Just got back from Canada, and remembered that A&W is still going strong up there. We don't really have too many in the US... though I seem to recall one I went to in Maryland, and one in New York. But A&W is pretty popular in Canada. What I really miss... was Roy Rogers. They were awesome when I was growing up in the DC Metro Area. Gotta check out Long John Silvers... haven't been to one in over two decades... also... Arthur Treachers. Haven't been there in a while too.

No, the entire picture is fake. There's not really a tortilla there, and the fish stick is actually plastic.

Ok... I'm confused. I don't mean to brag, but I'm fairly intelligent, have multiple degrees, and I'm usually pretty cognizant of what's going on. Can you explain this? Are you saying lack of sex at home allows people to communicate easier with the opposite sex on message boards???

I still prefer GOG to places like Steam... just because you can download the installers. But my fear is that the Indie games may no longer have the ability to be played in the future. The Atari one... figure at some point it'll lose connectivity and be Inop. Hope would be that they just release or open it up before it closes... whenever point in the future that'll be.

I thought they were going to have a DRM loader on an otherwise open system. I picked that up from here a while back. Honestly... I used to hate DRM... still sort of do. But over the years I've gotten much more accepting of it... Like our digital overlords want of us.
-
I knew it... there's another group of discussion boards on here I don't have access to, isn't there?
-
I'd like to see what their DRM environment is supposed to be / look like.
-
Haha... I don't understand why there is always so much drama on the Atari boards.

Please add me to the waiting list. Thx!

I understand, and you make an excellent point. I don't have aspersions for what the AtariBox is or isn't... but I do think I'll get what I ordered. If not, then I'm out $225. There is some emotion here driving the decision, and I acknowledge that.
-
I knew the risks. I'm a big enough fan of the brand that I'm willing to take it. I'm not going to say $225 is crumbs like Nancy Pelosi... but my world won't end. I've thought about getting a streaming Linux machine for the TV for a while, and I basically bought it for the Atari logo on the front. It would be neat to play some of the less demanding GOG and Steam indie games in 4k if I can too. I don't think anyone believes this is Atari's chance at competing with Sony and Microsoft. What I am curious about is why so many people have gone all Templar about the people who backed it? Surely it can't be because you're that worried about me losing $225?

Thank you good sir. My 8 hour flight in 15 minutes will be much better. Copied all games as-is into a games folder and that fixed it.

I bought an Onyx one with the joystick. I may go back and get the newer joystick too.

Hey guys... I have 200 ROMs loaded on an 8g SD card, but when I use SD Card Browser on the 2600 Portable, it does nothing. Any ideas? Thanks!!!

T4K should be pretty cool. What else will it come with?

I LOVED this game on the PC back in the day (this is the Atari ST version). But it was such a shitty game... but man o man... back in 1985, I played this constantly... And this one... Chuck Yeager's Flight Simulator (also Atari ST version): And who can forget Sub Battle Simulator... oh man.... LOOOOOVED this game: Also loved this game, Cyber Empires, known as Steel Empires in Europe (Atari ST version):

I don't know if it counts... but Conquest of Camelot by Sierra... that was like 4-disks and if I'm not mistaken, I installed them all to the hard drive. I suppose you COULD play them from disk, but that would be brutal. Back in like... 1999-2000, I had an Atari MEGA-4 ST w/ Supra Drive and monitor that some dude gave me for free from his garage. I played all kinds of games on there, and then I ended up giving it away too a few years later.

Shoot... everyone used to do that back in the late 1990s on eBay. I even remember doing it myself! Hahaha... hardly anyone does that anymore though. -
I'm offended.

Hey is Realms of Arcania any good? I recall playing the first one back in the day... seemed somewhat similar to AD&D Gold Box games, except in VGA... wondering if it's worth my time...

Probably a stupid question, I have to assume it's so I can load Wii games. I haven't kept up with the Wii since the N64, and never had a Game Cube. My wife bought a Wii like... I dunno 12 years ago or something? My wife and daughter play it all the time (Wii resort), but it occured to me I always see that SD card slot. Can I just load ROMs on there and have at it? Or is that simply just too obvious and stupid? Did they sell games on SD card? I seem to recall Nintendo DS games were on an SD card (never had one). Thanks!

Hahah... that's right, I think I knew this at some point and forgot. Does it say it on the back of the box or somewhere? Maybe it even said it in the intro and I was so oblivious I just totally missed it. It's a pretty decent game. I would say it's not complicated, and as far as strategy games go... it's pretty simplistic. Basically, you start off with a city. You can improve it by buying a few buildings which allow you to produce more (usual thing). You levy taxes, and have a basic concept of keeping them happy. Like... 1/10th what you'd have to deal with in Sim City. You also then have to conquer other lands and other cities. You win when all the land is under your control. The territory can change too... I think there's a few options. It's similar to Warlords for the PC, but perhaps a bit more in-depth, and with no heroes, and no mini-quests.

I think it should. Since it has multiple USB ports in the back, it should be as easy as mounting a drive as one would with Linux anyway. Hopefully it's open or configurable enough. One thing I wanted to make sure of though, is that I'd always be able to reload the base Atari software, just in case I screwed everything up. But I do hope to be able to use it somewhat as a mini computer. Yeah, I know... the delivery. I do know what I'm getting into... I'm just being positive about it. I want them to do well. If I'm wrong... I'll say "You told me so!" hehe...

Shoot... I have no problems being the opposing view point. Sometimes I enjoy it. So flame away.

Just going to throw it out there again... If Ports 2.5 ever comes out... I would really, really, really appreciate the possibility that this game makes it to the final result, with mouse support. For the record, I don't understand what the point of the crying dude in the beginning is for. I just chalk that up to cheesy late 80s / early 90s nonsense.
