  2. There was a thrift store I'd go to in Huntsville that always had Apple II stuff. 8" disks and such. Really rare stuff. But there was never a price. The lady would make it up depending on how well you dressed or how she was feeling that day. But she'd always man handle the stuff trying to figure out what it was. Sometimes to the point of ruining mint stuff. But for 5 dollars for a complete II+ mint with a printer I guess I won't complain.
  3. Just saw this. That would be so cool to have on the nes. Gonna go have some Torgo's Pizza now.
  4. I'm running late for work and was wondering if there was anyone out there who made precut labels for the nes or snes? Or what does anyone use? I've gotten the ones for the 5200/2600 and I've recently ran out of glossy sticky paper. (I was able to pick up a couple packs on clearance at Kmart. And when I called the manufacturer they said it was discontinued. All of the sticky paper I've found is matte. Thanks for the suggestions.
  5. I must say I do love firing up my 1200xl with the beige joystick. I think it's one of the coolest looking systems ever. But nothing will ever compare to my 5200.
  6. I haven't seen them anywhere else. I just grabbed a set. The only one that seemed rare was the 2600 RV as there was only one left in the whole display.
  7. Yeah, I've seen the hard drive interfaces before. Right now I can't justify the cost with how much I actually use my GS. It hasn't been turned on in over 2 years now. I have a II+ IIe IIc and IIgs but never get around to using them as much as my 286 with MT-32 or my Atari's. But having an accelerator I might be prone to playing around with it a bit more. I could kick myself though, before I was into collecting old systems I had a chance to buy a IIe with Transwarp accelerator and passed on it. It even had scsi adapter in it. for the whopping price of 20 bucks.
  8. Werewolf of course... Bigfoot is a hoax.
  9. I thought debate and dissension were good for the public discourse. Sorry to here you weren't feeling good. Isn't there 2 versions of dig dug for the A8? I could have sworn I have different carts for that game. I'm going to go play some Nintendo now.
  10. Cool find. I wish I had more time for my IIgs. Not to mention an affordable accelerator. Or a way to hook it up to a hard drive.
  11. It's like Activision games. They were so advanced for the 2600 but on the 5200 they weren't that much better. That's why I was always disappointed by the 7800, even though I own 5 of them, for me the 2600 and 5200 have a soul where as the 7800 does not.
  12. But they're the actual all metal hot wheels, like you would have gotten back in 79, not the .97 plastic bottom wal-mart hot wheels
  13. Kmart had them. And yeah they were closer to 5.00 here. What are they going for on epay? Here's a pic of them.
  14. Thanks for clarifying my statement. That is precisely what I was referring to.
  15. Just got the entire collection of 2600 hot wheels. I must say they are pretty awesome
  16. For me it goes back to the original issue of the 7800 coming out in what 86? the 5200 81-82? With a game that was already old for that time. I mean come on, who wasn't blown away by .vs SMB or .vs Duck Hunt at the Little Caesar's Pizza especially SMB. Now I love my 5200 as much as the next guy but lets be real Nintendo is releasing games like that whilst Atari is slapping us in the face with Ms. Pac-Man and Dig Dug? What an insult. Tramiel didn't believe in it but saw it as a way to suck the last pennies from a few loyalists much the same way that John Scully did with Apple years later. Brand loyalty is an amazing thing especially mixed with childhood nostalgia or any nostalgia for that matter we all long for happier/simpler times. It can blind people to the reality that what they think is the best no matter what it is (toys, movies, music), is actually total garbage. With that Good day sirs...
  17. Going to make some Nes reproductions and eat some pumpkin pie. And for all you Notherners out there it's going to be a hot 71 degrees here today in Orlando.

  18. For me you nailed it. All my friends had the 2600 and it was cool. But when I got the 5200 man we were blown away. Even though it wasn't pixel perfect it was for us at home. To this day when I think of playing defender or centipede it's the 5200 version I crave. By time the 7800 came along everyone had to have the NES. The 7800 was for the poor kids, or better yet, how some kids parents bought them Go-Bots and the parents who loved their children got them Transformers. Yes they are robots that change into things but Transformers had Star Scream and Megatron and the Go Bots had Scooter.....To me the 7800 is Scooter....
  19. Going to make Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa reproduction. There is now 1 less copy of Laser Invasion in the world.

  20. You mean you went there for something other than a cell phone? I was talking to a clerk the other day and he said they were supposed to start expanding their electronics section. The problem with places like The Shack is having people working there who know what they are talking about.
  21. It's off to work I go. Join me in rising up against Turkeys. Support the festive Thanksgiving Cornish Hen.

  22. The N64 isn't that great an option either. The little nub on the bottom rubs off and renders them pretty much useless. I like to think of the 5200 controller as a Lamborghini or Jaguar. Great to look at and drive but always breaking down and not very practical.
  23. New Star Wars writer announced. Can't wait. With no Lucas at the helm it will be legendary.

  24. Kind of anti-climatic....But still gonna get a couple for Christmas....
