  1. The TRS-80 is surprisingly capable. Obviously, not great by any stretch, but there is some good fun to be had on the machine.
  2. Glad to see that the 2nd Kickstarter is up and running. I was very much looking forward to seeing this. However, I just don't think I will be backing this as $456 is just a little too much for me. Besides, I am have already pre-ordered THEVIC20 and waiting on that group to do an Amiga product, which hopefully will happen way sooner than much, much later. Still, I am very much behind this project/product and wish the group the very best of luck.
  3. Yeah, just the nature of the beast with games and capability with various computer models. Still, it was an worthwhile venture just to give it a go and see.
  4. No kidding! Not these were bad machines, but just too expensive for what others, notably IBM, where offering for the money.
  5. Totally agree with you Bill. The PS1 was a gamble considering what all Nintendo and Sega had going, not to mention all of the other machines released in the 5th generation. Also, the 3DO was a machine that was highly anticipated at the time, myself included. However, that initial $699 price tag (or whatever was the original release price) pretty much killed off the console before it really even got a chance to get started.
  6. Going with the 8'' floppy drives was a bad decision, especially once 5 1/4'' took off. Also, yes, the prices stunk when compared to the competition. Still, the Model II was one heck of a piece of engineering. Too bad it was so massive of a dud.
  7. Another good episode. While I think this was a decent platformer, making it an AGA machine only game which didn't use any AGA specific features was a bad decision. But, then again, this was released at end of the Amiga's life as a viable gaming platform, so I suppose it could have been worse in some respects, but it could have been a heck of a lot better, that's for sure.
  8. Kinda goes to show that the Studio II had more capability than what a lot people think about it. Shame RCA made so many bad decisions concerning it. It could've been a winner in some respects. Still, great to see development going on for the Studio II.
  9. Nice to see the ST getting some anniversary love. It really was a very good machine and deserves some limelight out of the Amiga's shadow.
  10. Correct hwrd. Commodore cut the price of the Vic-20 and C64, and then cut the cost of peripherals too which was how TI was staying afloat selling the 99/4a at a loss. Once Tramiel did that, it was game over for TI. Also, Atari was pretty much dead in the water in 1984 and Commodore suffered huge losses in 1984 into 1985 once Tramiel and a how slew of engineers and upper level management left. They only survived due to the success of the C64. If they didn't have that to help balance things out in addition to the Amiga, they would have gone under way earlier than 1994.
  11. When my THEVIC20 comes out, I am grabbing one of these right away. I hope they make one with Vic20 games too.
  12. Cool. I will make sure to check back on Google Podcasts and check this out if/when I can. BTW, kinda surprise you are not doing this with Aaron and/or Brent, but imagine they have their hands full doing the regular shows as well as Aaron doing more Friday night streams now.
  13. BTW, the Nostalgia Nerd did a pretty good video on the Atari ST. I don't know what all information he was able to find and/or have access to, but you might want to reach out to him privately and see what he says, if anything. Also, I know that the guys at The Retro Hour podcast have had guest(s) on that discussed the Atari ST. You might want to reach out to those guests as well. Just some thoughts. Take care and best of luck.
  14. I have seen (most) of the parts uploaded to YouTube. Definitely you guys do an excellent job and congratulations to the best Amigathon yet. Take care and keep up the great work as I look forward to a new Amigos and ARG Presents here soon ;).
  15. If they produce an 'THEAMIGA500' or something to that effect, I do whatever I can to grab one, especially if they have a front end that make it easy to play games and/or access to applications like D-Paint.
  16. I read your piece. I thought it was really good and informative. Definitely if Atari had acquired the Amiga, Commodore would have (almost) surely had been done for. However, as a result of not getting it, Tramiel did get his revenge in some way as Commodore eventually went under due to (some) of Atari's efforts to undermine them.
  17. I need to check this out. He did a real good job with Part 1 I thought.
  18. Definitely I would be happy to be proven wrong as the Mini is still a viable choice even now, but I personally just don't see them really putting much effort into trying to update it at this point. Still, again, I would be glad to be proven wrong.
  19. I would say that is pretty stout as well. I don't know why people said it would fail, as it has a really broad appeal to a lot of people. I can tell you that if I had it I would be learning Shogi and trying to get better at Go.
  20. It is a game that almost anyone can get some enjoyment and play out of. If I had a Switch, I would get this immediately.
  21. I don't imagine they will update the Mini for a lot further, if at all considering it looks like their efforts have shifted to the full sized unit. BTW, THEVIC20 can now be ordered from Amazon UK and shipped to the States. I saw that at 1:30am this past Saturday and went ahead and ordered it. I do realize it is just a tweak of the THEC64, but I find the Vic more aethetically appealing than I do most versions of the C64. Now, if they did a THEC64C with the GUI in it, that would be something.
  22. I will have to check this title out as I do love me some Neo Geo Pocket.
  23. Love the show and watched this episode this past weekend. Great job as always and keep up the good work!
  24. Yes, I believe that was one of his reasons. But, he did go on to state further that based on what he had seen he just wasn't into the games that would be coming out on the console. That plus some other reasons lead to him asking for a refund. No reason to bash the guy for choosing to go in a different direction as his channel is being geared to retro stuff and modern ways to play things, like the Dreamcast shell he recently covered. Now, its true he could have stuck with the pre-order and waited until it arrived in order to cover it and do the content. But, hey, you pays your money and takes your pick. He just choose to put his money toward something else. Nothing really wrong with that imo.
