  1. Happy holidays, everyone! I'll give this a shot, since I read this Lynx forum regularly and post every once in a while. [*]Sex: Not as often as I'd prefer it to be. [*]Age: Old enough to know better, young enough to keep on going nonetheless. [*]Country: United States [*]Collects for: Lynx, Supervision, Gamate, Mega Duck/Cougar Boy, Game.com, Game Master, Game King, Virtual Boy, Megadrive/Genesis (mildly) ... I could keep going but I think that's just about enough. [*]Favorite game developer: C&E Inc. (Taiwan), original creators of Super Fighter. [*]Favorite game (any system): An easy tie between Super Fighter (IBM-PC; DOS), Alone in the Dark (IBM-PC; DOS) and Neuromancer (Apple II). [*]Top five Lynx games (in no particular order): Fat Bobby, Toki, Qix, Double Dragon, Robotron: 2084. [*]Occupation: I work, all right. [*]TV-shows: I don't really watch television, but the original (1980's) G.I. Joe cartoon is an awesome reflection of society. I also like Speed Racer, because he says, "Oh" and freaks out, anytime something happens. [*]Music: Ad-Lib OPL2 music from IBM-PC (DOS) games is delightful. [*]Most anticipated Lynx game: Ultravore would be nice. Hear that, Carl? Heh, heh. [*]Other collecting habits: I collect dust without trying. Dust really seems to have an attachment to me. [*]Hobbies/refreshing activities: videogame development, scarfing food, rolling my eyes at high speeds. There you go. That was actually amusing. See? I just love rolling those eyes.
  2. Merry Christmas, forum patrons! I've been aware of the B&C Computervisions reproductions of several unproduced games for the Atari Lynx. I never did take the time to investigate the story behind them, although I'd bet it is a rather simple one. Can someone tell me exactly how and why this company produced these game cartridges...? They're not official Atari EPROM boards from the testing phase of development, so why would they fetch any real demand from collectors? Maybe just because some collectors are uninformed? I'd think the only real demand would be from diehard Lynx gamers who wish to play unfinished games on their real hardware... Thanks in advance to whomever unravels this story to me. I, personally, don't collect any of the B&C releases, only the ones on real Atari EPROM boards... Take care, all.
  3. Merry Christmas, forum patrons! I can confirm this. On the trip to Classic Gaming Expo 2003, I brought one of my Lynx II systems with me. During the trip I plugged it into the cigarette lighter adaptor (Atari model, of course) and handed it back to one of my buddies in the back seat (he'd never played w/a Lynx before... the poor, unfortunate soul). Darned thing shorted and wouldn't start up. I'd never had problems with any of my Lynx machines before, and later testing found the lighter adaptor -wasn't- broken... In any case, I arrived at the CGE2003 without a working Lynx machine, so the games I bought from Songbird went unplayed until I returned home. D'oh!
  4. Greetings. Just hoping to *BUMP* this topic up a bit, in hopes someone comes across it who may be of some help. Though after a projected 75 reads to this topic, it looks as though no one here as ever finished Power Factor. A shame. Take care, all.
  5. Congratulations Songbird on another great victory for the Lynx! This is extremely exciting news, especially for an avid collector such as myself. Thanks for fighting the paperwork trail up until the end result! Shows real support for our veteran handheld. I'll be seeing you again this year at the CGE, Carl, and personally buying a copy of the game. Really looking forward to another new release. Bravo!
  6. Greetings, forum patrons. I've searched the forum archives (Lynx) for this question, but didn't locate a match. Thus, I hope someone may still be able to answer. I have been muddling through Power Factor on the Lynx, and haven't been successful in picking up all pieces required to finalize the bomb. If you don't finish the bomb, the level 11 (final) boss is not defeated. I admit to using cheats in addition to playing fair, but no cheat exists (that I've found) to get all bomb pieces. Below is a screenshot (beware, a 3kb image - gasp!) of my success thus far: I have attempted to return to finished levels using the warp cheat, thinking it may reveal additional bomb pieces. This doesn't happen, as level items are simply repeated. Defeating bosses doesn't reveal new pieces. Hmm... Any suggestions, folks? All helpful comments appreciated. I'm working to archive Atari Lynx game endings, and this one has stumped me for quite a while. Thanks for reading! Take care, all.
