  1. Well, I'm still not sure if I'm going to buy an Amico or not at some point, but I have decided after today never to give another dollar to Nintendo, so, maybe I'll get a Switch second hand one day if they ever make a sturdier one and I can pirate all the games I want.
  2. That’s right. I will. Let today go down as the day someone tried to convince me that hypocrisy is a good thing. (I wonder if this will confuse roots.genoa and Juice again via the reaction emojis ... we'll see.)
  3. I'm not sure you understand what I meant by hypocrisy from your response. In fact, I saw you making fun of the VCS in comparison to the Amico not long ago in this thread, so, I guess it's okay to make fun of the VCS, but never criticize the Switch. I'm not angry in the least, maybe you're projecting. I think you're way over-reacting to a couple comments I think were constructive criticism. I'll respond to a criticism with counter-criticism if I want when I want. I'm not going to let some guy like you with delusions of being an authority figure on this forum tell me what to do. I'm wondering if you have some kind of mommy/wife ersatz relationship with Nintendo with the kind of defensiveness I'm seeing.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😁✌️
  4. No, I did not start the Switch talk here. I even said it was in response to a comment comparing the Amico to the Switch, if you were paying attention. Again, when it's the Switch, criticizing is hate. Even from Mr. Beefy's previous lengthy comment, he seems to believe that we can criticize the Amico, but not the Switch. You just said we should stop comparing the Amico to the Switch, yet you just did it in this very comment. What kind of hypocrisy is that?
  5. Well then I'd like to see detractors/doubters quit making comparisons of the Amico to the Switch, since they started doing it first.
  6. Yes, where would I ever get that idea (BTW, Steam, Mobile and possibly Playstore are just as bad). Also, I wasn't intending to put a focus on game prices. I could have just put $60 worth of games, I suppose. Also, I've only posted about this twice in the last two years to add some balance to all the negative comparisons I see Switch people making with the Amico. Again, I don't think that's unfair. https://www.videogameschronicle.com/news/switch-joy-con-drifting-lawsuit-will-go-to-arbitration/#:~:text=A class action lawsuit alleging,US District Judge Thomas S.&text=Originally filed in July 2019,to drift%2C causing unintended movement. Prices of most top games are around $47-$50 https://www.pricecharting.com/console/nintendo-switch
  7. I mentioned a couple of flaws I see with the Switch, which detractors/doubters insist on comparing to the Amico, and did in the instance I made the comparison. I don't see how that is bashing, to mention it has a couple flaws, IMO. People seem to think it downright necessary to point out their opinion of flaws in the Amico multiple times and insult people because they aren't negative enough about it. Yet, apparently, we can only mention the Switch if we only have good things to say about it or we're bashing it. I believe I made two comments, one each about a flaw and got some 18 what people like to call "white knight" comments with no further replies from me. I don't see that as unfair on my part. And here's your fairy emojis. 🙄😐 https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=fairy🧚 ♀️
  8. This is Dorkalicious under new name, by the way. Joined 3 1/2 months ago and came back after 3 months of silence just to participate in this thread's angsty drama.
  9. I think I asked if we could use 256k and 512k many pages back and rxscram said yes. Edit: that’s GB not k! 😂. 256 and 512 GB. Been using to many retro ROMs.
  10. Tiltable touch screen monitor. I’ve seen them sold by Dell. I imagine they just give you more screen space to work with. It’s one of those jobs where you never have enough screen space. As for that odd side attachment with the silver thermometer looking doohickey, I got nothing for you.
  11. From what I can tell, the perp is shunned, banned and bad mouthed in perpetuity. On eBay they are confronted and/or reported to eBay, which may or may not work. If not, they are bad-mouthed in perpetuity. Completionist collectors may may still seek it out to complete their collection if it is named, labeled or packaged differently.
  12. And where did you buy these five switch games for under $10? A very infamously bad eshop?
  13. Well, according to roots.genoa, you have to include the price of the phone. So, the simplest answer is, because it’s typically $550 cheaper and that $800 gaming device is only for 1 player. For the very few simultaneous multiplayer games on your phone it’s 800 x 2 - 250 = $1350 cheaper.
  14. You mean like why would people pay $800 to play cell phone style games when they can play them on Amico for $250?
  15. Amico two full screened/motion controllers and 6 games worth $60= $250. Switch with one passable screened/motion controller or two of the worst unscreened controllers (that often don't work for two player) and one game worth $60 = well, currently $460+. Maybe $360+ if you're lucky by April. Amico for 4 player sumultaneous full screened/motion controllers and 6 games worth $60 = $250 Switch for four player simultaneous unscreened/non-motion four of the worst controllers with one game worth $60 = currently $560+, maybe $430 in April.
  16. However, it is targeted far more towards retrogamers than modern gamers, so it would not seem like a good fit for the modern gaming forum.
  17. I tried the ferrite bead clamps on the roller controller cable tonight for the Phoenix. I put one (5mm) next to each port connector, one each a little farther up near the joint, one larger one (11mm) next to the joint and where it leaves the roller controller...and...no difference. Still get a hyperspace like jump in Slither and Armageddon every 1 to 2 1/2 min. Also, spinning the trackball very fast will frequently do it as well. I get the feeling it may be mistaking noise spikes for signal and a low pas filter or Schmitt trigger may fix it, but I don't know how to make one specifically for this. I'll try the Edladdin SAC+ this weekend with the ferrite beads on early Opcode games just to be thorough.
  18. I'm cool with cmart, no matter what everyone else is saying about him.
  19. BlueMSX has a save state in it's emulator, I would save anywhere you can pause.
  20. You can speculate on the world market based on your and some gamers' opinions, while the Intellivision videos consistently show about a 9:1 like to dislike ratio*, but time will tell. * Except for the more hardcore gamer focused EWJ4, which is like 2:1.
  21. Fair enough, but there's your investigation into the high cost. You’re welcome!
  22. Too give a little perspective on this, it was really a $130 system that got hiked $20 due to COVID, then there is an extra $50 controller (and $50 worth of games ($10 x 6 minus 18% profit margin) included. $130 -$150 would put the hardware in a higher quality made Ouya + online storage + interactive lighting + controller with touch/view screen + a more real company price bracket. Why not sell the $150 system with one controller and no games? It is important to Intellivision Entertainment philosophy as a family system to have it be a barrel of co-op fun out of the box and have two full controllers for co-op. It seems very important to them that there be a month or so worth of co-op gaming built in. This was also important to the people in their market research. However, basically you have your minimally operating system as it is supposed to operate for $150 + $100 required extras. If you pre-order from Fig, I think you have the $15 gift card, as well, so that's $135 + $115 in required extras. I mean, you could probably sell one controller and the gift card on eBay for $70 - $75. Point is, the base system would not be a bad deal as far as I can see.
  23. P in the I clowns. A couple shows back he read a single comment on youtube by some other clown filled with completely made up crap and Pat says "that's not totally unreasonable." Some fine investigative reporting there, LOL! Every Youtuber who supports the system, and there are many, are immediately called a shill. He actually messaged people Tommy was going to interview and told them if they supported the system, they were a shill. His minions still do that to youtubers covering the Amico to this day. They are also extremely hardcore gamers, so, as Tommy has said, it's like Heavy Metal musicians reviewing Country music and most of what they say is opinion or speculation because they live in their own echo chamber. Plus, he's egotistical enough to think things in the Special Event video were done particularly for him. Dude, your not in his top three target markets. "You're so vain, I bet you think this video is about you..."
  24. Sinden light gun - you need either PC games, emulators or PS1/PS2. It has a camera for constant calibration. Taking pre-orders but not yet shipping. Fall 2020 shipping for first batch.
