  1. ............and why not post these type of threads. They aren't harmful to anyone. INFORMATION IS THE KEY TO KNOWLEDGE. Why not stir things up in the forum. Kinda keeps peoples eyes open for what exciting news might come up. Please don't infringe on my right to freedom of speech. I wouldn't ask that of you.

Nobody is trying to infringe on your free speech. He's just telling you that there is a specific forum for want ads.

  2. Ninermaniac.......

I'm a bit curious here. You seem to be in an all out frenzy to get hard to find games whether or not you even know anything about them or have ever played, or even seen them.

And hey, that's your business, do what you want, but I'm just curious what gives here. I personally have found that even the rarest item becomes worthless if it has no meaning to you.

Like I said, your business, I'm just curious.

  3. You are joking about River Patrol right? That game is pretty cool

No, I was serious...... but maybe my memory fails me. I'll fire up Stella and give it another try (it's been a long time since I played it).

  4. Why Stella over Z26?

As a gamer (who's not debugging anything) I have to say my favorite emu is PCAEWin. I love the way it displays box and cart scans and the built in manual viewer is awesome. My only complaint is that I can't seem to get my paddles (w/ stelladaptor) working in it...but that might be my stupidity...So I use Stella for paddle games.

I've never tried pcaewin, but I will now. I like the idea of the multiple "viewers".

  5. Got my Mil! I think this is the first game I've ever rolled. Gonna switch to A2, even if it's not approved, I can't handle any more marathon games, and I made my personal goal.

    3 screen shots:

1- Just prior to 1 mil

    2- Just before dying

    3- At death

  6. I don't want to get on anyone's bad side, but sometimes some of the comments are funny........they're all made in jest.

They aren't meant to destroy anyone's spirit or the soul of the HSC.

Agreed.... I don't think anyone should be getting upset about the comments, none were meant personally. Some games aren't as fun as the others, it's just a fact, but we all still played. I think it's ok for someone to say "here's what I don't like about this game, but I'm in the contest anyway". If you weren't playing and just chiming in with cheap shots, that would be different.

I just don't see anything worth getting upset about here, on either side of the argument.

  7. Final tips: take a level and permanent marker and draw a line across your TV so you know where to stand every time.

If you don't get a strike on your first ball, start over. If you miss a spare, start over.

Repeat until you realise you're wasting your life.

  8. I think this is the problem. People just don't know about the alternative controller options available for emulation. I wouldn't imagine playing any PC emulated game with a keyboard, or a directional pad (unless that was an appropriate controller, of course). I play with genuine 8 way Atari and Atari type digital sticks, on my PC... or with genuine arcade controls on my MAME cabinet.

In all honesty, I have a $200 X-Arcade... and MAME with a Stelladaptor and a CX46 style stick is good enough for the VAST majority of games out there.

Agreed! Agreed! Stelladapter cx joy, a gravis gamepad pro, and a slik stik classic for mame..... it's all good.

One good thing about emulation is that the online version of Stella is improving and it will allow people to try Atari 2600 games who may never have thought about buying an Atari or downloading an emulator and the games. Homebrewers will also be able to put their own games on their web sites for people to play. Tell me that isn't cool.

    That is WAY cool.

How do you "butcher a controller" to use it on the PC? You plug it into an adapter, just like you'd plug it into a 2600. How are you harming it? Of course, worst case scenario, you could buy a USB joypad. Mine was 14 dollars.

Ditto..... you don't have to butcher anything.

  9. I LOVE paperboy.... although I have to admit this version of it is a little weak. It's not bad on Genesis, but in the arcade with the handlebar controller is the only real way to play. I've always wanted a control panel made like the original so I could play it in Mame.

HOW DO YOU GET AWAY FROM THE TORNADO???
