Can you post screenshots of one of the video mods? -
Any hardware differences between heavy and light sixer?
flammingcowz replied to flammingcowz's topic in Atari 2600
I thought that was what makes it so heavy. They have the same shield? -
I tried searching for years back and couldn't find a definitive answer. I'm wanting to know if there's anything different on the motherboard or switchboard in the heavy vs. the light. I know of someone who is offering to upgrade a light to a heavy, so is the only difference the shielding and case?

I tried to play it on the Activision Anthology for PS2, but the paddle emulation is horrible. Then I tried to play it in Stella, but the arrow keys don't do it properly, and the mouse has a lag to it. Anyone on here have experience doing this?

I originally said that I wouldn't mod mine earlier in this thread. Well now I am ordering a Batari mod for it. If I modded just some 4 switcher or another less rare atari, I would use the heavy sixer a lot less. I don't want it sitting around collecting dust like someone else said. The mod will bring it new life. Also, they aren't any less rare. I could probably even get more money out of it if I ever sell it. And, it will have a very nice video

Intellivision II AV Mod Lots of Interference
flammingcowz replied to jamisonia's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I know the INTV 1 stock output is very good. It looks like it has already been modded, but it also has an insane amount of RF shielding. Is the INTV 2 the same way, or is its stock output a lot worse than the first INTV? -
Intellivision II AV Mod Lots of Interference
flammingcowz replied to jamisonia's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
It might just be the TV. I had an AV modded atari that wouldn't work on any HDTV in my house. On some it would roll the picture and on some wouldn't register at all. On a good old CRT though it was perfect. Try taking to someones house that has one, or even get a cheap one on craigslist. -
I have my original SNES from when I was a kid. A couple years ago the plug where the power goes broke. I want to open it up to fix it but it looks like you need a special screwdriver to do it. So my question is, is there a bit that will open it that can be bought at a normal hardware store? I know they won't have specifically a Nintendo bit, but do they have something that would work?

So I'm ordering a Batari video mod, and was looking at the instructions listed at: http://electronicsentimentalities.com/2600InstallationInstructions.html And to compare, the instructions for Longhorn Engineer's at: http://longhornengineer.com/diy/atarivideomods/ And I have noticed a few differences. On The first site, it only specifies a "six switch" atari instead of a heavy sixer(which is what i'm modding). Longhorn's lists different instructions for each. For example, on Longhorn's light sixer guide you lift 4 pins on the TIA, and on his heavy sixer guide you only lift 2 pins. On the Batari instructions, it has you lift all 4 regardless. Which one is right for the Batari mod for me? Another difference is that on Longhorn's it tells you to cut 1 resistor below the TIA in addition to 2 things above the TIA. The Batari instructions tell you "two components need to be removed from the circuit board on 6 switch and jr systems." and in the pictures only show 2 things to remove. In the next picture however, it shows that the resistor below the TIA is removed also. So does this extra resistor need to be removed? Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to mess up a perfectly good heavy sixer.

I finally made it to the 4th level and got the extra life. Also found out that the alien gets a lot bigger, nice touch

My times for the past week May 1st - May 7th All times are approx. but as accurate as I can get without literally timing myself Intellivision: Lock N Chase - around 1200 minutes (Still trying to get past level 9. I swear it's impossible) Utopia - 120 minutes Astrosmash - 30 minutes Nova Blast - 30 minutes 2600 H.E.R.O. - 60 minutes Ms Pac Man - 30 minutes Defender - 10 minutes
-
It's already hard enough to get 10k, that should be the an extra life. Or maybe 15k so that it isn't too easy. Level 4 is just insane
-
First high score I think it would be good to add a way to get more lives at a certain score, if there is already a way, I didn't find it. And maybe some type of easter egg for people to find.

OK I have found what I needed. Please close

I'm looking to buy a mod board for my heavy sixer. If you have one, let me know a price.

FS: 3do system, Games (Night Trap) willing to split up

The first game I remember playing was Road Rash on the 3d0. Too bad it's missing from here -
someone should do Shark! Shark!
flammingcowz replied to toptenmaterial's topic in Atari 2600 Programming
That's funny, I was just thinking the same thing -
I have a heavy sixer that works fine. Looking to trade it for a composite/svideo modded atari. I would rather a Batari mod, but as long as it's a clean video and not just a homemade resistor job, it will do. If you are interested, please PM with a screenshot and what mod it is.

Where's Rom Hunter?

Didn't want to make a new thread, so hopefully someone reads this post. I just got Utopia and Nova Blast for $2 each at a local store. What do they usually go for? Can't really find a price guide like there is for 2600
