people are just so excited at the prospect of a new VCS like device that it is expected that everyone will bring out their extensive wishlists. -
for me it has to be H.E.R.O. , i never owned it but i used to play it a lot at the arcades . dont know why jakks did not include it on the activision stick

that is why it is important that the device have a cartridge port and should have built in games like the bootleg nes pads -

in order for this device to be a succes i feel it must have broader appeal it must be able to play more modern games as well as classics. my idea would be a 7800 on a stick a la jakks . everyone knows that the 7800 can do arcade ports very well as well as atari 2600 games. i believe you have to capture 3 markets ; the classic market ie atari2600 . the classic arcade market ie jakks MS pacman . and the new platformer market ; jakks spongebob and spiderman . never the less a cartridge slot is essential for expansion. price i would feel should be $35. as far as looks i would like it to look like the activision stick from jacks very 80's -
lets not forget m1 abrams and 688 attack sub
-
i love playing M1 abrams . a very unapreciated polygon games and one of the intruductory games of the genesis . you can get lost for hours just exploring the battlefield

ms pacman is very responsive on mine, i do make sure to play on a level surface

most 7800's with power supply and proline controlers will fetch at least $50 on ebay , with 7800 games included alittle bit more . with box and foam inserts i would say $60 to $80 is realistic ebay value. i bougth mine on Ebay for $15 but only because it had no controllers or power supply

R. SHACK games for classic systems

i had a friend the worked at IU and he told me that the thing that killed IU was the name brand large appliances and the books.small electronics sold fine but the washers would never move. the books did not make that much money and still required man power . this was at a time when Best Buy was just getting started . the bigest thing that killed UI was that unlike BB that had 10 or more medium sized stores in one city. UI only Had 1 with astronomilcal costs in upkeep . frys has had better approach to this model by selling the cheapest asian brands they can find under one roof they dont have to have that many sales to make a profit. -
it tis defenitedly heavier. i do like te fact that they used springs in the joystick action instead of ruber membranes does make it noisy though

the color coded drawers suck . they are always jumbled aroud and you always have tru sorth it all out so you can find anithing. it seems the staff never bothers to arrange the stock . thy no longer sell any electronic learning kits at the store only mail order . that is really sad . instead of selling electronic kits for kids to get into electronics , like i did. they only sell sharper image like crap that promotes ignorance it is truly sad. in all fairnes the thing i do like about the new RS is they no longer hound you for your address and zipcode -
Doom for gba is awful. graphics are very low res . blood is green goo. unplayable on non backlit gba. sligthly playable on gba sp. bosses and cusscenes here cut from the game . control is a nigthmare.total half assed port effort at a classic fps

Mr Egg replied to ANTHONY ATARI's topic in Classic Console Discussion
true. radio shack is becoming more of a sprint pcs outlet than an electronic hobbiyst store . no one knows anithing about electronics ant the stock is not arranged properly . im lucky that there is a fry's electronics about 20 miles from here . they at least try to have an electronic components section . although the employees are just as ignorant as the current RS ones -
i believe in tring the gear myself instead of reviews . for those guys who were dissapointed with the stick there could be thousands that are perfectly pleased. that is why i always buy this type of hardware at walmart . if it is bad no hassle in returning it . buy from amazon and you are on your on
