  1. Agreed, about $20-30. The real value comes with it being packaged with other items like the color wheel or the 3D Imager.
  2. Looks like the game would be doable.
  3. PLEASE NOTE: Even Jay Smith HAS NOT placed any of the original titles into "Public Domain" status. He has only made the original titles as as free to duplicate. This was originally allowed so that others could create low cost reproduction Vectrex cartridges of the original Vectrex titles and low cost multicarts so people could play games on the Vectrex without a question violation. But stating that any of the original titles are "Public Domain" is wholly inaccurate. Even if others have done so. I have verified this a few times in the past with Jay. The same can be said for the works of other Vectrex software and hardware creators, unless they have specifically stated their works are public domain.
  4. Config file always welcome.
  5. Emu or Real Vectrex? Score table needs more details. :-)
  6. If you change the fonts the value as reproduction overlay is greatly decreased.
  7. You may want to post here as well: http://vectorgaming.proboards.com/
  8. I have seen a lot of adapters to convert a controller/joystick for use on one system to use on a completely different system. Such as the PSX to Vectrex adapter. I have also seen USB adapters to allow the use of an original controller/joystick on a PC in order to have a better experience in an emulator. But I have not yet noticed an adapter to allow a smartphone/table (Android, iPhone, etc) to act as a replacement controller. Effectively turing the smartphone/table into a controller you can connect to an old/new console. Has anyone seen a adapter to connect a USB / Dock / Lightning port to an console port of a classic console? (Vectrex, Atari, Intellivision, SNES, Sega, etc) Would be nice to use a tablet or a smartphone as a replacement controller. While not a joystick, there could still be some upsides. Such as an virtual controller app that would allow the following: Remapping of the controls. Repositioning of the controls. Emulation of analog controls in the smartphone/tablet with corresponding analog output to the console. Such as a the analog joystick in the Vectrex and other systems. Emulation of keypad controls in the smartphone/tablet with corresponding output to the console. Such as a the keypad in the Intellivision and other systems. Macros for use during game play. Skins and other graphics to replicate to the look and feel of the original controller in the app on smartphone/tablet. In addition simply replacing the controller, I could see the adapter taking things further for those systems that have some two-way I/O capability possibility. Obviously some code would be needed on both the console and the smartphone/tablet app to allow for this interface to work. I can see many older systems supporting this idea. Even the Vectrex. The following features and more might be supported. Allow the smartphone/tablet to act as a rumble controller giving the player physical feedback. Emulation of other non-standard keypads, joysticks, and other controllers, etc. that are hard to obtain due to rarity or price. Allow the smartphone/tablet to provide audible feedback. Effectively turning the external device into another sound interface for the console. Beeps. full range sounds. Music. Voice synthesis, etc Allow the smartphone/tablet/other device act as a secondary display for the console to a limited degree. Obviously this would vary by system and communication speed on the console port. Other generalized I/O allowing other things to be accomplished not mentioned above . What do you all think? What have you already seen? .
  9. John Dondzila's games are great! But Protector and VectorPilot are tops. Spike's Circus is another title I really like for its complexity and overall game quality. Similar to VectorPilot, Spike's Circus has that overall sooth feel. Plus an excellent sense of physics that really shows off the polish of the game.
  10. That is the question I also had. Follow up indicated the seller was selling low price ($2 and $3) items for the same $5 ($4.95) rate. Maybe the the seller was doing this as as loss leader for future business? I am not sure. Have a query out to the seller (eBay: luckiegames) to see what their method is. #### Follow up: Turns out it is combination of things for Luckie Games that allows them to ship so cheaply. They have both, a large volume of shipments (100s+ per day), and the ability to absorb a loss on some shipping costs. Something a small seller cannot easily do. BTW, their quick and thorough response has put then on my short list for eBay sellers.
  11. Hi All, Recently I had a potential buyer indicate a previous seller was able to ship a package from the US to Sweden for $5 USD this year (2014). The package was a bare game cart or two. Try as I might I have not been able to locate a shipping service that is able to send a small 6 ounce package for less than $13 USD. Can anyone suggest a carrier, service , or methods for low cost shipping between the US and other international locations? With initial preference to US-Sweden shipping. In keeping with thread usability I also welcome suggestions for information for shipping between other international locations as well. If you know of ways to ship between any countries not necessarily the US, then please add them in here. Non-standard methods like luggage shipping services, personal carry on package transport and others are welcome. Factual details please. Please keep in mind this thread should be about keeping shipping costs low.
  12. I have shipped and received more thank 20 things between the US and Brasil. Never had any issues doing so other than the time it takes for some packages to make it though their customs and local mail service. Usually within a month but sometimes as long a 6 to 8 weeks. Patience is the key.
  13. Fun little project. About time someone did this.
  14. The retroUSB 8Bit Xmas 2013 cart was pretty cool. Brian did a nice job. A previous 8-Bit Xmas 2011 version is on eBay for $190.
  15. Once again, not mine. I also view this kiosk more as a re-imagining of the Vectrex sale and demo kiosk (display stand) rather than a strict reproduction of the original kiosks. 16. Still, we have a Pong overlay of some sort.
  17. For one of my VecMulti carts I just modded the shell to add a slot. Then performed a mod to the the micro SD card in order to lengthen it a little for extraction and insertion. Problem solved. But I like your custom shell too.
  18. The way I read Sean's past posts, he has not been against an individual buying a shell to use on their own in order to case a Multi-Cart they obtained from another seller. As for an actual embargo I think the word is a bit strong and out of place. I have heard he has asked other multi-cart makers to refrain from using his case in bulk sales of their own purchases specifically for the purpose of building and selling a multi-cart. As far as I know all have respected this. But they also know shells are available and provide things like a cart label to go along with the purchase of their multi-cart. As for finding shells a person just had to search the internet to find Sean was the source as well as find his current email address. People focused only on one specific forum are likely to miss out. Personally speaking I want to see Sean retain ownership of the mold. He has been a reliable source of shells over many years. When the community is actually ready to make a bulk order Sean has been ready to collect the responses and make a new production run for gray shells and for colored shells. Early on I think he funded the whole order. For later orders Sean has personally funded large parts of each order. And when others have dropped out of commitments made to Sean it made no difference as he covered their part of the order anyway. The only requirement for Sean making a new order in the past was the order has to be large enough to justify the time and expense on the part of the manufacturer. This usually means and order of 1000's of carts or or more for gray along with an order of hundreds of carts or more for other colors. I can tell you from personal experience few people have actually stepped up with the cash when it came time to place a large order. Note above I said "with". The colored cart runs are only practical when made along with the gray carts. If a single short run were to be made then all setup costs for the run have to be rolled into the final price for single color. Plus the minimum order would be at least 1000 carts. And were back into funding commit issue again. Sean might have a correction to what I have said above. If I have wrongly spoken on any topic I do apologize. Once again I wish the best for an alternate mold and run being made. But development costs (design, sample, revise, and repeat) plus production run costs have definitely been the roadblocks in the past.
  19. Is this actually a "Marketplace" thread any longer? The content so far suggests this thread is more of a development thread and/or a price query thread. Even the title is suggestive of this rather than a direct sale of ready to sell / ready to make production run products. I realize AtariAge runs its marketplace a little different, but most other forums frown a on a thread is mostly asking for price knowledge by sellers or buyers. Hopefully Sean can be afforded some leeway due to what might be seen, for now, as a misplaced topic and thread.
  20. Exactly. I have ordered my shells via Sean Kelly in the past using his mold for special short runs in the other colors. Also the reason that colored shells are more expensive than the large bulk orders of the grey shells (aka Vectrex black) The same can be said for the other shells I have sold mkiker2089. Gray is back in stock and I will have some individual sale Gray (black) shells up on eBay shortly. Lower priced individual direct sales orders taken outside of eBay. BUT, I heartily recommend The OP, 5-11under, run ahead with his project. Especially for short runs of colored cart shells. We're not likely to see other colors until Sean is out of his newly delivered stock. Probably a couple of years from now at least. Something I have found to be useful for controlling costs is the USPS Padded Flat Rate Envelope. The Come in two syles. Priority Mail Padded Flat Rate Envelope and Priority Mail Express Padded Flat Rate Envelope. Both are free to order from the USPS. If you order the maximum amount they will be delivered in a box for handy storage. Each envelope can easily hold 10 or 12 Vectrex shells. Even though they are meany for the Priority Mail service you can flip them inside out and use them for First Class deliveries as well. For mkiker2089's delivery he ordered enough, and was in the right location, to justify using the flat rate price. So to protect the carts even further I stuffed the carts into a few layers of padded envelops. The overall package protects well while remaining as light weight as possible. The material also has a texture that most any tape or labels stick to firmly! Mkiker2089 will have to related what he thinks of my method. No matter the outcome the experience gained from this project is valuable for producing runs of shells for other platforms. So go forward with it , please. BTW, The best mailing method goes to Richard H. who mails his items in anti-static bags, inside bubble, inside Tupperware, covered with postal-quality brown paper, all covered in a layer of packing tape. If your items die en-route from Richard's place then chances are The Incredible Hulk was involved somewhere along the way.
  21. Gyruss World Record bested! Well done Kim “Kanonarm” Köbkes. 1 day, 11 hours, 28 minutes, 15 seconds to score more than 47,024,400 points.
  22. I would imagine that many people have already see this Gyruss work record attempt by Kim Köbkes over in Denmark. If not, have a look at the live stream still going on. Currently at 35.5 hours and 45.7 million points. http://www.twitch.tv/chassisarcade
