It was BITD. Really impressive going from Intellivision Space Battle to Star Raiders.

Since most games play just fine, the crashing ones are probably bad ROMs and not something wrong with the AtariMax. Which ones are crashing on you

Since you are in US, I'd recommend eBay seller retro console accessories: http://www.ebay.com/usr/retro_console_accessories?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 I've gotten a good number of cables from them and they all work good. Their stock of cables comes and goes. Wait a week and they will probably have more.

I've substituted the larger 2 mb chips for the 1 mb and they work fine. No reason mix and match shouldn't work as long as its a 2mb game being burned.

Completely agree 100% about BSG. Wanted it for longest time. When I finally could play it, just can't get into it. Have more fun playing Downfall on the Jag.

I got one BITD. It was an upgrade from an Intellivision. Better graphics and more importantly, games that I played in the arcade. (Never had a VCS until 2 years ago)

I'd recommend check back with RetroRGB.com every now and then. I managed to get an RGB kit from them last year. It was well worth getting as the picture is perfect through an xrgb mini

That had to take a lot of practice. Seemingly random mazes filled with instant one hit deaths. Great job learning and playing the game.

Is anyone playing this game? Or are they all collectables sitting on shelf somewhere? So much interest before it came out. Flurry after release. Then nothing. Play the game !

Native demo is one incomplete level without sound and no players ship collision detection. If I also remember right, there is no collision detection with bonus objects. It does however look very impressive. Worth putting on on a cart to demo the Jag to others.

I am also interested in these repo carts. I also think they should be marked different so it is clear they are not originals. Good idea with the red pcb and writing inside the box. Maybe something on the label too.

However, I did play the betas and RCs for many hours. Final version levels are tweaked enough so you have to relearn some of them.

Able to sit down 2nd time with the game. Played twice. Second score is below. Levels are tweaked just enough so that they are not the same as the last RC. To me bonus levels are too boring. Can take as long as you want in them. Slow methodical shooting completes level just about every time. Would have recommended a countdown timer to force the player to go faster. As you advance further in the game, the timer would be lower forcing the player to make more difficult shoots to complete it. Not downing on the game. It is a lot of fun. Lots of really neat details: return from pause countdown timer; ship able to move off screen to other side on bonus levels; beautiful smooth graphics; great control of the ship. One other thing. Anyone discover any cheat codes? I got a couple of cheat codes by what I thought was a reliable source. Maybe the source did not know the game that well as they don't work.

Just make your own. Easily enough found.

The article: The price, spec and hardware are still unclear, but if (and that's quite a big if) they can be made to work at a reasonable price, and be in the shops before Christmas ... Total vaporware. Pure wouldn't this be cool if ... without any indication work was started on it.
