  1. No, you definitely weren't The Lone Ranger regarding the OG Game Boy's screen 😉
  2. Same here Bill. I had zero regrets getting the Lynx and sticking with it. Also, 100% agreed on the screens. Modern screens on something like my Retroflag GPi or even modern screen replacements are so much better than those screens in the past it is not even funny.
  3. Will check this out when I have time. Take care and keep up the good work.
  4. I gotta agree with you to some degree Bill. The 3DO was actually a pretty good system all things considered. However, its initial price, lack of games when launched, and its (later on) "porn" notoriety really hurt it. That being said, it was a good system that I myself thought about ditching my Genesis and TurboGrafx-16 to try and get. However, I shifted my parental asking efforts to a Jaguar (which I never got), but that is another story.
  5. I didn't like the Game Boy back in the day either. I was more than happy to ditch it for a Lynx II system. Still, the Game Boy does have a massive amounts of good games. But, the screen on the OG Game Boy was crap imo, hence me ditching it.
  6. Very true, but it was a lot more so that time around 😆
  7. Good and solid episode. I think the game looks really good and glad to see the Amiga (as well as many other computing and console platforms) are getting new games even today.
  8. This is tough one for me as I happen to like pretty much every console that I have ever used. However, that being said, I would have to say that the "worst" console I ever played on was, admittingly, the Odyssey 2. I do like the Odyssey 2 and there are some very good games on it, such as Smithereens. That has got to be one of the best two player games ever imo. However, when compared to the experiences that others have offered, I have to go with it. However, again, while it was the "worst" console I played on, it does mean it wasn't any good and or worth while. Definitely there is a lot of fun to be had on the system, especially with two player games such as Smithereens and even Basketball. I know that my son and I had some very intense games of Basketball, which was hella fun.
  9. Well, not quite what I was going after as I was thinking a PC clone with Amiga graphics and sound graphed onto it. Still, if they could have developed better and more efficient PC compatibility cards (or heck just baked them into the hardware) it could have been something.
  10. 100% agreed. Also, it can make one wonder why didn't Commodore go this route to considering they had the Amiga and were building PC compatibles too. Regardless, another case of could've, should've, would've.
  11. I saw this some time ago. It was a pretty good video I thought. I will say that Wrestling With Gaming's episode on the Neo Geo was really good too.
  12. Definitely you need to do some kind of an SD card solution for easy gaming.
  13. That is unbelievably cool. Makes one wonder what might have happened if Atari had jumped on the PC (gravy) train early on.
  14. Oh, I am not criticizing the Lynx in any way. Now, it was a battery hog (but not as bad as the inferior Game Gear was), and it was not pocketable at all. Portable, yes; but not pocketable like even the OG Game Boy was (although it still was a bit big for pockets truth be told). However, it was a great and awesome handheld and I happily got rid of the my OG Game Boy to get and have the Lynx. It was a great handheld that unfortunately was smashed to bits by the Game Boy. Still, it had some really great games and remains my favorite handheld. Although, my little Retroflag GPi is one heck of a little handheld and easily fits in cargo shorts. I can personally attest to it 😄.
  15. If you don't have a Lynx and/or a way to play Lynx games already, I think you are in for a treat. I loved my Lynx back in the day and it was a handheld way ahead of its time (in some respects). Take care and hopefully the Evercade shows up soon so you can get in on some great Lynx action 😉.
  16. Yeah, the shape looks good for the most part, but if this thing can be a hit perhaps they can update the model a little sometime down the line in order to improve its ergonomics. Also, yes, definitely the collections they have curated thus far are pretty solid imo. I think if I didn't have a way to play these games already I would probably be trying to go for this considering the collector spin they are putting on this with the numbered carts and clamshell cases like the Mega Drive / Genesis used to be back in day.
  17. There is the ZX Spectrum Omni to consider as well. It is a more reasonable $110, which as the style of the 48k machine, but with 128k and a lot of other modern day features. Not sure what the production status is on it right now as it is in 'Pre-Order' status.
  18. It was a very good video and I enjoyed it highly, but the one from the other week was still awesome as Aaron was stunned by Boat and his singing. It still cracks me up even thinking about it now.
  19. Definitely the Evercade has a lot of possibilities, especially with systems like the Lynx or even the Neo Geo Pocket. However, considering that I have ways to playing most of these games already, I am pretty good to go. But, I do like the product and wish them well. If they continue to cultivate and put together homebrew collections, I will give this a much stronger look.
  20. It's a cool looking game. But considering it involves demons, Hell, and ilk, I don't think this will be appearing on the Amico given its family friendly nature. Now, this on the Switch or another console, definitely I can see it happening.
  21. Going with 8'' floppy drive at the time probably did make sense because of storage issues and better ease of use. However, that format was quickly supplanted by 5 1/4'' drives (like on the IBM PC), and therefore became kind of a dinosaur real quick. Regardless, the Model II was a really good machine, it just had too many things against it.
  22. Checked it out. It was a pretty good episode and definitely I do enjoy the 30 minute timeframe and alternative perspectives on things, like the upcoming Intellivision Amico. In the meantime, take care and keep up the good work gents!
  23. Thanks for the information. Also, I did see it on the Google Podcast directory and have subscribed. Take care and best of luck! I will be listening.
  24. Oh, I am definitely not holding my breath on an Amiga mini. Also, same goes for an Atari ST mini. But, if either one of those were to come out, it would be hard to pass up, depending on the price, which is a big reason I am going to pass on the ZX Spectrum Next and just stick with my pre-order for THEVIC20.
