Looking for info on vintage coin-ops and pinballers
Blackjack replied to Fixitguy74's topic in Arcade and Pinball
Try looking at Marvins for the motorcycle game http://www.marvin3m.com/arcade/index.htm#driving Here are much better pics of the one you were looking at. http://www.marvin3m.com/arcade/mocycle.htm In fact, if you're into pre-video arcade stuff, you'll love the place. For Pinball its www.ipmdb.com -
IMO, they are all art.... good or bad, no matter how many people got together to create it. Large games are a collection of art..... musical, literary, and graphic.

Are their any Diablo II fans on AA?
Blackjack replied to theking21083's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I've played it through a couple of times... good game. Almost always Barbarian. I put a lot of points in jump attack, it works very well. Bonus for me..... there was an old movie about a demonically posessed little fetish doll just like in this game. I saw it when I was very young and it gave me nightmares for years. I relish killing every one of those little bastards. -

Unfortunately, it's not worth a whole lot. You'll find label condition paramount to value, and being that it's not a very "fun" game (not many people want it just to play), you've got a very limited group of people that would be interested in it. Since you don't enjoy the game yourself, my suggestion would be to post it in our marketplace to the highest offer or to trade for a few games you would enjoy. I'm with the previous poster that put a value around 20 bucks and that's probably just a tad generous..... never know though. -
You can reconfigure the controls for any specific game. While in the game hit "TAB" and then using your arrow keys select "Input (this game)". You can then assign any control configuration you want. But..... Frontline is a very special game The controls were so unusual! It had an 8-way positional spinner that also had a push function. I have not found a control configuration yet that I find truly acceptable for this game, and I'm using a Slik Stik Classic

Yes it does.... great game btw.

Star Fire...... the best homebrew imo. Medieval Mayhem if you like warlords.

You won't have a problem with ebay over it.... they might open up "dispute moderation" or whatever they're calling it these days, but if everything is as you say, you'll have no problem.

The 2600 DESERVES a port of Archon! This needs to be done by someone.

The bidding went a little high for that one BUT..... The guy you bought it from is TOP NOTCH! I've bought several things from him, and have never been disappointed. If he forgot to include the video adapter, just email him and let him know, I'm sure he'll send you out one. Or (and I prefer these) you can get a coax adapter right here in the Atari Age Store for 3 bucks. http://www.atariage.com/store/index.php?ma...;products_id=42 As far as joysticks, I would check the same guys auctions in a couple days and see what he has, or just email him and ask him about a couple (that way you can both avoid ebay fees). He rebuilds his joysticks with new switches and does a good job. If you buy just any old joysticks off ebay, you'll probably get worn out ones that you'll have to rebuild. Or you could just post a wanted ad in the marketplace forum here. Somebody will shoot you a good deal. ..... and welcome to Atari Age!

Highly anticipating your work! Very Cool.

Just how much is Boulder Dash® worth to you?
Blackjack replied to Andrew Davie's topic in Boulder Dash® Development Blog
I'd honestly just have to hope for the rom, but it's a trick question in my case since I'm so frickin poor. If I won the lottery or something, I'd love to pay a hundred bucks and support the community, but now I have to worry about things like keeping the electricity on and getting food. -
That would be "Piranha". Mame's got it, look under puck man clones.

Hell, I'm still running .83 It's got all the games I love working just right. Derek..... about having to reset the controls: I remember I had that problem once..... I'm thinking maybe my cfg file was marked "read only". I'm sorry I don't remember more than that, it was a long time ago. Maybe poke around in there and see if any files are read only. Also open mame and go to options>directories and make sure that your directories are set to the correct path.

Colecovision HSC Week #3 - Defender
Blackjack replied to theking21083's topic in ColecoVision High Score Club
13,850 I have never been good at any version of defender. Not even in the arcade 25 years ago. -

Colecovision HSC Week #2 - Squish'Em Sam
Blackjack replied to theking21083's topic in ColecoVision High Score Club
Probably my final entry. Once you get to level 5 it doesn't go any higher or get any harder....... and the last few times I got killed, I think they were VERY questionable calls! The monster was nowhere near me. 214,220 -

Pinball Nirvana.... Full Size Dual Monitor Simulation Cab!
Blackjack replied to Blackjack's topic in Arcade and Pinball
True enough.... it will never replace real pinball, that's impossible. But I think it probably does what it's supposed to well. I'm a huge pinball fan, and I really love playing Pinmame. It's not the real thing, but it's surprising how much you can "get" into old tables you remember in simulation. Add to that the "nudging" effects that this cabinet allows, and a much more realistic simulation than on a regular computer monitor, I think it's a great thing for pinball. My slik stik and Mame will never replace the arcade games I love, but I can't have them so I'm happy with what I've got, and it's great. btw.... they licensed visual pinball from the creator to base this simulator on ( I read it on wikipedia "visual pinball") -
