  1. I believe he's legit! He just emailed me back and said he would prefer that I pick up the cart and pay him in person just to be sure nothing bad happens during shipping.
  2. OK, he originally had River Patrol in with all of his games, someone told him it was worth a lot and so he relisted the same lot without it. No side deal here. Nothing to see.... Move along
  3. mcgrail0007........... you got a link for that completed one? Just curious about it. Completed search doesn't turn up text from the descriptions.
  4. I don't plan on winning actually, I just want to see if he's up for an "in person" exchange or if he's scamming. Of course, if I do happen to win........... nah, never happen
  5. He's got a pic of it in another auction he's running too. I just emailed and asked if I could pick it up and pay him in person rather than having it shipped. Let's see how that goes.
  6. Actually, I was informed on another thread just yesterday that "Nothing escapes notice anymore", which I happen to disagree with. Funny thing..... I had this waterworld in my watch list and forgot about it because of an appointment I had today. I saw the title of your post and went on a 15 minute cussing spree because it reminded me. Oh well.........
  7. As far as the reference to Basketball adjusting it's skill to match the player.... this feature has been used in some of the modern titles. Unreal Tournament series for one. It's an option you can toggle on/off.
  8. The original heavy sixer joysticks had yellow paint. The later sticks had orange paint. The "Vader" units came with all black sticks.
  9. I use 3 windows for a snipe and don't condider it a good one unless it's less than 8 seconds from the close. That's on a 56k too
  10. I actually got an offer to go to Japan next year, that would be cool to pick up a couple carts to bring home with me.
  11. I'm curious what countries the 2600 was released in. For instance if I wanted to collect a cart or two from EVERY country they were released in, how big a job is this? Ones I know of: US Canada Brazil UK Germany Australia What other? It seems like someone had a cart from Turkey on here a while back.
  12. UPS automatically insures their packages for the first $100 for free. Buying insurance would be redundant and unnecessary.
  13. The seller just told me about the circuit boards in the pic. He said taking the cart housing off is a neat trick you can do to your carts to make them smaller for easy storage I wonder which 18 of the carts he killed?
  14. Just a pokemon game and a teletubbies video
  15. Please be careful when posting your auction finds. If it's a rarity that's hidden in the description (these aren't) you'll end up really pissing off a board member or two that's been watching it & hoping nobody notices. Just imagine, you're winning a lot of games with a hidden R9 cart in it for just $15 and along comes someone on the last day and posts it here for everyone to see........ ouch! I know you didn't do quite the same thing since the games were clearly listed in the auction title for all to see, but it still makes me nervous every time I see one of these posts.
  16. I was thinking about getting a PAL system so I could extend my collecting/playing grasp and I was wondering a few things. 1) Modern ntsc TV's can play a pal game thruough a pal console - correct? 2) Are Australian pal carts/systems the same as UK 3) Will I need an electrical transformer due to different voltage requirements? And are there any "unseen" issues I may have to deal with? Thanks for any advice.
  17. I was checking out that paddle jitter tutorial you posted the link to earlier - Awesome by the way....... And I found the Star Trek Joystick Overlays that I'm assuming you made. Are you going to make these available to the public.... they're pretty cool
  18. I'm still upset about the whole Pokemon thing going away
  19. Sounds like I may have a playstation in my near future I think I'll get guns for my snes & genesis in the meantime though. Thanks for all the input.
  20. Collectors come and go from every area of collecting. YOU just happen to see more leaving than coming. I just started "collecting" Atari a few months ago and I'm on FIRE! I just found my first R9 cart and I'm hopelessly enthusiastic about my collecting, and it's snowballing...... I just got my first Jaguar last week. Actually I believe that this is only the dawn of the Atari collecting. Most of us that fondly remember it from our childhood are in our mid 30's. It seems that when people get to their mid 40's they REALLY start to show an interest in their favorite childhood memories, plus they have a lot more cash to indulge themselves! *Note* I say I just started collecting a few months ago - I've been into classic arcade gaming/emulation for years, and was a lurker on these boards for quite a while. My general interest in classic gaming ( and having to start over from scratch due to losing everything I've ever owned in a fire last March) has led me to the Atari 2600 - my first ever home video game (if you don't include pong, but who collects pong). Have NO FEAR.... It's alive and well and growing every day. Of course I would also like to offer you a "reasonable" price for your collection if you see it otherwise
