    VecFever

And the Vectrex ran on batteries.
  2. They really a nice set of overalys. I love the fact they are not as thick as the originals, while still being plenty thick enough to fti and stay on the Vectrexer. Their thickness allow for mixing in two or three overlays to get a brand another alternate color. A couple of the overlays are fluorescent too. Some pictures of Chopper The Dog Engineering (CTDE) Colored Vectrex Overlay set images can be seen here: Vectrex Solid Color Overlays - 2018 - Set of 7 Overlays - From Chopper The Dog Engineering (CTDE) https://photos.app.goo.gl/VJb34CpGRXqroynF7
  3. When reusing an Original era GCE / MB Vectrex cartridge shell, look for the cart that has a screw. Remove the screw. Then pop the shell open. Even the screwed shells have internal plastic clips along the outside edges that will hold the cart together. But the cart shells without the screw have glue applied before being snapped shut.
  4. Some are glued shut. That is probably one of them. Why would you want to open this one?
  5. For Windows 8 and Windows 10 I took a different approach to using the "ATTRIB" command. There are a couple Windows systems services that can be managed to prevent writing of pesky extra file and folder to removable drives. First I previously documented method referenced on Mateos' web site to not allow removable drives to be automatically added to libraries. (https://web.archive.org/web/20180503134808/http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org:80/index.php/en/mvbd-mvmc-3/faq-2) In addition to disabling search indexing of the removable drive, a few of other steps are needed. They do not hurt the operating system. But if you index and search your drive(s) like I do then you may want to use the temporary disablement option instead of a permanent one so that you can continue to search normally afterward. Permanent Disable Option: Disable stop the "Windows Storage" and "Windows Search" system services. • Tap the "Windows" key. • Type "services.msc". • Using the mouse, Right-Click on the application and select "Run as administrator". • Scroll down to the service named "Storage Service" and double-click on it. • Click on the field "Startup type" and select "Disabled. • If the service is running, click the button labeled "Stop". • Click the button labeled "Apply". • Click the button labeled "Okay". • Scroll down to the service named "Windows Search" and double-click on it. • Click on the field "Startup type" and select "Disabled. • If the service is running, click the button labeled "Stop". • Click the button labeled "Apply". • Click the button labeled "Okay". • Close the Services tool. Just to be safe reboot. Temporary Disable Option: Temporarily stop the Windows Store and Windows Search system services. • Tap the "Windows" key. • Type "services.msc". • Using the mouse, Right-Click on the application and select "Run as administrator". • Scroll down to the service named "Storage Service" and double-click on it. • If the service is running, click the button labeled "Stop". • Click the button labeled "Apply". • Click the button labeled "Okay". • Scroll down to the service named "Windows Search" and double-click on it. • If the service is running, click the button labeled "Stop". • Click the button labeled "Apply". • Click the button labeled "Okay". • Close the Services tool. After writing to Mateos flash cart then reverse the procedure and start the the two services. Alternatively, one or more script file(s) with elevated system privilege might also be used to temporarily stop/start the Windows Storage and Windows Search system services while writing to Mateos flash drive. Services and their names to control: Display name: Storage Service Service name: StorSvc Display name: Windows Search Service name: WSearch Below are some commands options that might be used in a Windows script file to control the services. Bear in mind these commands need to be run with elevated privileges (administrator level privileges) in a batch, command, or PowerShell script. Stop the services using the "NET" command: NET STOP StorSvc NET STOP WSearch Start the services using the "NET" command: NET START StorSvc NET START WSearch Stop the services using the "SC" command: SC STOP StorSvc SC STOP WSearch Start the services using the "SC" command: SC START StorSvc SC START WSearch Stop the services using the PowerShell "Stop-Service" command: SC STOP StorSvc SC STOP WSearch Start the services using the PowerShell "Start-Service" command: SC START StorSvc SC START WSearch

  9. Correct. The Sean Kelly Multi-Cart is preloaded. There is an update possibility when the next version of the load comes out. But it's a chargeable update accomplished by the creator. And you must return the Multi-cart back to Sean for the update to be made. There is another limitation with the current (and previous) hardware of SK Multi-Cart. no RAM on the cartridge. So games such as Animaction needing the extra RAM will not work and are not currently included in the software list. But then this is already know and indicated on Multi-Cart web site.
  10. Always a good day when the dog gets fed.
  11. Sharp graphics. Excellent controller. Great sound. And original games that really did feel like Vectror arcade titles. Personally, I enjoy the Vector experience. Sure it's not filled in to the n'th degree. But that is part of the magic. The magic being the Vectrex gives you eye an catching experience while also leaving your imagination to fill in between the vectors.
  12. Dare you enter the,,,, Facebook Zone,,,?
  13. Madtronix has delivered to me several times in the past to the USA west coast. Sometimes it takes John a while to work through the request stack.
  14. The MiniVex Pedal I Vectrex controller should be is compatible with the Fury Overdrive Vectrex controller. The MiniVex Pedal "I" replicates the button function for the selected button. The Button function is available for control at the same time on the MiniVex Pedal and the Vectrex controller.
  15. Yes, it was a quick listing. I guess many people were watching for it come up. Fear not about that fast sale. I am sure Larry will have another MiniVex Pedal for Vectrex and Atari use posted up soon enough.
  16. Update 2018-12-07: There is a feature kept "secret" for the first listing . Now that sale is done the secret is out! Larry also informed me the MiniVex Pedal "I" has Atari 2600 Support! The MiniVex Pedal can be used with the original Atari 2600 and its Controllers to allow for button control by foot pedal. Compatible with the following controllers: • Atari 2600 Joystick • Atari 2600 Driving Controller • Atari 2600 Paddle Controller • Other Atari 2600 compatible controllers
  17. Overall I think the quality matched up to his other MiniVex products well. Functions exactly as described. Does not interfere the functions of joystick. Love the fact that I can use the pedal in place of buttons 1 or 2. Those can be a stretch at times during the exciting parts of a game. Such as the Escape (hyperspace) button in Mine Storm. Definitely worth it. The included pedal feels good enough. Cable Length from the switch selector box to the pedal is about 66 inches (5.5 feet / 1.8 yards / 1.6 meters). Cable length from the switch selector box to the Vectrex is 6 inches (15 centimeters). I found both cable lengths good for connection to the Vectrex, and to reach the floor while playing from a desk top. The connector that connects to the Vectrex is already pre shaped to fit without any issues. The switch is nice and solid. I have sent some suggestions back to Larry. Such as a suggestion to use a detachable pedal with a 1/4 plug. This would open up the possibility of other pedals from the music world being used. Here is a link to an album with my pictures of the MiniVex Pedal "I" prototype I received. https://photos.app.goo.gl/miyDx9ztRLehYNhU6
  18. There is another Flash Based Cart still produced. Mateos Vectrex Rewritable Multigame Cartridge 16in1 (MVRMC 16in1) + Mateos Vectrex Burner/Dumper (MVBD) http://www.vectrex.hackermesh.org/index.php It may take a while for the creator to respond. Be patient.
  19. Coming Soon for Vectrex... MiniVex Pedal I Vectrex Controller Button Controller. Following Larry's (ClassicGamesAndCarsFan) current MiniVex controller is the new MiniVex Vectrex Pedal Controller. The controller is designed so that it may be used either in tandem with another Vectrex controller, or independently on a different controller port. Plug the Pedal Controller into your Vectrex. Plug your controller into the extension box controller. Select button 1,2,3 or 4 with the rotary switch. Then stomp it! The selected button still operates from the controller as well as the pedal. The Pedal Controller can be used in on its own too. Plug the pedal controller in the desired Vectrex controller port. Select button 1,2,3 or 4 with the rotary switch. Then stomp it! Keep an eye on availability through Larry's regular eBay sales. Here is his his eBay sales via his "ClassicGamesAndCarsFan" seller account. https://www.ebay.com/sch/ClassicGamesAndCarsFan/m.html?_sop=10 I'll post more pictures later when mine arrives. #Vectrex #MiniVex #Pedal #Foot #Switch #Controller #MiniVexPedalI
  20. Nope. The CRT is mounted vertically. Reference these internal photos of the Mini Vectrex proto via the Vectrex Fans Unite! group posting by Sean Kelly of the National Videogame Museum in Frisco Texas. https://www.facebook.com/groups/vectrex/permalink/908004062743305/
  21. A picture of the prototype from one of it appearances at in the past at Classic Gaming Expo. At the time the "Home Arcade" prototype was on loan from Jay Smith for display in the show's on site mobile CGE Museum. The prototype has since been transferred from the holder to a permanent home in Frisco Texas for museum care and display along with the Vectrex color prototype.
  22. Could you share the source and price?
  23. Even the prototype needed a tin shield for the flyback transformer. Note that wonderful apple juice can!
  24. Did they keep your contact and specifications from your order?
