Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
Hwlngmad replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
Agreed as I think $199 is a better sell than $249, especially when you take into account the SKUs MS, Sony, and Nintendo have and/or are offering on their current consoles. However, if the Amico sells well and/or great at $249, nothing wrong with that and great for Tommy and IE. Still, a $249 price tag could possibly put off some, but that is just imo. -

Considering how much R&D MS put into the design of the new controller, I doubt they will redesign the controller but may tweak it down the road. Same for Sony. But, again, lot of what-ifs, if anything at all. However, it will be interesting to see how it all plays out, that's for sure. -

A disc-less next gen Xbox system of some kind is bound to happen, especially considering that they already have the Xbox One S AD edition and Sony is releasing a PS5 AD edition too. However, I believe that a $199 next gen Xbox console could potentially sell quite well. Granted, it won't appeal to casual and non-gamers at the beginning. Still, if they can tap into their extensive back catalog with the previous generation consoles and start cultivating titles that focus beyond regular and/or hard-core gamers, then perhaps they can have substantially growth. But, that is a lot of 'what-ifs' and we will just have to wait and see what exactly they do. -
I, too, was pretty pumped from watching this trailer. Makes one wonder where some of this was at in the latest trilogy of movies, but I digress. Definitely I am looking forward to seeing what all the game is about, because, after all, this is EA we are talking about here. Still, I do have positive hopes for this.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

I think you are pretty much spot on here. While I do think there is enough to do some analysis, there is still a lot we don't know enough of to do a full analysis of the console. Same goes, in some way, with the next Xbox and Playstation. We know lots about them, but there is still a lot we don't know yet either. At this point, I would encourage people to just wait and see a bit further. After that, take your pick and pay your money. -
There is more fun to be had on the 3DO than CD-i imo. Still, either one is still worthy of having as the 3DO has lots a good games and the CD-i with its multimedia efforts.

It's a nice little addition. More collections like this one and I might just have to get this along with a few carts.

Tauon Electronics - Tauon PC-1 (Have you heard of this?)

It looks neat and the concept has potential, but from the reviews I have seen this isn't that great of a product. -
Very nice! Can't wait to see what they have in store for the franchise.

Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A
Hwlngmad replied to Tommy Tallarico's topic in Intellivision Amico
100% agreed. You don't need AAA titles and there are plenty of mobile games that are very impressive and (dare I say) just as good as what you can find on any current home console. However, the issue for me is that I just haven't see any games thus far that have really fired me up. Also, while I do appreciate and understand the redoing of classic titles like Astrosmash, Moon Patrol, Pong, and Breakout, I don't know if there really has been a big call for this to happen. Just my opinion as I could very well be wrong. However, definitely the Amico has potential and I wish Tommy and IE the best. I am definitely keeping track of the updates and look forward to when this is finally out and available for the masses. -
Cool! I will have to check it out soon.

Agreed. However, if you are very much into Coleco, have you looked at the Phoenix console by CollectorVision? That may be worth looking into as I heard that they are very likely to produce a 2nd and final run of that console. -

Afraid the possibility of an Intellivision flashback sequel has sailed into the sunset with the Amico coming out soon. However, an updated ColecoVision would be nice, but I don't think the sales figures really warranted a second one if memory serves me right. -
Definitely this is the type of collection that I could really sink my teeth into nowadays given my time constraints. It looks like a great games package and should sell really well and help to further boast the Switch's status with all types of gamers.

Wow! That is pretty cool. However, I have only played the tile clearing Mahjong game Shanghai (and various clones of the concept), but never the actual game. Still, this is pretty nifty and it has been nice to explore the Neo Geo more as it was something I remember reading about and seeing just once in person back when I was a kid. Definitely I dig the console a lot, that's for certain.

Definitely a more comprehensive and capable portable device would be nice, that's for sure. -
Yes, very much enjoying going through the last page. Definitely as I have gotten a bit older and my time for putting a lot into any game has decreased, card and quick board games such as this have increased in my wheel house.

Cool! Will have to check the video out. Take care and keep up the good work.

I know I have said it many times, but League Bowling is awesome and is really a hidden gem of a game imo.

Definitely some good games he highlights. I will have to check a few of those out for sure.

That looks really cool. I dig it and definitely wish the dev good luck on getting it out as it could be a good looking game for the Neo Geo.

The Official Sega Saturn Thread!
Hwlngmad replied to Steven Pendleton's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Definitely nice to see the Saturn getting its own thread. It is well deserved. I myself briefly owned a Saturn V2 with some games not too long ago. It was a good system, but ultimately I decided to not keep it and sold everything off. Still, it was a system that should have done better had things been different.
