  1. I was lucky enough to amass a pretty large collection back in the days of the SNES. 1 store in Orlando had several lab loaners and tooth protectors for 99 cents each. I picked up a massive lot of stuff for 60.00 including the 4 lab loaners and tooth protectors which I later sold for 100 dollars. Got a bunch of 7800 stuff too. Those days long gone. Thanks internet and ebay.

If you believe in reincarnation, it does have one. I'd like a "Select" button or a "Difficulty" button, personally.

I'd like a black and white button so I could live in an era where I could say gee whiz!

  6. Where did you get the software from? I found 1 set of apple talk wires a while back only to find out I still need another set. Still don't have the software yet. Would love to put the IIgs to use.
  7. Sorry there sauerkraut. Nobody was asking you to post. Just making an observation. What a guy....
  8. Sorry for sounding like a jerk, but really people, can't anyone use a search anymore? I used to enjoy this site for it's educational attributes but lately just like in the real world the lazy have taken over and it's just the same old tired posts over and over again. Like how did Gremlins get released? What's the expansion port for? Why no fill in the blank here. Colecovision rules. Oh and let's not forget the controller wars my God those never get old. 14. So that means it's no longer available?
  15. You'll have to get the driver from queststudios to play Sierra games with the Mt-32 thru a soundblaster card. The soundblaster doesn't use a real uart for data transmission so when you load up Space Quest III (My personal favorite) it won't be able to load up the patch banks into the Mt-32. Hey, local. I forgot about that. What about compatible cards or stuff like a Gravis Ultrasound? Would those need a driver too? Not sure about the gravis, never had one, but I know with the soundblasters and all compatibles they had a dumb uart that was only capable of transmitting actual midi data to the MT-32. Without the smart uart you couldn't transmit patch banks to the MT-32. That's why I rushed out to Guitar Center back in 97 and purchased a dos midi-man. Because the Win midi-man used the same dumb uart that was controlled by windows to handle the data flow. Kind of like a winmodem today. I hunted my MT-32 down across all of central Florida and found it at a beach pawn shop out in Cocoa at 5:00p.m. they closed at 6:00 p.m. I've never driven that fast before or since.

  17. The machine I'd be using it on would be a Pentium 120, but it has the ability to be slowed down to a 286 I believe. Tempest As far as I know the errors mainly lie in the software. I know with the Sierra software there is a lot of code that is timing specific. LSL3 is a prime example, the game will run great on damn near everything up to a P2 but when you go to the gym to work out you will never work out enough because of a timing routine. I really don't have the space to keep them all running but I have at least 1 system of each type just for these issues. I love Sierra games. Check out queststudios.com they have a lot of MT-32 software and Sierra specific stuff as well. I have a Roland E-20 that I use to play Rock Band 3 with. It's basically a keyboard with the MT-32 as it's sound module. It will work with Sierra games as well.
  18. I have an MT-100 and a MT-32 but I use a 286 with an actual midi card not sound blaster or uart model. It works on a 486 but sometimes when you change screens the last note gets stuck. Doesn't happen on the 286.
  19. Mine were flaky as well. The resistance of the pots are off. I have two NIB PCJR joysticks that I plan on modding to use with my wico control pad.
  20. I can play GTA IV, Rock Band Games with no problems. Call of Duty, Fallout, and pretty much every other FPS gets me dizzy.
  21. When I was younger I had more time to really flesh out the game. Now with my time so sparse I have to rely on the walk-throughs to get me by.
  22. I think a lot of it had to do with Jobs. He is a control freak that's why the Mac had a closed architecture. The Mac was his baby much the same way the NeXT was his too. He had little to do with the Apple II. That was all Woz's baby. Woz is an amazing engineer and Jobs is an amazing PR/Ideas guy. They on purposely crippled the IIgs. Why even design the Mac? You have a backward compatible machine with excellent sound/video capabilities with a color GUI. It's 16bit just like the Mac. With open architecture. How could they not have won with that machine? By limiting it's processor speed to forgive me if I'm wrong, 4mhz? That's how. Not to mention all the crooked deals Jobs was giving the University circuit to purchase Macs/requiring students to purchase macs.
