Probably because "cartride" is not in the dictionary. ...why is it that when I do find a large lot of classic stuff, the dealer won't break up the set and won't offer more reasonable price than $500? ...why is it that I can never find any rare cart, only common cart in the wild?

Activision Anthology 25th Anniversary Patch / Reward COIN
bedrock replied to Klove's topic in Atari 2600
Hey guys, I'm very new to this Atari Age Forum and have a question. Can someone tell me a little about the 25th Activision Anniversary patch(s)? Is this worth getting a whole new system for or should I stick with the Atari 2600? Thanks, Bedrock _______________________ I'm very impressed with this Atari following.....I had know idea! This whole thing makes me feel like a kid at Christmas again! By the way I just purchased "Thrust" Platinum edition as well as Asteroids DC+....Outstanding [/u] -
I think this one is quite rare too!!

I have recently been bit by the "retro" bug and am getting back into ATARI 2600 to relive my childhood. With that said, I have purchased several "common" favorites (asteroids, defender, etc.) and a Mint in Box Atari 2600 console. As a child, I remember Christmas 1980 and opening up my last gift (usually the "Big One") and that Atari 2600 box was forever burned in my memory! Right now I would have to say that would be my favourite item. But because I found the Atari Age website, I have found it very interesting that people are still programming for the 2600!! I recently purchased both Thrust Platinum Edition and Asteroids DC+ and am highly impressed. Asteroids DC+ (programmed by Thomas Jentzsch)is what Asteroids should have been in the first place.....I give this an A+ on graphics and overall improvement. Thrust Platinum Edition (also programmed by Thomas Jentzsch) is done brilliantly!!......It captures the essence of the 2600 with great gameplay and an element of the unknown. I am currently reaching level 5 out of 20 and am looking forward to more levels. This has got to be in the top 10 Atari 2600 games of all time....hands down. Hats off to programmers like Thomas who help keep the ATARI 2600 alive and well!!....Nice job

Space Invaders!!!.....Christmas 1980. After my dad hooked up the Atari 2600, I played this game for 3 days straight. At age 9, I had never had a "sore muscle" in my life. After the first day my hands and thumb felt like never before....but I continued to play and as I look back now...I discoverd 3 things about myself that would carry on into adulthood. 1) These games instilled a "never give up" attitude in me......I soon realized after years of Atari 2600 action that most of the games never had an end!!! I'm still trying to beat that damn game 2) Video games increased my need for competition and self-improvement. These games, believe it or not, have enhanced all aspects of my future....besides the fact that I still live at home with me parents (just kidding!) 3) Video games or TV?.....I watched very little TV as I usually took one look at the Atari sitting there next to the TV and said to myself..."Mmmm, I think I can beat my high score on Missle command!!!!....forget the Brady Bunch. Hand eye coordination over Mind Mush Television I always say!!!!!
