There's no evidence for ANYthing those bright-eyed optimists are saying. Calling this a Flying Spaghetti Monster is insulting to FSMers everywhere.

    1. The "Dick Tracy" watch with the Atari label on it failed LONG AFTER many, many updates about production, long after they showed working prototypes. "Atari VCS" isn't even at that stage yet.
    2. "Have faith" is literally the opposite of evidence.
    3. "I believe" is the same.
    4. Andy "Overly Attached" Blakely only "bets" the software devs are working "insane hours." I will take that bet. Wishing doesn't make it so. But in his defense, zero hours is also "insane."
    5. Crossing fingers is far less effective than NOT giving money to obvious grifters 18 months ago.
    6. For someone who repeatedly says he still doesn't care if there's another delay, Andy sure talks a lot about it.
    7. Of course there's going to be a delay. There are only a few weeks before December. Of course the reputation of "Atari" is already a bad joke. But who cares about hurting future sales? It would be best for everyone, "Atari" included, for this to fail quickly. Even as a dumb joke, it's getting old.
    8. "Working with Walmart and others" means less than nothing. Walmart and Gamestop are being used like Amazon or Ebay in this case. "Atari" is hiding behind them to pretend this project is a real product. There's zero evidence that it is.
    9. Just because "Atari" is this far in, that's no reason they can't be hopelessly behind. Vaporware is the best description of what they have not shown. They look best when they're honest and open. They haven't looked very honest nor open to me.
    10. It's not a good starting point or beginning for anything, let alone a nearly 50-year old brand name.
    11. "Game devs," ha. Until "Atari" shows something beyond 2016's Atari Vault and the Windows-only Tempest 4000, there aren't any games.
    12. "Molds, boxes, etc." ... they don't exist until they've been shown.

Settle down there .. the Wormer has spoken!

So, I guess the big takeaway is that most of these pigeons are willing to be strung along a lot longer than I thought, maybe indefinitely.

I'll give Karl credit though.  He's smart enough to know something's not quite kosher.  He's also brave to post that in Werner Land where failing to drink the Koolaid gets you voted off the island

Yeah but he also thinks I'm Tommy Tallarico :)

It's too bad the Wanker Bros and Lucas don't stop on by here. I'd love to see them defend how they invested monetarily and emotionally into the VCS, only for the takers of their money to be focused on peddling Atari branded apparel.

They seem to be on board and excited about it :)

Ok, cool. The colors all looked off like if it was a pal color scheme displaying wrong on ntsc tv.

Here is a picture going straight to RF into my crt

and the same crt going through the composite converter

It’s very hard to get a clear picture but in person I don’t notice any color change aside from that haze on top that shows up when running through the converter.

Very interesting thread, with a lot of hints.

Question for all of you on the use of Intv and LTO Flash! with a HDMI TV: after playing a game, pushing deeply RESET do you move back to a menu without any problem?

When I do it, black screen and I have to relaunch the frequency setter on the RF to AV box.

Does anybody have the same problem? It is bizarre...

Mine goes back to the menu.

  6. Looks fine to me but i'm pretty used to it this way so it could be displaying a little off. I just notice the colors are a little more saturated on the videos than they are in person. Like the buns and the green on the meat.

Oh yeah and I just remembered I adjusted the color on this input on my TV when I was playing Treasure of Tarmin. I'll try resetting it tomorrow and uploading another video if there's a change.

  7. I use this to capture my game play. I have it running a little funky though through a HDMI converter into my capture device out to my 50" TV. Here are some pics and rough videos of it running from my HDMI converter directly to my TV. The picture quality looks a lot better in person actually better than my AV modded Intellivision. I'm in the US by the way and my Intellivision is a NTSC version.

And here are the different resolutions from my HDMI converter.

I think it will take a very long time, once their denial sets in.  The most vocal of them have now gone from "investors" to "true believers."  Both financially and emotionally, they're heavily invested in the illusion of "that Ataribox?", especially after all this time digging in and making excuses and hurling ridicule at the "haters" and "nonbelievers."  If they were ever to reassess the past, too much would collapse, so they'll stubbornly resist and keep their heads in the sand no matter what happens.  "Atari" could ship them a carton of Ramen noodles with an apology scrawled on a Post-it-Note, and they'll never say a word about it, because they'd rather lose every penny than admit publicly that they were so spectacularly wrong, or that the "haters" were right all along.

    cas in point

I have one of those with my Colecovision. I don't think it can hook into the Collectorvision, however.

The more I have looked into the Collectorvision, it appears it only plays Atari 2600 Roms through an SD Card, but plays actual Colecovision cartridges.

Check the release thread. There are a lot of people posting about it there.  And yes at this time it will only play 2600 on SD card but they are working on a cartridge port adapter.
