Hehe...I am sure I will scare everyone here,

 

But this is the solder station I have used for some time, and I love this ancient thing! Fixed many a 2600, Intellys, CVs, and Controllers for all. But the CV repair wouldn't be possible without the Kester solder you see sitting next to this ancient Weller Station.

 

 

 

I am not sure exactly how hot this thing gets since it doesn't have a temp control. But it can melt that Kester quick enough and only needs about a 60sec warm up to get hot enough to melt. Nothing like using the tools of the same era of the stuff your fixing...

Take a planet patrol take case off unsoder the EPROM put a 24pin ZIF in and ya got urself a 4k EPROM cart.
