  1. Visited the Dothan AL Flea Market (Sallies I think) and saw a big box full of super dusty woodies (sixish) Two other boxes of games. Scored a "Alpha Beam With Ernie" for $1. This was my second visit to this market last time was last fall I believe, and I think the two boxes of stuff were there last time. The third box had the VCS in the matching woody console case and could tell it was all from one owner with a boxed tele-games joystick and lots of manuals. Turns out this market doesn't have an ATM! Good for me though got a strict budget.
  2. I'm making a new rule for my game room. When ever someone says KABOOM! they must yell it. Check your label the ! is there for a reason.
  3. Did there used to be a PC gaming forum? Just curious. Don't remember, maybe i just imagined it. Don't PC game much anyway.
  4. I snatch up Activision games with good labels when I see them, weather I have them or not. I've got a few that are just pristine.
  5. Sears VA II. Very robust feeling design, controller ports on the front.
  6. Have you tried another Vanguard? Not a hard game to find a another copy of.
  7. This appears to be a few years old but is fun none the less. http://mightygodking.com/index.php/2008/04/21/fun-from-yesterday/
  8. Or someone who only collects upside down labels
  9. I like the bright colorful ones as well. When ever I see an Activision with a pristine or even decent label I get it if the price is right.
  10. Scored a Stargunner yesterday form a vendor at a flea market. I was unloading all my nintendo stuff for cash and got 15 titles in the trade.
  11. Cool topic. I picked this up a couple years ago just for the prizmatic jewel case. I may have to give it a spin!
  12. I'm into silver linings too. Maybe someone will remember that they got some stuff in their attic, bust it out play it for a bit then pass it on in some way.
  13. I usually reconfigure them, PITA and it essentially makes it into a comparable PSX or DC controller. Most 'tarded controller ever.
  14. Sega Bass Fishing. Best damn fishin' game in the world, ever!
  15. Do the computer thing alone, and keep all the profits. He already expressed that he does not want any part of it so leave him out. Start another venture (name of business, ebay profile etc.) and continue doing video games exclusively under your previous agreement. Do a little research and find out what the best built machines are and avoid the inferior ones until you get some experience, reputation and clientele for the more niche items. Apple, Tandy and TI are pretty good but ADAM and Sinclair are a little finicky but have unique accessories that a people really want. Buy low sell high just like stocks. But try to offer a guarantee or exchanges. Friends are friends but business is business.
  16. I decided a couple of years ago to get rid of a lot of stuff, just don't have time. I centering on the 2600. I decided that I'd rather say "I had one of those, it was fun, but I sold it" than say "I got one of those in a box somewhere and I haven't played it in a long time". I got three boys now and my stuff couldn't compare to the amount of stuff that they have/need. Consider yourself fortunate to have those close to you that you cant waste away all your time with games even if it is really fun Maybe start a game night fellowship thing at your church, a lot of the classics are fairly wholesome.
  17. Doom. but for some reason not all controllers allow you to sprint?
  18. So Dead nation was one of my picks from the puny list of games they offered for the...whatever you wanna call it. But any way I'm havin fun with it. Its an overhead shooter kind of a throwback a la Contra. I don't get to play games a lot so a mindless basher like this is good for me at times. Have not tried the milti player or explored any hidden/unlockables. Anyone else playing this?
  19. Most thieves are stupid and will crumble under scrutiny from law enforcement. If a list of games are reported stolen and they show up at gamestop or a pawn shop proper paperwork can lead to an arrest. The law will investigate and maybe find the person who also stole your TV, game console(s) as well as other valuables after they broke into your home. Police have a hard-on to catch thieves so one should always report criminal activity even if you think there is no chance of recovery. I don't think it has any correlation to the low prices they offer for games, but will help solve crimes. I had $250 worth of school gooks stolen and was not gonna report it but my girlfriend insisted. Sure enough two months later I start to get restitution checks in the mail after they caught the guy. The books also did not have serial numbers.
  20. I got rid of the best tube tv i ever had last year it had 3 composite, 1 RF and a component that was so warm that I think I like it better than digital. Anyway got sick of movin it so its gone.
