No one gets anywhere in life by being wimpy, unassertive, unconfident, and blaming others for their problems. I'm not saying that's you, but that's what comes to mind when the phrase "nice guy" gets thrown around. Successful people aren't all horrible jerks, but they are confident, aggressive, and assertive.

I'd say keep being nice and Screw everyone who doesn't agree!

I think that when you come to the end of your life it doesn't really matter how much money you made or how much stuff you amassed, because that won't leave any impact on the world after you're gone. All that will really remain are people's memories of you, and how you treated them on your journey through life. Be kind and compassionate to others and you will surely leave the world a better place than you found it. =)
