  1. wasn't jay designing both chipsets... antic/gtia and copper/paula? was not aware that he is responsible for amiga dos etc as well... have to open my a500 to see if there are really the signatures inside... i can remember that when i borrowed in 80s an a500 for a weekend and played around with 68000assmebler little bit i changed simple colours on screen via copper list...and then realised that that's quite familiar coming from a8...
  2. www.cronosoft.co.uk www.cosine.org.uk and then look at jason's pages...
  3. tmr... just let it be... but there are methods by software to increase the 600 baud cassette sio.... or should be...
  4. ok... so why not putting a simple "lda #15, sta wsync, sta colbk" at the end of the kernel? (ok...atari800 dli code...just putting a white rasterline at athe end... )
  5. thomas...what is "c64"? ah...you mean the brotkasten...PS3...
  6. oh... just a suggestion... what about putting below the playfield the amount of lives left? just simply because on the mpegs there is a kind of big border...so you don't know where the playfield ends... (i remember that someone mentioned that this is the capture card but on tv screen and real hardware it's nearly fullscreen?`) oh...and another question...will it work in PAL? as you have less free CPU poweR?
  7. cybergoth: as far as i remember atari800 version (the orginal one) has smooth scrolling - not tile by tile...
  8. as more often i watch the mpegs i realise that this is one of the best ever 2600 games... and even more if you know how hard it is to know that you dont have a vram or a tile system or fonts by hardware... and all done with 1,77 mhz minus display kernel... ihmo it's easier to code a vic-20 version of boulderdash than this...
  9. amiga IS definitly successor of 800 series... Display list vs copper list, extreme flexibility... 4 channels of chip msx... ok...the 8 sprites are borrowed from c64 but it's a commodore... i love my a1200...
  10. 10 minutes? thats really oldschool... but could be worth with sack'S tune... what about ùsing turbo loader?
  11. i think TMR has finished dev of reaxion and is waiting for final mastering on tape for a release by cronosoft... bubble bobble do not know, same goes to leaderboard... i guess that the coders are like me... playing little bit around with code but to finishing a game is something completly different... so that's why i like TMR as he has the ability to really finish a project...
  12. i once made a small intro for gameboy...so i played around little bit with it... so should be no real problem (same goes to the R3000 in the psone...) but since 6 years i haven't touched z80... but somehow i like the coleco... but i don't like the "non accessable" vram (just via polling & I/O).... and no scrolling features.... but well...
  13. thanks for the list... i have seen demos for the coleco...cool to have all dev tools now available... unfortunatly as a 6502 geek i am not familiar with the z80... but could be worth a try...
  14. incredible work... still not fave of interlaced games but this is unbelievable fast... does the atari have a 3d chip? music is ok, samples are chrystal clear... sound fx are good... a real masterpiece... (hmmm.... seems that Boinxx need a little face lift... ) Well done Sheddy!
  15. but you could easily import MIDI files as frogger uses a lot of classics...and as the source is public you could adapt it to play f.e. 1 voice instead of all 4...
  16. well... i would prefer to have this option to save to flash... you know...you can even play it in 800win and make a savestate instead of charakter saving... so what?
  17. great work... seems if you have a sprite engine running for one game f.e. beef drop than you can easily reuse that... cool...
  18. here is my old tries in terms of antic e sprites... http://www.s-direktnet.de/homepages/k_nadj/timepilot.html
  19. what about using "XHEAD" to trace the init, run adresses in any atari binary??? it's a PC tool... and was distributed in the old xasm pack...
  20. just thinking... what is the small 800xl in front of the 1084???
  21. guys... i really like the storys...and i would quit my WOW experiences for a while... and enter this competition but are there REALLY working ATRs of AR around? i mean i have the original discs (and of the dungeon) somewhere but i don't have any 1050 anymore...so i would boot anyway via Sio2pc and laptop on my real 800xl or even playing on 800win where i can savestate... just let me know as you seem to be craks...
  22. update beta 7 16.5.2005 small colour and font changes...do not know why the hell the engine is now running in 25 fps instead of 50 fps... just changed 2 values... and in the archive you find a first test for the highscore routine... with the nice logo by vidol... high.zip
