  1. Shigeru Miyamoto sure wasn't lying when he said there would be things you can do with the system without buying any seperate games! Built-in PictoChat, included Metroid demo, wireless game sharing... I'm peeing myself with excitement (and not moving away from the computer to do it)!
  2. Lol, someone on an Atari forum worrying about how good the graphics in a game are
  3. My first system was actually the original Game Boy with good old Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land. I didn't get a system of my own until the N64 came around, as I mainly played my older brother's systems, like the Sega Master System and Sega Mega Drive. Speaking of whom, my older brother's first system was the NES. My Mum and Dad both had C64s for their first systems. My dad is 50 and he still plays Monty On The Run, albeit on an emulator My mum, who is also 50, plays Sonic on the Mega Drive more.
  4. Thanks so much, I'll look into that! And, getting back on topic, I found this neat little compilation at PalmGear: http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...re&prodid=59767 - it features 7 classic VCS games! It costs $$$ for the full version, but there is a demo there.
  5. Aaron - Hi, I've done tons of PC dev and a little GBA dev, and I'm looking to get into Palm dev. What is a good, free dev tool? I prefer coding in C/C++
  6. I believe they are NES units, although some of them have been produced with SNES-like cases to trick the not-so-well-informed buyers.
  7. I've got a couple of Handspring Visor Deluxes in the mail, one for me and one for my brother. I've been looking around for some good software sites, and www.palmblvd.com seems to be pretty good.
  8. (^ No edit button?) Well, we know of at least one games company that likes to bulldoze games... Nintendo! Apparently, back in 1996 they bulldozed a pile of pirate systems/multicarts. Of course, no show of strength would be complete without every news agency in Denmark being invited along. So there you have it fokes, we know that there definitely are bulldozed carts lying in a garbage dump somewhere. These ones just happen to be in Brazil and be pirate Nintendo games.

  10. http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55582 ^ I posted this before you, please check better before posting!
  11. Update official Nintendo DS game list, note the game at the top of the list, "Atari Classics"! Wonder how many games could fit on those 128 MB carts? And the DS is powerful enough that they could even throw in a Jaguar game or two!
  12. So, when will Mr. GlobeTrotter be paying me a visit down here in Middle Earth
  13. By CPU, I assume you are talking about your computer's system unit. A CPU is a tiny chip inside your computer, not the computer itself. Anyway, enough ranting, the cheapest way to hook controls up to your computer is via an old keyboard. Basically, you get an old keyboard and rip it open, then solder the controls onto the keyboard's board so that when you press the controls it shorts the points on the board just like a key press would. This lets emulators pick up the button presses as key strokes.
  14. You should be able to have any optical disc resurfaced except if it has scratches on the label side - then you're screwed
  15. I'm only gonna be getting the Nintendo Revolution. Nintendo is trying to be innovative and improve gameplay, whereas Sony is just increasing specs and slapping on TiVo-like stuff etc. As this is on a classic gaming forum, everyone here should know that gameplay comes before graphics It will still be interesting to see what Sony and Microsoft come up with though. If they do end up doing some innovation, I might have to get their machines too, but at the moment it looks like only Nintendo will deserve my cash
