  1. Ads are the less of your worries, at least you know they are there to sell you something, there are tons of other entities interested in your traceable online behavior as in some occurrences it may give away your intentions well before you enact them.

In same cases it is good to know they can track and stop a terrorist act in the making or a pedophile wannabe or a sexual predator about to strike, that is all good.

But they can also infer when you are about to quit your job and maybe inform your company or the likes like, or judging your behavior as dangerous in some regard and indirectly cause the raise of your car insurance prize, or make you ineligible to obtain a mortgage for some god forsake query you typed like "how to lower your monthly payment", "how to deal with a mortgage default", etc... or fail to obtain an interview for that company you really want to work for because it turns out you "like" cats more than dogs and that happens to be a weak predictor of mismatch wrt the company culture .... it's just obscenely weird.

In short, you're giving up way more than your money = NOT FREE :)

Well, thy did successfully dupe people into paying extra money for online multiplayer when they never had to before. Seriously, how can you say taking advantage of consumers like that is not evil?e

Being that you don't actually state how I'm paying for those services (like the others), that likely means you know that they are free, and I had a valid point there but you didn't want to admit defeat. :)

Serious question ... how old are you? It would help me understand where you are coming from and probably be more forgiving :)

WTF: a complement on Atariage? That's a first. I thought everyone had to trash Atari no matter what.

Now, you can buy a Kiii TV box that runs Android for $45. It'll run games, app and Kodi. All of the movies and TV shows ever right there. It has USB ports, wifi, ethernet, a keyboard and a remote control.

You must be living in this thread. There are tons of positive conversations going on in the Forum. People are making games and other people are encouraging this and BUYING THEM!!!! :)

  4. I don't give a rats about that "company" and I know my friend would be out of there in minutes, after he smells something funny. And yeah, he has a wife and kid, he is getting paid alright.

I hate my job and have little respect for most of my "team" but I go every day because I have to pay my rent. Sometimes it's just a paycheck. Nothing wrong with that, as long as everything is on the up and up :)

  5. Youre totally right. Thats the thing that broke my heart the most. Thats why the SNES JR debacle was so puzzling. I still dont understand it. He had so much to lose. The deception was so easy to discover. The internet was on it in five minutes. Ill never understand why he did it. Was he feeling pressure from online critics and YouTube talking heads, most of which had become increasingly skeptical about the project? All he had to do is wait and keep saying a prototype is coming. No trickery needed.

Just look at all these amazing FPGA consoles that are popping up. Surely Mike had the connections to get something real made eventually. Instead he thew it all away. Ill never understand why.

Im sure he started with good intentions but it sure didnt end like that.

  6. Memes. Uh huh.

Check your personal motivations before criticizing others. Im sure youll find theyre not so pure.

I backed the Cameleon because I had met MK many times and I foolishly believed in his dream, and I just wanted to invest in something to help the retro

Let not forget that at one time, Mike was a cool dude that did a lot for the community.

One thing that's a bit strange is that they seem to have blurred out some text printed on the board. Not sure why they would want to do that-- nobody is going to USE those numbers/codes for any malevolent intentions.

Were you around for the Chameleon? If not, look it up and how the fraud was uncovered.

You know what's even more hilarious? When Atari realizes they could probably have made 20 million dollars instead of 3 million dollars if they actually gave people what they had asked for and handled the campaign better. If you give people what they actually ask for or want, people will buy it. If you tell gamers what games would be coming out on your game console, more people might be more interested.

Can you remind us all what exactly we wanted that would make them 20 million? Besides tacos of course!

All those mini arcades from 1UP including Asteroids, Missile Command, Centipede etc are in a weird neutral zone, being "arcade" machines to play at home.

I assumed a lot of those were using NES roms like those old plug n' plays from the early 2000's?
