I have ask the seller, and he tell me, that he buy it in USA. So it must be NTSC. But maybe I can say more, when it arrived. And I have never see a Bumper Bash in germany. So it must be very Rare here (9 too or 10)
.Or someone in USA has buy a PAL copy, and later sold it again to germany. But I think its easier to find a Bumper Bash in USA then in germany.
I'm not sure if you're serious in your claims, or just kidding, so I'll probably just leave it after this post.
What you say implies that you put a PAL Bumper Bash in Germany on the same level as the likes of Cubicolor, Miss Piggy's Wedding or even Eli's Ladder. I know it's hard to do international comparisons, but that does sound a bit odd, don't you think?
Anyhow, if it turns out you got an NTSC Bumper Bash, good for you! You got it at a bargain price, so be sure to treasure it. The labels on this game (and Mangia') tend to disappear quite easily (if you whipe it hard, the ink just comes right off).

I guess we just don't know what will happen. I don't think the ancient Egyptians thought they would be remembered by most of us by some insignificant ruler - Tutanchamon - in stead of one of their big pharaohs, Ramses II.
For the time being, most people will probably see both as classic systems. To me however, the Atari 2600 will always be from a different league, call it 'more classic' if you will, simply because it was the first system to make it all happen.

haha, you have all been defeated by a newbie on the board [snip] Marco, you said the box MUST have the quelle logo on the box and manual as well as the order-number....Oh yeah?! What about this then:
[*]have cases with S.S. molded into the backHah, you cheated!

Can be, that it there are a PAL version in Australia. But there are no Bumper Bash in germany. So its hard to get for me too, to get it in PAL or NTSC. And when the seller has so many NTSC games, why should Bumper Bash a PAL version. If he live in germany is the same for him to buy it in Austalia or USA. And when he has buy his other games in USA, why would he buy this one not there.Bumper Bash is not release in germany. I am 100% sure. I have never see it on ebay.de. And I watch it since years.I'm pretty sure that Bumper Bash was released in Germany. I've bought two lots of games from German sellers that contained Bumper Bash in the past couple of years. So it's defenitely out there, together with Mangia'.
Australian carts are PAL too, btw. The only place where you're likely to find an NTSC Bumper Bash is Canada, it's hardly ever found in the US.

The new house will be in Hengelo, only 150 km or so from Oldenburg! So you're more than welcome to come visit me some time

Cheers,
Marco
PS: you're only 260 km away from my current town also, but most of my collection now resides in boxes in my basement, not very interesting to watch...

I have never see a PAL Bumper Bash. So if this is PAL, it must be Rarer then the NTSC version. But I think this is NTSC.I don't think I can follow your reasoning. Trust me, as with all Spectravision/-video games, the PAL version is much easier to find. Also, I'm pretty sure that the seller had a PAL Bumper Bash in his collection.
You say it only, because I overbid you on Off Your Rocker. Sorry for that. But you were overbid by someone esle when I have not do it too.Heh, I couldn't care less. Just think of this: why would a game of '9' rarity only fetch $70? Maybe it's because it was a German auction, maybe it's because eBay is just slow this season, but I bet it's because they aren't really '9' rarities.

Hi all,
I listed a big lot of a cool Atari 2600 pirate. It looks Taiwanese, but the lot came from Brazil and should therefore be playable on an NTSC tv. You can bid on the lot, but also on individual games.
Check out this link if you're interested.

A bit off topic, but...
Glib (Selchow & Richter/QDI 9) (67,- Euro),Bumper Bash (Spectravision 9) (71,- Euro).
I think Glib should be a 7 at the most, as there's one copy of this game on ebay almost every week. PAL Bumper Bash should also be no more than a 7, and even the NTSC version is not as rare as we initially thought, with more and more Canadian finds of this game.

That is either a Suntek or Rainbowvision game. If it is in NTSC format, that is an extraordinary find, as these games were supposedly only released in PAL format!

Though I hear what you are sayin, I still really think the NES will be seen as classic, as without it, we wouldn't have a video game industry. No one else was really willing to release games outside of Japan but them, with the NES, so they really jumpstarted the industry. They saved it, and for that the NES will be known as classic. Even today more people know of the "regular nintendo" then much else, barring the "old atari".That is an excellent point for which you could call NES a classic system today. But I think that in time each and every system from the console era (1975-2025) will be just swept together and remembered as a whole. By that time, I think the one that started it will be remembered over the one that revived it. By that time too, NES will have lost its classic status.
I'd like to raise one other point that I have noticed in this regard. Most Americans felt a strong videogame crash around '83. That was hardly the case in the rest of the world, where systems died much more gradually. It was nothing like "The 2600 killed it, and now NES comes to the rescue". It was much more blended and slowly changing. So, calling the NES a classic in 100 years may be a typical American (and Japanese) thing...

Im wondering how long it will take you to fill your house up with atari stuff..
Heh, well, it's an old house which needs lots of work, but I hope that in a couple of months I will finally have my own dedicated videogame room - with room for my Atari collection and some arcade cabinets

I asked Alex and Albert to remove my moderator status. Moderating wasn't a real big task or anything, but I did take it seriously. Then, I found myself thinking about things happening on this board even when I wasn't browsing. As I posted in one of the threads, I didn't like the tone of some recent threads. I somehow started to feel too involved and felt it would be good to take it slow for some time (also because I just bought a house which needs my time and attention) and just enjoy the hobby again the way I used to.

Dieter,
I have some ads from Quelle, but they only show official release games - very strange! Can you show us some URLs, Dieter, so we can check out the goods?

I always say I collect manufacturer variations, not label variations. I think most (American) collectors would agree that Sears and Froggo games should be counted as unique carts. In my book, that means that also games by 'distributors' like Quelle and Marpes, that are like European versions of Sears, should be counted as unique. Same with Brazilian 'producers' like Fotomania, Atarimania etc. There's simply no way of distinguishing, so I just count them all. As long as it has a different manufacturer or distributor (or is missing any indication of its maker) it should be counted as another cool piece of Atari 2600 history.
That's as far as I go, I never understood the wish to go even one step further and also collect label variations. But that's just me

Anybody got any more Quelle games that are not yet listed here?

I am looking for a list that contains games that:
[*]were sold by Quelle AND
[*]have cases with S.S. molded into the back AND
[*]have "Quelle" listed on box and manual AND
[*]have a serial number, like Best.-Nr "719.383 2".
So, no single or double Taiwanese pirate or other crap, like the Bit games. Heck, if we were gonna list everything Quelle sold, we should also include regular releases by Atari, Imagic et al.
So, what I would like to see is a complete and corroborated list of what I would like to call the Real Quelle Deal

Cheers,
Marco

It takes age to become classic, but age alone won't do. Also, time will change what is looked upon as classic - and not in the way most people here are claiming. Certainly *not* every system that has been around will be considered to be a classic just because it's from the old days. Rather, it will slowly but gradually be forgotten.
When everyone that lived through it will have died, the whole home console era will be constructed around one system. The one system that made it all happen: The Atari 2600.
So, while today we can think of reaons why NES could be considered a classic, in time it will slowly fade to the background, like the Emerson Arcadia is already fading from our memories at the moment.
But that one system, that really started it all (and no, it's not Pong or Odyssey 1) will never fade from memory, thus being the only that preserves its status of a classic. The NES will never be able to claim that position, simply because it wasn't the first.
Cheers,
Marco

Quelle?
in International
Posted
NO
We're going off topic again! We weren't discussing every game ever sold by Quelle, we were trying to get a complete list together of this one specific game type. And the one shown above clearly does not belong in that category, anyone can see that!
So, back to the main question: do we have a complete listing here or are we still missing some titles? And let's stick to the AtariAge rules: no vague rumors ("I'm pretty sure I've seen". "I'm on eBay 24/7 and I've never come across" or "I once had this and that but now it's gone"), only hard evidence counts! C'mon, we must be able to get that list!
Cheers,
Marco
