  1. Hi Tony, I've never seen a box or manual or brochure with RJPG, so I assume they are either the initials of a programmer or the name of a company that programmed (or hacked) games for other companies, like Homevision. The game you put on eBay is from Italy. "Marpes" is the Italian equivalent of the German Quelle or the American Sears, a big warehouse selling their own brands of goods. Cheers, Marco
  2. That is why many collectors fill in "Germany" as their country, as it is not possible to do a search for German sellers on eBay. Cheers, Marco
  3. Don't listen to him! Of course, he is absolutely right about opinions. In general, that is. But when it comes to the King of Consoles...The Almighty Atari 2600... YES not to love it! Cheers, Marco
  4. Ah, that makes sense! This could very well be just another Homevision game. There should be some 40 titles out there, that we hardly know. Well, we probably know most of them in pirated form, but not the Homevision versions - I think. Cheers, Marco (waiting for Thomas to slap me around with some tech info that falsifies my claim)

    Addictive games

off topic: I just moved my Klax arcade machine from the basement into my living room (yahoo!) and I've been playing it for days now Cheers, Marco
  6. Two more lab loaners huh? Mine makes (at least) three then... I also have the 'official' cart, still looking for that cool white boxx though Cheers, Marco PS: oh, IMO, it's most definitely a 10
  7. I have one indeed, with the manual and the plastic box. I still need the outer box though. The one on eBay was sold by a German seller indeed. It didn't have the box though IIRC (Rick bought that one). Cheers, Marco
  8. I have sold about a dozen of these over the years, so there should be a couple more owners out there Cheers, Marco
  9. How'd you get your hands on that? I got them from a former magazine reviewer. I also got Immies & Aggies, Firespinner, and a Mysterious Thief from him Cheers, Marco
  10. Colorful labels, with simple images, no screenshots, and a big game name. I'd post a scan of one, if I could reach mine, but they're all burried in boxes in my basement at the moment... Cheers, Marco
  11. Avoiding fights is very easy. And if it's inevitable, why not run like a sissy? Or perhaps call for help? What's with the urge to hurt? Will you become a better person from it? Ehm.. call the police, stay in your room, avoid them like the plaque, let them take your VCR or whatever they came looking for? Ah well, never mind, I guess I'm too European to understand this shit. Marco
  12. You shouldn't confuse rare and wanted/valuable. Because these titles never saw a release in the US, they're more appealing to US collectors (espcially since the Brazil tv system is so close to NTSC), but they're really not that hard to find. Cheers, Marco
  13. It's a little bit harder to find, but it's also not extremely rare. I've been buying Brazilian Atari 2600 games for more than five years now and I've found that there are really very few carts from Brazil that are actually rare. In my experience, these are the harder to find: Canal-3 supercharger tapes (dozens of titles available!) Comp-K7 supercharger tapes (dozens of titles available!) Splicevision carts (look like CommaVid carts, with long cases!) Video Grow carts (look like O^2 carts, with the big grip!) And some smaller companies like LBZ, PROM, Video Tiger, Soft Vision, Mega, JO Game, Cromax, Connector. All of the better known brands, like Dynacom, CCE, Polyvox, Dactar, Digivision, Cosmovision, Fotomania, Atari Mania, etc etc are (un)common. Of course, there may be a title or two of these manufacturers which are a bit more difficult to find, but nothing really special. Cheers, Marco
  14. YOU GO GUYS! BID BID BID Cheers, Marco PS: don't forget those other goodies, they may be more common but boxed Xonox games are still quite hard to find, no matter what title!
  15. Nope, they're not rare. A few titles may be a little harder to find, but still nothing impossible. It's one of the common brands in Brazil. Cheers, Marco
  16. I have the CCE version, and the Zimag/Emag NTSC prototype Cheers, Marco PS: the CCE version is probably not as rare as we first believed it was
  17. Weird thing: there appears to be a ROM out there (though only a couple of people seem to have it) but I'm positive that a cart has not been found. Same goes for Aquaventure, of which there is also a CCE ROM out there. My feeling is that they could be hoaxes... Cheers, Marco
  18. Hi all, I've put some more boxed Atari 2600 games up for auction on eBay, including some cool Xonox games. If you're interested, please check out: Marco's Auctions Cheers, Marco
  19. Ehrm, the box for Eli's Ladder does NOT exist... Cheers, Marco
  20. Let's see if I can explain my position on this a little further. Homebrews - I think it's great to see new creations pop up all the time. Creating new stuff, showing what the 2600 is capable of, makes perfect sense to me. Just carts, with or without a manual, will do the job for every gamer. An occasional special release will also cater for the needs of the collectors amongst us. Prototypes - I really like those releases of previously undiscovered games. I do think it is possible to flood the market with these though. I don't know any sales figures, but I have a feeling the large quantity of new games at CGE 2002 may have resulted in a drop in sales. Not every proto game appears to be suitable. Playability is an issue, as is the quality of the box and manual. Low-quality productions of bad or hardly playable games might ruin it. Existing games - It's hard for me to see the sense in producing these. I include prototypes of which the ROM is already freely available in this category BTW. You can play these games through an emulator or the Cuttle Cart (or future devices like it, that allow you to load ROMs into your console). No need to make carts out of these, IMO. I must admit too that, not being able to own or play a certain game, certainly appeals to me. I talked to some friends about this at a little convention we had in Germany two weeks ago. I think what sums up my feelings about this, is that it is cool to add a new chapter to the past (new games), but that we should be wary in trying to recreate that past (new releases of old games). I know many of you will disagree, but I think the Atari 2600 Era has ended. We can certainly relive that era, but not revive it. Cheers, Marco
  21. The labels/boxes have multiple languages Cool! Gotta love them pirates Cheers, Marco
  22. There are a couple of games from Fox in PAL format (I have MASH, Megaforce and Crash Dive), and the Joyboard and Mogul Maniac are also available in PAL. Cheers, Marco
  23. Homebrews and prototypes are enough for my taste. There are so many new releases already. In fact, I sometimes wonder if we're not heading for a new crash... Cheers, Marco
  24. Hi guys, Here's an update of my mini-auction: $1080 (I.B.) Magicard (loose, blue label) $360 (Nick) Malagai (loose, nice condition) $120 (S.J.) Tooth Protectors (loose, label bit rough) High bidders are displayed by their initials. I will take offers for two more days, so, if you're interested in any of these, please drop me a line at [email protected] Cheers, Marco
