I tried the same game roms on my most and least compatible 7800 and got the same as you: freezing during loading, black or blue screen, Green Alien giving me the finger repeatedly. Alien Brigade would occasionally make it to the camp screen for a split second on the better 7800 and then return to repeated partial movements of the alien hand. On the worst 7800, the hand would repeatedly make it only an inch or two across the screen before repeated, never making it to the camp. Edit: With my old Concerto cart, Alien Brigade will run perfect.

I just tried the Arkanoid from Trebor's latest 7800 ROM pack and and seems to work on both of my 7800s, even though the 2019 one did not work on the "less compatible" one. The Milly and Molly Concerto mod works on both, although there is bleeding of the typeface text.

I went to their bid history and they are 7***j. Seems all the bidders have an alias. Is this something eBay does automatically or something? I'm not overly concerned about the game. Get the DB9 M/F and pull off pin 9 with pliers. It will work like a charm. Doubledown has a couple more handyman type suggestions about disconnecting the line to 9 in the controller cord at the Phoenix end or tying pins 7 and 9 together inside (don't do this if you have the speed roller buttons). It's older and more universally compatible with older software and firmware of small size - files smaller than 1GB. I think the 32kb sector size is a happy medium for rom files so you're not wasting memory, but not spreading it out over dozens of sectors. If the Quick Format of win10 doesn't work, which it usually will, I try the FAT32_GUI formatter. I found I also have the SD formatter just mentioned, so that's another option.

Are you formatting the sd card in FAT32 with 32 kB sector size?

Unfortunately, we did find there was a large amount of variation in compatibility with different board revisions with the Concertos old build. I think that’s been reduced a lot, but seems it could still be an issue. Have you tried it with and without POKEY installed?

Tracking these days has been reduced to: “Your package has been shipped” and three weeks later “Your package has been delivered”.

There are like six different roms. Some may ultimately be duplicates, but for me in CoolCV, some work perfect and others have scrambled graphics/text.
