Please explain to me why they pulled this auction. I don't understand pulling protos.

Unfortunately it wasn't like the power glove or I would have bought it at about any price. It was cloth. I actually have one of the mail in order forms for it, just not the glove itself. I think this stuff is pretty cool, I've got found one of the "Defend Atlantis" entry cards in a box lot I bought. Maybe I should check the Atlantis cart to see if it's Atlantis 2

Activision used to have a mail order offer for a Bruce Jenner Decathlon Glove. Are these worth much? I don't have one, but I saw one and was wondering.

Excellent... I'll clean 'em up & sell them.

Cool Photoshop Stuff... Anybody know this plugin?
Blackjack replied to Blackjack's topic in Auction Central
No no, Mindfield, it's not that I don't have the resources to learn, it's that I don't have the Talent to evolve past the skill level of Neanderthal Cave Drawings. I've always hated that I couldn't do anything with visual art. That's why I like plugins that do this kind of stuff so much - It's harnessing the power of the talented for easy use by the artistically bereft like myself. I do appreciate your trying though. -
Or you could lay off the insults and grow the fuck up!

Cool, thanks for the ID!

Anybody know these: # one has suction cups on the bottom & a plug like a 2600. # two IS atari next to some 7800 controllers for size comparison.

I don't think the copying is so bad in this case. It's kinda hard to be very different when your describing the same cart anyway, especially if your not a collector or enthusiast.

hehe...... all that's exactly why I was hoping it was a plugin! I'm not artistic at ALL! I did this pic with a simple plugin, I was hoping for something as easy. -
The Mame sets are HUGE now. The CHD files alone take up like 4 dvd's. I think it's definately worth having someone burn for you.

It's not like any of us surf ebay all day "looking" for violations, that would be retarted. I also keep the reporting page bookmarked and when I happen to run across a bad violation, a simple click/copy&paste, and it's done. "If someones stealing but not from you why do you care?" I find it a bit tough to swallow that. If my neighbors saw someone robbing my apartment and did nothing I would be a bit.... miffed. Suppose your mother was about to be robbed of her life savings by an online scam, and I could have told her about it but hey..... they're not stealing from me, so why do I care. That just don't fly man.

Anybody know what plugin this guy used for his auctions. I love it. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8134923401&rd=1 I'm not going to use it for auctions, but I would like to play around with it.

I'm partial to the starfighter joystick... it's a lot like the slik stik.

I Scored with Space Invaders!! Good Atari Story Inside
Blackjack replied to Blackjack's topic in Atari 2600
Excuse me.... not moving shields..... zig zag bombs! My memory isn't as sharp as I like to think I guess -
I just thought I'd share a slightly funny story........... When I was 14 yrs old (I think) a local department store named Air Way (later renamed to Hills) had an Atari Space Invaders contest. I still remember they had about 6 machines set up in a back room. I went in with my Dad, signed my name and took my machine. You had to play with it set on game #3 (moving shields). The person who signed me in hit the reset button and off I went. I can't remember my score but it was pretty good. We had to wait 'til a certain time when the contest was over to go back and check, and when we did..... I came in 2nd!!!! With my victory came a $40 gift certificate with which I bought "Night Driver" and some slot car stuff, and they gave me Yellow Tshirt with Red Space Invaders on it that had the caption "I scored with Space Invaders". Boy was I proud of that shirt. I wore it to school the following monday and all my friends made fun of me So I put my shirt up and never wore it again. Over the years it disappeared. It probably got thrown away or put in a Goodwill bin or something. I wonder if anyone else has one of these shirts or has even seen one. It would be a cool item from my childhood to have again. It's funny, I've noticed the unusually cheesy smile on my face as I've been typing this out. The shirt is gone, so is the department store and my Father as well. All my childhood mementos burned up with my apartment earlier this year. but sitting down with my Atari brings it all back to me sometimes. Just thought I'd share

Direct and to the point..... gotta love that. I disagree..... and I'm not "over-sensitive", but I do appreciate directness.

eBay Police......... People reporting "illegal" auctions were just mentioned in another post (and called "ebay police") and since I find this topic interesting, I'd like to open a discussion for it. Do you think it's right or wrong to report listing violations? Or is it a matter of certain types of listing violations? How big a role do you think we should play in policing ebay? As a rule, I don't get involved it something doesn't affect me. But I very often report excessive keyword spamming/misleading titles as I sell quite a bit of stuff and it does directly affect me. If I see a seller being dishonest, I want to expose him and get him off ebay - the buyers he's screwing over are also potential customers of mine. Mock, if you would like to explain your position on this (since your the one who made the remark) I'd like to hear your take on things. BTW I did not report the auction in question, but I don't hold it against anyone who did either.

That's where I got mine I still have to call it "buying a set" though, but they weren't out for profit.... true.

I like the reply to this guys question...
Blackjack replied to chrishicks's topic in Auction Central
The page is back up - here's the copy/paste: Sellers may charge reasonable shipping and handling fee to the final price of their item, providing that this fee is disclosed up front in the listing. A shipping and handling fee can cover the seller's reasonable costs for mailing, packaging and handling the item. Shipping and handling fees cannot be listed as a percentage of the final sale price -
I'm still kinda "on the fence" with these issues. I've been using Mame for years and I did buy a complete set at one point just to be sure I had everything. One thing I'm sure of though, if you profit from Mame.... you should donate some of the proceeds back into the Mame project dumping fund.

Chickybaby......... eBay policy is that you may add a "reasonable" handling fee, but your intention to do so must be stated in the auction. In other words, the guy saying "flat $5" is fine, but then adding a handling charge to that $5 is not. If you buy 2 of his items at a flat 5 shipping each, the shipping TOTAL had better be no more than 10 or that is a violation. The ebay page where it says this is down at the moment, but when I'm able to access it again, I'll send the link. -
This is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in my life (since I never bought a cuttle cart). I hope you'll take paypal
