This was long ago, so who knows who was in the profits mix? From what I've read, Danzig always took the lions share of profits in the early days anyway. He barely paid the other members anything for their time or contributions. I know there's 2 sides to every story, but he seemed to behave the same way in Danzig, ....if you read interviews with their original guitar player etc., It was always Danzig plus paid players, generally doing what he told them and they had very little say. The version without Danzig (Who declined to be involved at all and was hostile towards them for reforming)...actually functioned as a band rather than one guy...And (I could be wrong) but I always heard it was the courts who decided that the band Had contributed to making The Misfits who they were and not just the one guy...Maybe it was long overdue comeuppens? Personally, I liked the version with Michael Graves on vocs.

P.S. I know you were being tongue in cheek, and yet I answered in a most serious way...I just thought I'd mention the other side :-D .

We'll continue this discussion privately :)

  2. When I first saw that cancer label, it was on a Misfits coffee mug I was about to buy at Guitar Center, so I did Not buy it! I thought why would the Chinese make a coffee mug with a cool Misfits skull on the side and then use something cancerous in its construction and furthermore why would Guitar Center sell such a thing? Yeah, you'd think the American band The Misfits could get a coffee mug made in L.A. or something wouldn't you?

Your big mistake was considering buying Misfits merchandise that was obviously made by Jerry Only ... SHAME ON YOU!!!!! :)

    Hail Danzig!

  3. I'm sure CollectorVision will give instructions in this thread soon after the end of the KS campaign, less than two weeks from now. At that time, I'm hoping our friend TPR will do one last "post-mortem" video to broadcast these instructions via Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and whichever other social media option is available. :)

I'm covered then. TPR is all over my social media feeds :)

I feel like a professional looking kickstarter video with interviews and quotes like that would have helped. I am the first to criticize kickstarters for wasting money on a flashy video that promises more than it could deliver. But, CollectorVision has a good reputation for homebrew games. It reflects negatively on them that they didn't spend any money on a campaign video. Having a flashy video with a few corny jokes is what people expect for a kickstarter campaign, and having a video that cost nothing to produce makes it seem like CollectorVision is not ready for prime time.

I had no problems with the quality of the video in-fact I appreciate its simplicity because it gave the project a realness I felt it needed to get away from the past stigma this project is shadowed over.

  5. I've tried to cook beef to make tacos either by frying it on the stove, or baking it in the oven. I wonder what you guys do with beef if you make your own tacos?

Anyway, here's a few more comments from that shill/needs grammar lessons/high on the wombat juice person:

I looked up what he meant by "quese" and either he's taking about a "queue", or in German, "quese" means "feminine".

Europe had Virgin Megastores in 82'?

  6. I bought a retronic designs usb adapter for colecovision controllers and, after having totally given up on ever being able to use a proper controller on a retropie, I'm trying to figure out how to edit the button layout in CoolCV on windows and cant figure out how to do it. Is there any way to reassign buttons to that the keypad will work? The action buttons and joystick works but its still impossible to get the number pad recognized.

If you can't get it to work I use the vision-adapters and they work right out of the box with no configuration editing needed.

  7. All the other stuff I'm more or less onboard with, but I'm highly skeptical of what tends to be the most important part of any system here, the controllers. If those aren't done well, then it can ruin the whole experience. I'm not sure Intellivision controllers are the best controllers to take inspiration from, even for something of a spiritual successor.

I don't have any issues with the original controllers but I find it interesting that they are following the same design considering how much most people hate the original design and considering how controller design has evolved so much since 1979.

  8. You can tell jzIntv to add a thicker border all around to make the effect less noticeable with the -b flag. (I see mr_me mentioned that a few minutes ago as well.) Something in the range -b10 to -b20 works pretty well.

Can you post an example on how to set the flag ... I'm nothing more than a hack over here :)

  9. That's correct for emulation. There is a row of tiles at the top and a column of tiles on the left that are covered by the expanded border. If the remaining picture were centered than part of the top and left of the screen would be cut off for cartridges that don't expand the border. What's the emulator? Jzintv by default should have a thin border at the bottom.

With a real Intellivision, it use to annoy me that the picture was shifted to the left for cartridges that didn't expand the border. It's either one or the other.

    I'm using jzintv here.

Man, I spent so much time trying to fix this in the config files when I was adjusting the retropie for CRT :) Thanks for the info!

I made a lot of changes to the config files so that's probably why it's not showing the bottom border. I suppose the fact that it's a 8" screen doesn't help :)
