NES Toploader, is this bad caps? Video included.

Can you post pics now? -
Yeah that was something I considered, and considered maybe in the back of the console perhaps to put a button. But you wouldn't have to cut a huge access to go in and reach the button you can simply add a panel mount button to the console and run wires and solder. But either way I wouldn't want to do it in the front where it may be an eyesore(meaning not blending in with the rest of the console's aesthetics) but I'm still considering it maybe.

I would check the connections here from the flex circuit as well to see if it needs to be cleaned along with the connector they plug into.

If like derFunkenstein said about the transmitter(I'm sure that is what he originally meant to say) how is the transmitter powered? Does it have batteries or does it have to be powered by a usb plug, and if so do you have anything else near by to plug that into. The transmitter can't get power from the headphone jack so would need to be powered somehow. EDIT: Sounds like a fun internal mod to try and do now. EDIT 2: I see the one here https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=9722&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIt-j2hZ_Z2QIVg4qzCh135QYFEAQYASABEgKe2fD_BwE has a built in battery you charge when it is hooked via usb so I guess you wouldn't need to have a usb outlet near by if you had one like that with built in battery.

What are the rules about posting game play videos of PS4 games.
SignGuy81 replied to AtariDude's topic in Sony PlayStation 4
Don't quote me but I'm pretty sure I think that it would be allowed. -
I just looked at some pics. It has a voltage regulator. It has two 74 series logic ICs which i would replace with 4000 series CMOS for something battery powered if not wanting to use voltage regulator but however it has also another chip I can't make it out what it says from google pics, probably an encoder chip which probably has to have 5V. Point being though is the voltage regulator though in this would be why it takes such big batteries. It can probably be replaced with this though now And could probably get away with AA batteries I would think but then the whole case has to be redesigned. I'm not sure how long the C cell batteries last in the thing but replacing the regulator with the buck converter should make the batteries last a lot longer than they do.

NES Toploader, is this bad caps? Video included.
SignGuy81 replied to boogieman!'s topic in Classic Console Discussion
I have a good feeling that is probably going to be it. You mentioned it did it too with AV but I think not as noticeable. Well the RGB mod probably pulls more current with all the chips so that could explain why the problem is more pronounced with the RGB mod(because the cap is having an even harder time keeping up). I would just wait to post pics after you try the caps and you get everything in order. EDIT: You can order an entire cap kit from console5 pretty cheap if you wanted to go ahead and replace them all. If you see any others besides what you ordered that are bulged or have leaked onto the board go ahead and replace them(and clean the board) as those may be the problem. -

Did you have any issues pre-mod or just after the AV then the RGB? EDIT: Can you upload pics of the work? -

I didn't think I would like it but I've had a lot of fun on the Wii U playing it with my daughter and still do. I wouldn't like that to be a system for myself though especially not if my only system, as there just isn't enough of the games that I like to play on it and that is the biggest issue for me.

You must be speaking of another thread which you have linked to so no I did not read that post that you are talking about as I'm too lazy to click a mouse button and just as such too lazy to complain about a 512KB game that doesn't exist not working in a cart that says it will. So I should have looked at the link you provided for the proof but then see the above statement where you aren't so sure so you are asking?

So if I give you a bag and say it will hold 1 million dollars, but you don't know of anywhere to get 1 million dollars, my bag won't hold 1 million dollars?

I agree with everything Osgeld said in post number 7, I just like to always try at least 2 TVs as I've seen some systems do things on one TV that they don't on another. Even though I don't believe the TV is the issue sometimes it helps to try another TV anyway which may pickup something the other one didn't. For example I have an LCD TV that will not accept AV modded(simple AV mod) 2600s, while the CRT I had did just fine. Then that same CRT also accepts RF on 2600s just fine as well, but then put a different system in thru RF and no color. Put that system in my LCD through RF and bam, color.

Is the working Jr also NTSC and not AV modded? You mentioned testing with only the projector because you have nothing else with an NTSC tuner and you tested it with your XEGS which works fine but didn't mention the other working Jr you had.
