wishlist feature: Time travel (warp mode backwards) would be nice to have at some points.... or do we have single step back?

New version of ATARI 8 bit emulator released!

Yeah. I dont want to downplay the emu. Its like snes mini.... comfortable but I never would like to use it for development if you know what I mean. But the core needs to be par to the others in the wild. I guess I will have a look over the weekend. Otherwise you get questions about why is this not working or has glitches while others not etc... And I vote for warp mode back in time for Altirra -

Ok. Xformer in the past was my first emulator which runs reasonable fast on a win95 laptop. And it was the only way at those days to get the Roms. I like the consumer approach but I havent tested it so what about all those new games? Like the ones using more RAM. What about space harrier, stunt car racer etc? Stereo pokey? Etc etc. its nice to see caverns of Mars demoed or Astrroids but well thats 1980 stuff... For the consumer Approach I dont see a need of a debugger. It reminds me like the Cloanto C64 and Amiga emulators. Btw that result of the acid test was a little shock as I would have expected being a lot better. In 2018 with Averys work and Docs available. Time travel mode is very nice and would be nice to have in Altirra even for us Devs as it convenient instead of watching histories in debugger.... but thats another story -
My cart says copyright 1979 while boxart 1980.

Last Ninja Theme has been burnt into my brain.... -
Jesus what a thread... I would taken the disk version and put some cart header on it done... or did I oversee some special of the cart version? Having no Makros I have to say Mac/65 rules and even Atari MakroAssembler Cart

To Avery: thanks to my Turbo Freezer debugger I might found another VBXE emu bug. In XDL Altirra interprets x3 as wide screen while real hw switched back to narrow wide. Real hw 0 narrow 1 normal 2 wide And 3 is narrow again while 3 Altirra remains in wide. Core 1.26. Havent checked core 1.24.

Patch the stock OS with faster FP routines

Wasnt the self test not an instore demo? I felt like magician typing in BYE and select the sound test -
Me trying to get a cart done But the 320xe mem expansion was a dream for me. Simply plug n play, same with turbo freezer. I am just inprocess if using all hardware I have at home and I did not used my flash carts... so thats at the moment on the list as they offer instant access and no loading.

Never saw the NES version but thats quite close to the arcade? Why are the sounds so close, too? https://youtu.be/KqRv4N_NK7s

@Rybags your Moon Cresta 7800 to VBXE port.... how did you handle the "zones" and Maria stuff? as source of Galaga is available of the 7800 version... what about do a VBXE one?
-
Just to clarify. I like NRVs calculations... as it shows that yeah we can do it on a8 just use soft sprites just leads to that memory constraints. Must be hard for the 48k spectrum coders back in those days. Those 2600/800/Amiga sprite hardware shows its limits. I like the 7800 version, too. Its not that bad? Can stuff be used from there? Isnt source code available? http://www.atarimuseum.com/videogames/consoles/7800/games/

Always fan of D but reduces more screen size y. Played GBA Version in Namco museum cart til death. Faithful port. Actually bought that cart just for Galaga and Dig Dug.
