- I had a package from China take 7 weeks sent via Orange Connex. Ignoring customs issues (normal), the package sat for 4-6 days in every US city and facility it passed through. This massively dragged out deliver.
- FedEx has struggled to understand the simplest of instructions. FedEx has always had the most problems with delivering packages so I avoid them if I can. There is a note on our apartment door that says "Intercom broken, call XXX-XXX-XXXX to deliver packages". They ignore it and leave their 'we "tried" to deliver' note directly underneath the note on the door. If only they raised their eyes up a mere 5 degrees...
- UPS has been oddly reliable lately. They have been problematic in the past.
- Amazon has been mostly good but recently a package that was annoying delayed a week finally arrived at the local airport... only to be sent back to the seller due to damage. It was only a few miles away... so close...
- USPS has been mostly reliable, though slower due to recent politically motivated sabotage of them. I can see other folks haven't been far less lucky.
Tracking these days has been reduced to: “Your package has been shipped” and three weeks later “Your package has been delivered”.

42 minutes ago, NIAD said:I seem to recall having to update the firmware of the AtariMax Ultimate SD MultiCart in order for LoD to run and save game data correctly. This would have been shortly after the AtariMax was released circa 2010/2011.
You also have to use the correct rom dump with the AtariMax which I think is the 24K version. Sorry, it’s been a while and I’m not in front of my system to verify.
I’m not sure if CoolCV supports LoD and it’s save game format, but BlueMSX does by changing the cartridge configuration.
There are like six different roms. Some may ultimately be duplicates, but for me in CoolCV, some work perfect and others have scrambled graphics/text.

In addition to what dr venkman said, magnifying cheater glasses are helpful to make sure all the legs are lined up with socket holes when inserting back into the socket; Especially if your eyesight isn’t what it used to be when you got your last prescription.

6 hours ago, Ikrananka said:No, it has a separate save game memory chip. In the original cart design this was achieved using battery backed RAM. Later designs did away with the battery and use NVRAM instead.
I tried about six different versions I had on the Atarimax Ultimate on the Phoenix. Some would actually have the graphics good and seem to play, except none of the new characters you create would show up to be in your party when you go back to the Tavern there are no characters and when you leave the Tavern and choose a town option greater than 1 (go back to the Tavern), it just says "group is empty". So, you are stuck there.
I didn't think much ahead, so the long similar names run off the screen. Maybe I'll shorten them to see what's what over the next few days.

Yeah, that’s not gonna happen. Sorry. Happens in all eight bit scenes. 5 to 10 copies for programmer/dumper and friends of the highly volatile trademark related homebrews. Better to just buy what you like, IMOSHO

25 minutes ago, Ikrananka said:Ah, now I understand. Unfortunately, LotD does not work on a Phoenix via the SD card or with an AtariMax Ultimate SD. Currently, the ONLY way to play LotD on a Phoenix is with a dedicated LotD cart with onboard save game RAM.
I raised this as an issue with the CV core nearly a year ago: https://github.com/CollectorVision/Phoenix-Colecovision/issues/23
That’s weird. A bizarre bank switching method on the LotD cart?

53 minutes ago, cjherr said:Hi all,
I just purchased a new copy of Lord of the Dungeon from CollectorVision, but I would like to put a copy on my Atarimax cart for daily use and tuck the original away. However, the copy doesn't seem to work. I see the Maxflash studio software shows a 24K ROM copy and a 2K RAM copy. I have created both, and placed them in the same directory, but no joy. Is there a naming convention I have to use, or is there something else special that needs to be done?
This is more for convenience than anything, so I'm not going to worry if there's some reason it simply won't work, but if there is something I am missing, I'd appreciate any help given.
Thanks!

Does this one work (post 17):

Was there ever an NTSC version of this available? I know they were being sold on USA sites, but were they the same as the PAL ones?

Hello, can I interest anyone in doing just a ROM for a quality custom hack of an original CV game limited to controller type change that I have always wanted for a few hundred $, negotiable. PM me.
Edit: Found someone

I have a SNES NTT and Jaguar controller for emulation and I have an Edladdin SAC+ for the original and for the Phoenix. I have ball top standard controllers in the Roller Controller and EM2.

Registered mail with be an option, so it isn't left on the doorstep?

7 minutes ago, NIAD said:I was just wondering if there is a schedule or list of upcoming releases for the ColecoVision and Phoenix, for instance, Math Quest comes to mind. I checked on the website and did not find anything and think it would be nice to make such information available akin to how Team Pixelboy lists games in development on his website.
Actually, using Team Pixelboy's website as an example, it is actually surprising that the CollectorVision website does not have a section detailing all the games, hardware, etc. that they have developed and released for the ColecoVision & ADAM since the beginning in 2008. Perhaps that ship has sailed due to the sheer volume and tremendous amount of time and work that it would take to put something like that together, but what a great way to promote the CollectorVision label than to showoff everything that has been accomplished.
It wouldn't be the same Collectorvision if they were organized.

$4.90 standard shipping. You'd think they could spring for registered mail.

Far as easy to sell, nobody wanted my 2019 & 2020 games without knowing what the secret games were ahead of time.
Someone also put the 2019 ColecoVision game on eBay.

Nothing nefarious, just odd that you were working on the game as an individual, always using "I", struggling with it and making progress on and off, asking advice and posting ROMs for several months. Then it disappeared for like 18 months from Atariage, then ...BOOM...back with a kickstarter of a finished game and always using the term "we" in the business sense. Mao Mao Games? Just unusual with lots of missing pieces of the story. Not really my business, though. Glad you got it finished. Hope you will include lots of artwork. How big did it end up being? 16k or 32?
Also, why am I paying $17 for shipping to the US and what kind of shipping is it? The Kickstarter doesn't say. It looks like it is $55 shipping to everywhere else in the world. Is this Expedited USPS w tracking and insurance?

Something odd about all of this. I'm sure (90%) it's legit, but still odd.

I'm good with it all. I think it's still a really good deal. $10 a rom is a fair deal and we got over 50 the first year. 12 is still worth $120 to me, plus the 2-3 games. Over 150 think it's good enough to join. Some people just always see the glass half empty.

If none of the 2600 roms work, I would start with Combat and Video Olympics.

Aliens. There is the c64/zx version and square’s msx version, but never made it to the 8-bit consoles, unless you count the pac-man style one for the 2600.

Unfortunately, we did find there was a large amount of variation in compatibility with different board revisions with the Concertos old build. I think that’s been reduced a lot, but seems it could still be an issue.
Have you tried it with and without POKEY installed?
