i dont care to much for pole position II . i like the menus and the fuji logo billboards but the animation is just so choppy . and im sure it had to be the programing because most other 7800 games have silky smooth animation

i have found that the best cities for atari stuff in the US are up north . in the northern part of the states most houses have basements and attics where people can accumulate junk/atari treasures for decades and then release it to the public in yard sales and flea markets . my cousins up in chicago keep finding atari and nes stuff all the time . down here in the south, people are lucky to even have a garage, i know i dont so stuff does not sit in their houses for too long . i dont know how people live in Israel but from what i heard its mostly apartments so i dont expect apartment dwellers to accumulate that much junk/treasures. i also agree with the theory that ebay has caused much of the dry up.

Tecmo all-in-one Jakks controller announced
Mr Egg replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
i only play the ms pacman stick . the activision and atari i have in their original packaging since i have all the 2600 games i need and the emulation is far from perfect -
thets really bad news . i was hoping for a "Lords of the realm" revival . just like black isle . makers of "Fallout" another great company goes down the drain.

food figth is my favorite 7800 game as well . as much as i love the 7800 it was never going to compete with the more technologicaly advanced NES. the biggest misteake made at atari was to not carry the nes when they got the offer and demand 2600 backwards compatability . can you imagine it; an atari branded nes, all black, and able to play the nes games we all love as well the vast collection of 2600 games. who know were the real atari would be now. that event i feel is the historical nexus of the story of atari . having said that it is sad to admit it but the 7800 never stood a chance

this thing's main competition will be the Ngage so i doubt it will exceed 200 . still a bit pricey for a handheld.and if its more than 200 i doubt many will buy it no matter how cool it is . that is the way the turboexpress got killed by inferior systems back in the day

Game demos and their effectiveness in garnering purchases
Mr Egg replied to Adrian M's topic in Modern Console Discussion
demos are very important to me . it shows me how commited a company is to its prduct and open to feedback and suggestions from players to improve the game before release like codemasters did with operation flashpoint . instead of just hiding in secrecy and updating the product later after everyone was dissapointed with the original full release and has already forgotten the game one perfect example of this would be Mafia by Illusion -
multiplayer definitedly. i was looking into bf 1942 but im not to much into the idea of being able to drive vehicles . cool concept but seems like an invitation for people to goof of instead of figth

goodwilh has really gone down the tube around here. in the main houston store they dont even bother to put stuff in display anymore they just bring out storage bins and you have to rumage trough them . value village is also not that good either since they changed from purple heart they test everithing and if it works they keep it behind the register at exagerated prices . if it does not work or is untestable thay put it out on the flor and label it as is . last atari item i found was a week ago i got an 4 switch woody 2600 for 6 bucks but after trying it out i get the dreaded black screen

does anyone play Day of Defeat. i play that game a lot but after a year + of playing it it is getting kind of old , not enough maps or weapons and with every update it seems to me that it is moving away from realism. i am looking for alternatives to this game . mainly interested in wwII games like dod as i dislike counterstrike to no end . any suggestions ?

atari was stil huge in the rest of the world and if the nintendo was expensive here imagine somewere else with lesser incomes and weaker currencies. in may parts of the world the term used for video game was "Atari"; the fame that atari had gained was not going to die overnigth,

anywere in the world dc current is the same so you may want to consider salvaging an ac adapter from either a european megadrive generation one or a famicom. other adapters to consider are from cordless phones , answering machines , and inkjet printers if its rated 9VDC output and the amperage is over 1000Ma you can easily convert it to use on your lynx
-
buzzing stands for arcing . better replace that ac adapter for one with a better amp rating higher equals better

goodwill is usually dry in my area but i just found an apple //c at value village
-
i could get the spice channel by using this trick. this worked in my area up untill late 90's when they switched to digital. i also made long coper wire antennas and at times i could watch channels from hundreds of miles away . analog technology was truly magical

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Mr Egg replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
i finally get a proper find in houston and at the last place i expected ; my neighborhood value village which has been dry for months; these are my finds two neo geo joysticks $3 each one neo geo power supply $2 one atari 600xl with no powersupply $3 one apple IIc with working powersuply $5 one 4 switch woodgrain atari 2600 console no accesories $4 one NES with NARC game inside no accesories $6 i cant test the neo geo stuff so that is for trade . the atari 600 xl has no power supply so im unable to test it .the appple IIc works , it just needs a boot disk . the NES worked perfect after the madatory alcohol cleaning to eliminate "The Blink". the narc game works .the 2600 will not power on but i suspect it to be the infamous voltage regulator if i can i will replace the regulator and hope for the best if not i will trade it for a non working 2600JR to fix mine. in conclusion a very good day for me -
i remember kay be toys had a similar offer around 1989 , to bad i didnt have any money back then

looks cool , just as long as they stiffend up the hinge , i hated the SP screen hinge and how loose it was . defenitedly more weigth on this screen it seems . cant wait for the performance comparisons to the new playstation handheld

thanks for the input guys . main reason i want an xbox is for the emulators . but i did want to get this game to complete my futurama collection . if i do get the xbox i will get futurama used
-
that sucks .o well il just get an original gba to play my old GB games
-
i love futurama and wanted to get an xbox just to play this game. has anyone played it? i have read plenty of reviews and it is alway the same thing , not very good. any suggestions
-
i found the shoulder buttons prone to cathing dirt and pushing it inside . that could cause the problem? i also found the flip screen a bit floppy. i also hated playing regular game boy games because they stick out too far in front . at least on the original gba they stuck out of the way to the rear maybe the DS will be better
-
i had both as well but i feel that individual game genre preferences affected peoples affection for each system , i loved the genesis for all the polygon based simulators which was a huge thing at the time, i loved M1 abrams and MIG 29 fulcrum , and the SNES for colorful rpgs/strategy games my faves were shadowrun and flashback

here is what i know about american AC adaptors .AC voltage in north america is always 110 volts ac. the lynx is 9 volts DC 1 amp . most AC adapters indicate amperage in MA which stands milliamps, so 1 amp = 1000 milliamps . voltage is very self explanatory it has to be the exact number specified on the device or as close as possible . get too much voltage in will fry the lynx to little and it may not turn on or the backligth may dim . amperage is supposed to be 1000ma or 1 amp it is not a problem if the ampearge is more because that means that the adapter has more capacity and will not harm the lynx . if the amperage is less then the required the lynx will put too much strain on the ac adapter causing it to fail or overheat . i would recomend statying away from multi voltage adapters specially the ones from radio shack. not only are they over priced but are usually rated at 300Ma. this low amperage will drive the lynx but will cause the ac adapter to melt or fail prematurely . polarity is extrmely important , i believe on the lynx it is center positive but you better check on your EU model . my ac adapter is 8.7 volts 1000ma and i drive both my lynx and my 7800 with it with no problems it is originally from a nes bootleg pad . ac adapters can be easily had at most trifth stores and if the plug dont fit they can be bougth at most radio shacks. hope this info helps
