There used to be a place here with an Atari Service sign in the window... after it went out of business I always wanted to go take it, but never did. Eventually someone bought the building and turned it into a restaurant... I'm sure they threw out the sign.

Pitfall II. H.E.R.O., Keystone Kapers, Kaboom!, Pitfall, and Starmaster are all in the running, though, and there's more that aren't far behind. Definitely the best games.

Thanks so much for starting this thread/compiling stuff from last year's! What can I do to help re-create the overall stats?

I was looking at a place with parts and it specifies that the ones for the original DS require soldering, but doesn't say about the DS Lite ones... anybody know? And as for what we're doing to them, I'm sure that it was Rune Factory and the hold-L-to-run thing for mine, cause the longer I played the worse it got.

I used to play NES games that way too... was really annoying when I'd accidentally bump the cart!

I feel your pain... my L button is starting to not work right. (Damn you Rune Factory and your hold-L-to-run!) I guess I should figure out if it's easy to fix.

I don't see it very often, even loose... it's listed as a 5, but I think it should probably be a 6 (yes, it's more common than Subterranea... maybe that should be a 6.5 ).

One of the things I got for Christmas... Epic Mickey, Plants vs. Zombies for the 360, Mario All-Stars for the Wii, Bust-A-Move for the Wii, the AtGames Genesis/motion game thing, or Picross 3D. Or maybe watching my husband play what I got him, Donkey Kong Country Returns.

Yeah, I'd totally go for console releases of the gold box games... I played them SO much. Used to drive my Mom crazy -- she hated the noise it made when you killed something.

Actually, "until after Xmas" is perfectly good English in that one case. Now, the rest of his auction, and his spelling ("untill"), are not so good.

The Donkey Kong Circus goes for quite a bit (at some point they've sold for something approaching $1K new, and there's someone trying to get over $800 Australian for one right now), though there aren't any recent completed sales on eBay. I'd expect those to be worth at least $200 each, assuming they're really working. Boxing not as much, but still worth at least $50 in that condition -- a loose one recently sold for $32. What I want to know is how the heck Goodwill ended up with three of each CIB.

Game recommendations... seconds to the already-mentioned Advance Wars, Advance Wars 2, and Mario Kart. Also, I really enjoyed Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge and Tony Hawk 2 and 3 (the GBA versions are done from a more isometric perspective... I actually like them better than the regular ones).

As I've mentioned in other threads, I have Atari dreams all the time, generally about finding awesome stuff that doesn't exist in reality. Had another one last night -- there was this really cool Sears plastic tray thing that you were supposed to set your console on with pics of different games on it. I love Sears stuff, so I was really disappointed to wake up and realize it wasn't real.

Wonder thinks you bought the stuff, Godzilla... is that right?
