  1. I agree with you on 4p battle but Super Tilt Bro on NES proves that 2 player is also fun https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brokestudio/super-tilt-bro-new-online-nes-game But he kept what I think is the most important from Smash Bros. like : large arenas, so "small" sprites that give you the feeling of space around you, on the opposite, 2D 1 vs 1 (or even 1 vs 1 vs 1 like IK+) have smaller arena, and players are more easily in contact with others. And he also has a modern feature that can change everything : online versus via Wifi (the chip is on the board) with modern netcode (rollback, ...) and ranking. Even if I am not an online gamer, I must admit this is incredible on a more than 40 years console. What I see here looks nice, but definitively does not makes me think of a Smash Bros. like. And fighting games are a nightmare to code, with normal moves, special moves, counter-moves, cancel moves, ... and of course balancing Good luck, you chosed a very hard to code type of game, but this is probably very interesting and challenging, and many things to learn from.
  2. As a guy who work on a Plouf Of Concept (I guess it is hard to translated, plouf is a french onomatopoeia for an object falling into water and sinking) for next week that uses AI generated artwork for background and portraits, and free assets for the rest. I think AI is nice to define a style for the visual aspect that a programmer can't do by himself. And it's sometimes hard to embark a graphist or artist on a project that could in the end finish in a trash bin...
  3. I think it is a very limited edition done at the Sillyventure 2k19, and given to some participants of the contest. Was very lucky to get one.
  4. Wow, looks very nice ! I think I have only 1 game you do not have, but you have many games I don't have Edit, in fact 3 games (Bitchy, Lynx Quest from SillyVenture, and my very limited home printed edition of A Bug's Lynx that sold so bad I stopped it - it was before Carl got the right to the reworked A Bug's Trip)
  5. Are these games published by Songbird or still by Telegames ? In the second case, I don't see what Carl could do...
  6. Spoiler - do not read if you don't want more clue on hidden code
  7. The test is printed in a frame buffer that you have to clear by yourself. This is usefull for user interface stuff that don't change every frame, juste print once, and keep them forever. To clear the frame buffer, just call cls()
  8. Do you use the DS4 on Jaguar via an adapter, or on PC with an emulator ?
  9. With 700$, I could buy more than half of songbird Lynx catalog, and I would get 12 (or more) new enjoyable games (to put on a shelf and resell for 700$ each when they will be discountinued of course ) I don't really care of unfinished protos, but it always hurt me when I saw guys making money with homebrewers work against ttheir wishes...
  10. It's the Lynx, you can't be at 60 fps, so you need multiple frame/posts to render an image/idea
  11. If you like hasard and suprise, I may suggest to add the Ü Box to your Assembloids order Ü-Box (polyplay.xyz) It's random stuff, so you will probably not get same items, but I was really happy with what I got in mine
  12. Elvies made the game with help from a composer for music. And he asked me about making a physical version, so we worked together and comissioned Nabuco for artwork. The game is inspired by Castlevania, so jump and ennemies, but I feel it less frustrating that real Castlevania in my memories, but maybe I am biased as I have not play Castlevania for a long time. You can try a very early version online or get the free version on hit itch.io page if you want to give it a try. Or of course buy the digital version.
  13. Preorder for Nyghtmare - the Ninth King are open It is a Castlevania inspired game, made in GB Studio by talented developer Elvies. You can play an early demo or get digital version on his itch.io page : Nyghtmare: The Ninth King by Elvies (itch.io) We teamed up for a boxed release with an awesome artwork from Nabuco88 You can get the game here, shipments will occur mid april for the first batch Nyghtmare - The Ninth King (yastuna-games.com)
  14. Got a mail end of january saying the production was delayed for 2 weeks, and effectively, my game was sent last wednesday (and I have n°4/150, so if they were managed on ascending order, I guess shipments started on wednesday for everyone) Received it yesterday.
  15. Blast Corps on Nintendo 64 was basically an "escort mission" game and was quite fun. But maybe because the real goal was to destroy everything
  16. Mine has been sent on wednesday. I hope to get it next week. Can't wait...
  17. CSS Traffic Regulation & Critter Championship have been featured in the recent german Return Magazine that is still for sale in kiosk in Germany/Austria and Switzerland from my understanding (and of course available online) This is quite an achievement for me, after GB Corp been tested in the UK Pixel Addict.
  18. Thanks you, but I have nothing to do with this Jaguar @XProger I am keeping the skunk for you (it is on my shelf). Payment is easy as it is free for you. Consider it as a payment for your future work on Jaguar. Delivery is another problem though, as it seems it is not possible to send goods to Russia right now (I must check again, but I k,ow for sure Delivengo does not allow it asthey open a pop up window each time I connect, and I had to connect many times in the past days for GB Corp kickstarter postage)
  19. It is a really nice game. I played through the 15 first levels (and will go back to it later) and some are really tricky, I really like this kind of games. Thanks you for putting it to my attention. Even if I like the minimal aspect of the Arduboy graphs. I see the Steam/Switch version have colored graphs, (less interesting than the arduboy ones in my opinion), but have you considered adding an option to switch between original arduboy 2 colors graphs and a dedicated Lynx graphset ? Some items are hard to distinguish/uderstand in the arduboy version (like holes)
  20. They also had not enough money to secure a national launch in US, so of course, it was had to expect a faster launch for us in EU. For games, it was lots of computers ports because developers and publishers who signed with Atari was mostly ex Atari ST developers (or demomakers) that were committed to Atari brand (so many europeans devs... - and no japanese ones).
  21. There are some videos about the "how to" The 8th one show internals, based on a pocket go, not an raspberry pi
  22. The only one He says he'd like to make a Lynx 2, but the glass is too complex. Also said maybe he could make one smaller, but no plan to make a small serie right now ("too much work") Maybe he could put the STL file or download, who knows...
  23. It is just a one man made item for its own pleasure, like so many did with Raspberry in mini NES/Megadrive/SNES/... shells He does not have plan to make more or sell. So I don't think Atari lawyers will take time to deal with him (would not have say the same 10 years ago ) As they seem to be a bit more smart than some years ago, they may even use this as self-promotion on social media, but nothing more
  24. For german people, Retro gaming Panda made an interview by mail, and translate it while showing some of the Lynx & GB games If (like me), you can't understand spoken german, the english transcript of the interview has been put in the comments. I
