  1. Well, I assume that you are talking about me General. Let me tell you what kind of a bad guy that I am. This weekend I am walking through a flea market and I saw a game that I already had. Tapper by Sega. Not a bad find for most. Now, because I know YOU didn't have it I said to myself, let me pick it up for him because I know he will want it and maybe we will work something out.

But now, I think Ebay looks kind of nice.........

By the way, if you had a half a brain you would see that the ebay lot that I just sold did not have ONE game on it that you did not have. Before you make an ass out of yourself again, check the facts.....

  2. I had a bit of good luck today. I found these games

    Donkey Kong Junior, Red Label

    Buck Rogers

    Entombed

    Pressure Cooker

    Mountain King

    Robot Tank, Blue Label

I also found something that I never knew existed. It is an adapter that allows all of your joysticks to have rapid fire. Interesting addition to the collection anyway.

This guy also had Tapper by Sega for 10 bucks. I have one already so I didn't pick it up, but I am second guessing myself should have probably picked that up for some good trade bait. hmmmm, will it still be there tomorrow???? :?:

  3. The thrift stores have not all been "hoarded". You just have to have some patience sometimes. I went to a thrift today and found 8 new games including label variations that I did not have.

Now if I only had 50 games that may not mean much, but I have over 250 unique 2600 games. Like I said earlier, you just have to keep looking and even if you have checked that thrift store 100 times and have found nothing, that 101st time there will be something that you are looking for. By the way, In my lot today I got Bermuda Triangle. So I was pretty happy with that one.

    Just my two cents....

  4. I just hooked up my 4-port 5200 for the first time last night and I am getting a blue screen on all of the games that I have. (6) I was reading some of the threads on here to see if I can troubleshoot on my own but to no avail.

I don't beleive its the switchbox because I am getting a good "switching" or "clicking" sound when I hit the power button on the unit. The light comes on just fine. I have tried both channels and am getting the same blue screen on both when I switch the channel selector.

    What am I missing???????

  5. I went to New York for the weekend. I show up at my uncle's house and what does he have waiting for me??

(Is the suspense killing you??) :)

He has two 5200 consoles, one is a four-port and the other a two-port. Four standard controllers, two power supplies. One is the 9.3 and the other 11.5. An orginal RF switchbox for the 4-port and four games. Pac-man, centipede, pole position and galaxian with overlays.

What an Uncle!!! Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend.

  6. This is the serial number on my 7800. 72R4BR A3 85 5061900

Can you guys tell me when this one was made by that number? On the bottom of my system it tells me it was made in Taiwan. Does that give the clue on when it was made??

    Thanks. Angelo

  7. My top three must be

    Waterworld

    Death Trap

    Star gunner, Color Label

I also have Combat two, #136 of 250. But I hold the other three in higher regard.

I have Meteor Defense by ITT Family Games that I don't hear too much about but I don't really know how difficult that one is to come by. Any thoughts on that game??

  8. I was reading the paper this morning and came upon an article on the "advances" in Artificial Intelligence.

Apparently this guy named Doug Lenat, who worked as a researcher for Atari in 1983, developed this computer called "CYC" pronounced "psych".

Well, I was not convinced of any of these "advances" in technology but I thought it was a testament to the kind of people that worked for Atari back in the day.

  9. quote
how much do you think ram it is worth?

Well, I think the game is worth more the $15 price tag that I passed up. I know I just wish that I didn't pass it up because now I need it in my collection. I am sure one day I will run into another one.

One thing that use to frustrate me was when I would see a bunch of cartridges of other systems, but because I was only primarily collection the 2600, I wouldn't know their worth so I would end up passing them by. Who knows what I have passed up on.

I knew there must have been a few other people who had passed up on some games. I am glad I am not the only one.

  10. A few years back I was at the local flea market and I went to my normal locations and the guy had the game "Ram it" by telesys. It was the black and white label variation.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I didn't buy the game because at the time I had no idea of its worth. He wanted $15 for the game and I decided that I would wait and do some research before I bought some common game for way too much money.

The next weekend I went back to buy the game and it was gone. So I was wondering, does anyone else remember passing up a game that they were not sure of its value only to regret it later.

Or a similar story of not having the cash at the time of a good find. Only to go back and the "good stuff" be long gone.
