  1. Another vote for the Genny. I refer to the CX-40 as the crippler. Tac-2 is Ok if it was bigger.
  2. Me neither unless I just forgot. I had to stop collecting hardware variants and focus on carts. I do like those switches.
  3. Yes, Atari's headquaters was in Sunnyvale. Was this made there? Probably not important.
  4. Stargunner bundled in a trade/sale two years ago. Scored a Pigs in Space last month for $5.
  5. The flea markets I go to have lots of game sellers so there is competition. I really only look for 2600 stuff so I cannot claim anything about prices of the overall market, but most of them were willing to haggle and prices I get are fair. I think the Nintendo stuff is a little pricey especially the handheld stuff. I've never had one mention Ebay. I think that is more a tactic of the non-gamer person who is just selling whatever they got. I always try to have cash in hand and I mean visible but not flashing too obvious. Cash is king.
  6. I'm focused on 2600 from now on. I still have a Genny and NES for a few favs but I got rid of everything else a few years ago. I now concentrate on loose carts in the wild. I wouldn't mind getting an old PC (Atari or TI) to fiddle with. I treating them like lovers, where I've had a bunch good, bad and awesome, some were new some were used, some were locked in the closet and taken out occasionally to share with a friend but now I'm just bagging what I can from flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales.
  7. My wife got me this last week and I'm surprised I haven't melted my PS3 yet. I rented it for a couple days at release but really got into it this last week. I lovin it, the phone is not annoying, the game flows better and switching between characters is great.
  8. Forgot about car jumping. I had a lot of fun doing bailouts in Vice City, not the best idea in V.
  9. I had to take this back to Redbox cause I have to study for a test tomorrow otherwise I wouldn't get anything done. I'll probably get after a price drop or rent it again. I like the Idea of renting so I can remove the temptation of mis-allocating my time. However the flow of the game is real nice and the phone doesn't bother me. I liked reloading from a save and just coming into the day to day routine instead of getting out of bed. The environment is awesome! I feel like I know my way around from playing San Andreas. I did a couple of the side character missions. I thought GTA IV was a little clunky but I didn't really like III either. I think I'm a West coast GTA'er. However, Vice City may have been the most fun.
  10. I used to see crazy Tetris patterns after late night/ early morning sessions. I would go home to a friends parents house to crash after a party and we would munch out and play a few rounds of Tetris. I think it was because it was a dark room .
  11. Got this one waiting for me in the Redbox. If I have to answer the GD phone all the time its a no go. May as well make me do virtual taxes and go tho the dentist. I miss the rampages from Vice City. I also miss Pizza boy, taxi driver, ambulance, fire and vigilante missions.
  12. Maybe EA getting an exclusive with the NFL was the final straw. I liked Blitz for its simplicity.
  13. I found a converter for the GG once at a thrift for a dollar. It was in a weird place in the store like the stocker didn't know what it was. I had never known about them and wasn't sure if it was what it was. I had also found a few complete MS games a couple years before. I think I played them just a couple times and sold it with a good size GG collection. I really like the way Sega always tried to make sure you could always play games after you bought the newer console.
  14. Put one on your dash board or desk at work. People will say "I remember these". Once and a while they will say "I got a box of that stuff in my attic, do you want it?" Happened to me more than once.
  15. Had an ADAM for a weekend. My wife paid $200 for it at a yard sale. I really didn't wan't it but she insisted that I would like it, as I wasn't with her to scrutinize and haggle properly. it was a nice set up and large. But, it didn't work as they said of course, powered up, displayed video, then goboldy gook. Heard this was a RAM issue and gave up. The value was in the accessories. Don't remember all of them but it was pretty much every crazy controller for Coleco in the box a couple hard to find disk drives and 60 or so games mostly complete. I flipped it ASAP for a $25 profit. That was a close one. But another AA member and Coleco fan in a nearby town got a great stuff to fill out their collection. I also struck out on a TI-994a, but that was only for seven bucks or so. Scored a small mountain of Sinclair stuff for $50 a while back. Had a little fun with it for a little while. Then sold it to another AAer for $50. Always got my RADAR on for the good stuff though.
  16. I really only get stuff to use and don't like to delve into repairs and tracking down the obscure peripherals that make it cool. I'll get something, play with it for a while, then it's sold or traded. Just don't have room for everything.
  17. I think you are right. White with little calculator keys. Glad I passed.
  18. Had a TRS-80 color computer in my hand today at the thrift store. I've bit on vintage PC's in the past with some mixed results. It had the box and RF hook up but no power supply. $24, I had to pass. I don't see a lot of PC's, so it was kinda hard to do. My friend down the street had a COCO2 when I was a kid, and I thought it was alright considering I didn't have shit. How much vintage stuff do you guys see in your neck of the woods?
  19. I have yet to find anything wrong with the old systems. I feel that its limitations are part of the appeal.
  20. Just checked my TV's. I guess they don't have video out anymore.
  21. Connect the Stella to the TV since this already works. Then connect the output composite of the TV to the VCR. Or changing the menu settings on the VCR input from cable to antenna.
  22. Pac-Man. Never liked it, any version. Never caught the fever. I did like the song and cartoon though.
