  1. People should appreciate the repetitive drudgery you are going through to make these. The fun of making them quickly goes away.
  2. As requested, cart pictures below. I have 80 of the 93c86an eeproms. I've tried a couple of different ones in the socket. I'll make a cart with a different pcb to see if it's a pcb problem. You've got me thinking the eeproms may be bad. My programmer cannot read from them. I'm not sure if writes work as it cannot read to verify. A US ebay seller has at93c86-sc27 and at93c86-si27eeproms. I've ordered a couple of each. I will not post any more bug reports until I can verify correct reading and writing to eeprom.
  3. 1) No free ship awarded at 75k, 125k nor 200k 2) High score not saved on power cycle. Had saved 4 high scores. Exited to main menu. Power off. 3) Last such crash occurred when exiting Rebooteroids high score screen to menu screen Rebooteroids - 20160402-0913.ROM "K" jaguar Real cart with 2kb eeprom (93c86an)
  4. Rebooteroids - 20160402-0913.ROM "K" jaguar Real cart with 2kb eeprom (93c86an) Bugs: 1) Free ship not awarded at 50000 (have not reached 125000) 2) Inputed high scores not saving on power cycle 3) One time only - crash at end of wave - white lines and then black screen. Looks like old tube tv turning off. Videond sound does not come back. Power cycle needed.
  5. Yes I do. I have 86 chip. However, my GQ-4X won't read it. The programmer is made by mcumall. Their forum had posts only of people who could not successfully read 86 chips. It will read a 66 chip. I put that in to get a dump. I dumped it again, both as a 93c66 and as a 93c86. It's attached. if this is not helpful, just let me know and I'll stop posting them. I will work more on trying to get the programmer to read a 86 chip. 93c66a eeprom dumps.zip
  6. 66 chip My programmer could not read the 86 chip. It's a GQ-4X I'LL dump again later
  7. Attached is an eeprom dump from a real cart with "white noise" crash [Rebooteroids - 20160331-1842.ROM] I had erased the eeprom before starting the game it crashed on. The data is just from that game. I was not sure how you used the eeprom. I dumped it as: 8 bit 8 bit byte swapped 16 bit 16 bit byte swapped One other thing, I had to use a 93c66 eeprom (which is larger than 93c86). My programmer (GQ-4X) could not read nor write to a 93c86. Most likely it's a programmer problem as I could not write to it. Should have more help next week as someone took my offer of sending them some 93c86s If you need more eeprom dumps, let me know how you want it read or I can just dump it the way I did here. 93c66 eeprom dumps.zip
  8. I'm testing on real cart with socketed eeprom. I'll have time tonight to try the new rom. When it crashes i'll pull the eprom, dump it and post the file.
  9. [Rebooteroids - 20160330-1721.ROM] works ok burned to real cart. What a great game. Love the music ramping up as you play. Is the beat the old Kinks song "You really got me"? If anyone making test carts does not want to wait for 93C86AN to ship from China, PM me and I'll send a couple to you.
  10. I bought near launch. Games I got with system were Cybermorph (pack in), Trevor McFur and I think Dino Dudes. Played Cybermorph for a couple of hours. Then tried Trevor McFur. So unimpressed I was ready to return the system. Dino Dudes is what made me decide to keep it. I decided to give Cybermorph a try a few years ago. Played it through to the end. Even more unimpressed
  11. 2600RGB from Tim Worthington. See: http://etim.net.au/2600rgb/ I have one but have not yet installed it. He also makes the NESRGB. I installed that in a NES and using an upscaler it provides a perfect picture. No reason why the 2600RGB should not also do that. Same design theory.
  12. Just curious, compatibility with what? I know Bug! and Bug Too! don't work. Otherwise everything I've tried from Trurip runs fine. Images that are cue /multiple bin have to be converted, but that's an easy process.
  13. I installed an EEPROM socket. Same crash with 2k 93C86AN. For fun put in 4k 93C66 and same crash. I noticed on real cart no music plays on initial title screen. On skunkboard there is music on that screen.
  14. Rom is split and cart made correctly. Program crashes. Game passes validation. Title screen appears but no music. Title screen fades out like on skunkboard but video never comes back. Maybe no sound can help with troubleshooting.
  15. First impressions of game: Love the "2000" treatment. Most Minter-like Rotary controller option. I made one and will try it later Option to input cheat codes. Like that When playing - points at first impression seem to block view of asteroids. However points have degree of opaqueness. See if I get better vision with more play Much more to explore Edit to add: Rapid fire !!!! Point multiplier
  16. "K" jaguar. Does not work as real cart. Runs fine from skunkboard. REAL CART: Made real cart by burning to roms. Title screen comes up okay but NO music. Title screen blanks out and video never returns. Waited a minute and still had blank screen. Never had any music entire time powered on. Attached photo of title screen that does appear. SKUNKBOARD: Flashed to skunkboard. Game runs fine. Title screen appears WITH music. Screen goes blank. After about 15 seconds menu screen appears. Game works normally. Can go into different option screens. Start game and it plays okay. When game ends goes to high score screen with B to options screen. Music entire time.
  17. What bugs? I've been using a Rhea for 3 weeks now with no problems. Not sure if the gd-rom game menu is similar to the Rhea's. I've figured out a way to organize with the Rhea menu system to display by genre, etc. See my post #259 on on page 13 of the Assembler forus thread. http://assemblergames.com/l/threads/official-rhea-discussion.57377/page-13
  18. The maker of the gd-emu, Deunan is trustworthy. He is located in Poland. I purchased a Saturn Rhea direct from him with no problems. Watch for ordering to open up. When it does order one. There is no payment at that time. You will get a confirming email putting you in the queue. Sometime later when it is made, you'll get a second email telling you how to pay. Make payment then and it is sent to you. I had to wait about 1 1/2 months from ordering confirmation to payment request. Once paid, I recieved it about 1 1/2 weeks later (shipped Poland to US) I would not hesitate to order from gdemu again. Watch closely as the ordering window closes very quickly after it opens.
  19. I was a Saturn launch day buyer. Console, joystick, Daytona USA and Clockwork Knight for $600. I was very happy until I told my wife how much it cost.
  20. Intellivision rgb kit available here: https://squareup.com/store/retrorgb/item/intellivision-rgb-kit Install instructions are here: http://retrorgb.com/intellivision.html You can try contacting modders if you don't want to do it youself. I have one installed and picture is perfect on hdtv threw frameister xrgb mini. (I installed myself so I don't have anyone to recommend)
  21. Years go I cannabilized two controllers to do this. Took a genesis extender cable, cut off one end and ran it into a jag controller. Inside the jag controller I soldered wires to the joypad and button contacts. Made sure wire pattern matched genesis controller pinout. I think I had to open the Genesis joystick and have the wires bypass the pcb. I remember there were not enough wires in the extender cable for three buttons. Added mono audio jacks to each controller to run another wire for C button. Pad and buttons on genesis joystick and keypad / start /option on jag controller all worked. Used it back in the day to play a lot of Defender 2000 and Tempest 2000. Probably easier now to just make a controller from scratch. Take pcb from jag controller, put it in a box and connect to your favorite arcade controller stick, buttons and phone keypad.
  22. Thanks Orion. This is a really rough demo. Couple of 3d buildings and floating / rotating blocks with pictures. Good for a skunk board. Probably not for eproms.
  23. Get an Atarimax Ultimate SD Multi Cart. http://www.atarimax.com/5200sd/documentation/
