  1. Yes, but one is tied up in licensing issues, and the other is languishing until I get some free time to work on it. The latter one is a small project but it IS a game (not a demo, not a Cinepak CD, etc.) and it's CD-based.
  2. It's a nice idea, but about 10 years too late. Back when Telegames was being petitioned to release new Jaguar games (1997 timeframe), I think there were close to a thousand fans on the list. But in 1999, just two years later, support had dwindled quite a bit. It took several years just for me to reach the 250 units mark for any of my Songbird games, for example. Bottom line: you're never going to find 1000 people willing to put up that kind of money. But it's fun to dream...
  3. Just FYI, I have exactly one Lynx Soft Case left in stock and will never be able to acquire more. These were produced by hand by the same company that made the Lynx Wallets. It is designed specifically for the Atari Lynx, but would likely work for other portable game systems as well. Have at it!
  4. If it has the Atari logo in the upper left corner, then, yes, it's probably legit. I have one or two of these myself, and they are made on a fairly durable vinyl and have the brass grommets on the edge. Very nice banners!
  5. I'll second this - Greg has put together a wonderful Atari fan site here, and it's especially cool to see real-time updates to the Lynx/Jaguar rankings!
  6. FYI I still have about a half-dozen Protector carts available if anyone wants one.
  7. I don´t know for sure, but I think the logical answer to this is YES. If I am wrong, please someone correct me. The answer is yes.
  8. Those are all excellent games. Shadow of the Beast is kind of a side-scrolling RPG-lite. Slime World is one of the best games on the system (yes, with some nods to NES Metroid, but so much more than that), and Rampage is a fine port of the arcade classic. Enjoy!
  9. When a Stub Jaguar boots (and if you're not holding down a button to force a game to load), it shows you the Stub info including build date on the screen. So it's very easy to identify which version of the Stub you are running.
  10. That would be awesome! One of the few bumps in your cart is the long burn time for such tiny games.
  11. I have never shrinkwrapped my games. To give other sellers the benefit of the doubt, they are probably just trying to say they bought the game new and never opened it and therefore it's just as new as if you bought from me. It would be fun to be able to sell everything shrinkwrapped, but believe me when I say I don't need any more equipment in my house.
  12. Thanks for the questions. I did all the music in both Protector and Protector SE. Prot SE features a variety of ground and background graphics, not just the ones shown in the screenshots on the web pages. Original Protector has a very limited set of background graphics. In both games, the ground and background scroll (parallax scroll, naturally ) and it gives a nice impression of speed in my opinion.
  13. The original Protector, first released in 1999 for the Atari Jaguar, is back in stock! This game has been out of production since 2002, but due to fan demand is now available for a limited time. Once the supply runs out, it is unlikely this game will ever be produced again. 15. That is Telegames USA you are referring to. Telegames UK still very much sells all the classic games (Telegames brand or otherwise).
  16. I suspect most people just aren't visiting the boards on a Saturday night... but here I am. Disclaimer: I sell Lynx systems and games on my Songbird site. So take what I say with a grain of salt. The Lynx is a very cool and powerful system. If you like arcade ports, like Klax, STUN Runner, Rampart, Battlezone, Ms. Pac-man, etc., you will be very happy. The Lynx can also do some nice 3D (mostly pseudo-3D) games, like BattleWheels and Xybots. Slime World is a really cool game with lots of play modes. Shanghai is a great puzzle game, and Checkered Flag is a really engaging racing game. I have published some games such as Championship Rally and CyberVirus. I personally prefer the Lynx II since it is smaller, has better battery life, and stereo sound on the headphone jack. New Lynx units are pretty hard to come by these days (I do have 2 or 3 left in stock), but used Lynxes aren't too hard to find if you prefer that route. See my website below if interested in purchasing some games, or just to check out the games I have published for the system.
  17. The Lynx does need 9V, which is 6 batteries x 1.5V each. No idea what the Lynx would do with only 7.5V (6 batteries x 1.25V each).
  18. Yes, of course. However the progress has been slow for me lately, because I recently switched jobs for the first time in 15 years... I just need to find some more time for testing, then put together a manual and packaging, and then it will be time to build some carts. So I'm definitely still anticipating a 2007 release - probably late summer or early fall.
  19. I can also vouch that there are two versions of this demo cart (from a materials perspective, the game is an unplayable demo in either case), and the one in this auction does look identical to the one I owned a few years back. Randy is correct that this green EPROM cart is the original version, it was some time later Atari made the "nice" (gold label) version.
  20. We have 16 carts built, and they should be ready to sell in about 7-10 days. I will post again once I've updated the catalog and am thus ready for orders. I need to count again how many carts I can do based on the number of boxes I have left. I think it was about 25, but it may be a few more than that. Either way, this is the last run of the original Protector I ever anticipate doing.
  21. Originally in 1999 when I was preparing to release Protector (and the other games in early 2000), I could not find a cheap source for the box inserts - the best I could find was $5-6 per insert at cost! So, I shipped the the initial games with bubble wrap. A year or so later I acquired a small quantity of boxes at a reasonable price, and started including them on Skyhammer which was the most expensive game. And over the years I found more sources, and finally started including box inserts on all Songbird games.
  22. That's of course a fair question. The boxes are sealed in shrinkwrap. I know they are the gold version because I received these direct from Telegames in the recent past when I bought out some leftover merchandise they found in their warehouse, and they have personally assured me that these are the gold CDR version and not the final retail version. I am going to place a small sticker on the exterior of the shrinkwrap indicating these are the gold CDR version. BTW only 6 left!
  23. OK, I now have the IS2 gold CDRs on the Songbird site. I lowered the price to $119.95. Only 7 units are available, and when they're gone I will never be able to restock.
  24. Well, I knew the domain name was expiring soon, but had never received a single warning email from the company. I'm going to have it set to auto-renew to avoid this problem in the future. And yes, I'm VERY thankful that it was so painless to get it working again.
