  1. Take care man, and don't worry about our deal! All the best, Marco
  2. Selling off NES, now that sounds like a good plan to me Cheers, Marco <- hates NES
  3. I used to collect for most classic systems, untill the day I decided "there can be only one". So now, my sole focus is on the King of Consoles, the Atari 2600. I must say, I never regretted trading and selling my Videopac, Colecovision, Intellivision, and even my Vectrex collections. Concentrating on one system opens up lots of cool opportunities in terms of money, time and space put into collecting. However, with the number of games in my 2600 collection going up, it becomes increasingly difficult to add new games. That's why I made one exception to my "there can be only one" rule and picked a freaky system to collect on the side: the Sega Game Gear. Whenever the 2600 supply is really dry, I can turn to the Game Gear and pick up some nice goodies for that. Cheers, Marco

With games like these (heck, with many games) prices about double when they're boxed. There's enough of us crazy box collectors to make it happen Cheers, Marco
  5. quote: Originally posted by Eckhard Stolberg: The ROM works nicely on z26 1.50. Just as you described it for your console, including the screen flashes and sounds. Maybe you are just using the wrong emulator Heheheheh, you evil man Cheers, Marco
  6. In case anyone was wondering what this proto looks like, here are some pics: Cheers, Marco

  8. Mind you, the elite is bidding now Cheers, Marco BTW: it's wise *not* to jump in on this one; just sit back and wait for the other ones to pop up in the following weeks [ 10-12-2001: Message edited by: Marco ]
  9. I works fine on my console. I had to figure out how to get it working properly though. It requires the right (not the left) joystick and difficulty switches both in position B. Set up in this way, you can play a game of chess. When the VCS is thinking, the screen flashes and there is some psychedelic sound. However, on the emulators I cannot get it set up properly, and the VCS starts with some highly illegal moves Cheers, Marco
  10. DA HORROR!!! sad (Mr.Box) Marco
  11. Hi all, Did anyone try the Computer Chess ROM? I'm having troubles running the game on an emulator myself... I just saw the picture of the label - damn, that's cool! I wish I had a cart like that, my proto is just the board. My Polo proto has the same top label, but is missing the end label. I wonder if it had one like Computer Chess... Cheers, Marco
  12. Hi Russ, Are you saying Sean has an actual prototype? Cheers, Marco
  13. Yeah, Sean told me he had made carts out of of ROMs I sent him. He just figured he couldn't tell everyone about it at the meeting without having a cart ready to actually play the game Cheers, Marco
  14. IMO River Patrol is a $300-$400 game, so this has gone up too high, if you ask me. All it takes are two bidders that really, really want something though Cheers, Marco
  15. Just send them all over to me and I'll send back the ones that I cannot use Cheers, Marco

  18. quote: Originally posted by King_Asmo: Why do Germans do this? If you like on eBay, the auctions where they're willing to ship Internationally go for 2-3 times what the "Germany Only" ones do. Is the extra inconvience really not worth getting double or triple the money? It boggles the mind. For some Germans there is a language barrier, and payment may be an issue as well. But it's a general thing I guess. Just look at the large number of "will ship to USA only" auctions on Ebay.com. And I've noticed the number has been going up since Sept 11... I don't get it either btw, there's some great opportunities for sellers and buyers around the world, but some sellers just don't want to seize'em Cheers, Marco
  19. I paid $1000 for my 2600 Tempest. Insane? Perhaps... I sold my Videopac collection to purchase the game, but never regretted it a single moment (selling the crappiest of systems to get the coolest of protos) Cheers, Marco
  20. Ben, I got this from the Art Gallery on the Digital Press site, which says it's a Gauntlet box. Dunno where they got the picture. Nor do I know if they made a mistake in assuming it's the box. Cheers, Marco
  21. quote: Originally posted by Tempest: Hmm... I always thought that was the cart label, but I guess I was wrong. Who's box is that? Dunno.. unfortunately, it's not mine ;( Cheers, Marco
  22. Never played the 5200. I never really got into 5200 collecting as it was never released in Holland. My all-time favorite Pengo port is the one on the Sega Game Gear. Portable Pengo, just gotta love it (never could get my hands on the Japanese MD version of it, would have loved to play that on my Nomad) ... and yeah, I know, I'm one of the only handful of people that actually likes the GG Cheers, Marco
  23. These pirate carts are distributed in Australia by Hi-Score under the Action Hi Tech label. They come in generic bright blue boxes. Carts with the same type of label have also surfaced in Europe as brandless Taiwanese pirates. Cheers, Marco

    Thanks, Scott Cheers, Marco
