  1. I'm not sure how Stella would implement it with only one fire button option in the Input Setting, even with controller set to Genesis. I'm not sure how an Atari 2600 or Stella would detect the new pin signal from the second button. It must be using the paddle or driving button.
  2. I'm inclined to think used game vendors did okay because they didn't have much competition from homebrewers selling new games. If you are going there planning to buy some $50-$70 new homebrews and there aren't any, 2 for $10 games start looking pretty good. Were there any homebrewers for other systems there? Nintendo? Sega?
  3. Depends somewhat on if it was anonymous or not. No businessman is likely to s**t where he eats, It's like your boss asking you if you are thinking about quitting...
  4. Can the two button controllers be recognized by Stella 5.0?
  5. Japanese exclusive light gun plug and plays by Takara. Gun Gun Adventure and Gun Gun Revolution. Shipped from "にほん".
  6. Mine were all delivered a couple weeks ago, BUT, I ordered them literally like 10 seconds after the release, expecting massive orders to be placed soon after. The AA store is pretty darn fast by homebrew norms, meaning sellers who (for practical reasons related to relatively small, somewhat unpredictable, sales numbers) must scale production of units to orders already placed before manufacturing them. In some sellers' cases, the money for orders must be obtained in order to fund the production of the physical objects to be sold. In the case of custom, experimental controllers and consoles, this can be months or years after placing an order.
  7. This is all cool! Can't wait to see the next developments!
  8. Asian top with USA bottom, if I'm not mistaken. A repair of an Asian 4-switch model. Not clear on where the guts come from.
  9. So the repaired four switchers with the 6/4 bottom are collectors items b/c the bottom was made in Sunnyvale?
  10. I'm contemplating getting a nice early model 2600 box for display, but I probably have to get a console with it, and it would probably be smart to do that as the matched set would retain its value better...although ... It is unlikely I would ever sell it. I already have a 6switch 4switch and Sears model I and II, so don't really want another random 2600 console until I sell one of these I have. Not sure it is worth the trouble and paying way over $100 for the set to have a nice box that just sits there, though.
  11. This is good advice. Just realized there is no "Edit" option. Think I will begin following this advice now. Just spotted a couple typos and would have liked to mention the fine artwork included in the box for Scramble, although the other review hit on it, so, good enough.
  12. This puzzles me. $193 for a 4-switch 2600 untested with box. Is a nice box worth $140? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Atari-Video-Computer-System-Model-CX-2600A-W-Original-Box-Untested-Vintage/142468599421?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
  13. That's what I was thinking. "Homemade-type" keyboard with more traditional keys as an upgrade for the generally unpopular flat push-button screen keys of the 400.
  14. I would say it is because there is no incentive to do it right after playing the game the first time and some negative association from amazon and ebay. Someone may think they should play it more before writing a review. They may think there is no hurry and put it off and then forget about it completely. They may feel hesitant to have their opinion weighed in on the success or failuire of a game. You get spammed to review stuff on amazon and ebay and if you review something poorly you get spammed or rebuked by the seller and told they will lose their business if you don't give them perfect scores, so there is a bit of negative association there. Maybe members should get a review number next to their name to highlight their contribution.
  15. Option 2 seems like it would be very astute of him. He could work with someone like Al and make most or all his money back if he could sell a couple hundred carts.
  16. If he was concerned about value I don't think he would have paid such an outrageous price in the first place.
  17. Around 10:30 in this video he says he originally posted it for several hours as a buy it now for 100 pounds.
  18. This is more crazy complicated as it is not so much trademark for trademark sake as trademark for proof of ownership of the physical object. I don't think the prototype is legally different than any mass distributed cart, except for its value. It was marked with a copyright, wasn't it? Activision (Atari?) would also have to prove this was wrongfully removed from their property and not legally given away or sold. So, I think this is one of those cases where possesion is 9/10ths blah, blah, blah. Although, if you are referring to a programmer finishing the game so it is like the newest PAL version, then we are in the the same territory as all the homebrew Pac Man and Donkey Kong hacks and remakes.
  19. Theoretically true, but it would likely cost more than it was worth in the U.S., let alone extradition from Poland.
  20. Would be cool to have the ROM if Mr Poland Buyer is out there reading. I wouldn't hesitate to do it.
  21. A couple times it is because I plan on waiting until the last few minutes to start bidding and then lose track of time and realize it ended ten minutes ago and some item went for half its worth. Now I try to place a reasonable bid early on even if I think it might make others more vigilant.
  22. I have confirmed shipping is a bitch through Buyee. Tried to have the $32 light gun shipped by registered airmail for $30 and they told me it was too big, so having to ship it by EMS for $43, which is a lot for a $32 item.
