Come to think of it I did just recently acquire P2 in Jacksonville for $2 and it did not work very well either. But persistence did get it going, however it soon locked up after a few minutes. I was using a Sears Video Arcade II and the slot connection seemed very iffy. I haven't cleaned it yet as I was just going through a stack of new carts and was just sampling. I'll check on the heavy later maybe.

I don't think I've ever come across a cart that I couldn't get working with a little alcohol or contact cleaner. I probably have a few duds I just can't recall.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Cobra Commander replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I made the rare Goodwill score recently. 2600 Mouse Trap Millipede Dig Dug Skate Boardin' Raiders of the lost ark $2.99 each. First I've seen Atari stuff at a Thrift in a minute. Then I was in Jacksonville FL yesterday and got some stuff from the Ramona Flea Market. Deadly Duck M.A.D. Thunderground Pitfall II Eggomania I saw lots of Video games there and you can get a cold beer while you shop. -
Its an improvement over the standard crippler controllers. Very solid though. A little small for my meat hooks.
-
I think the 2600 was made more for the coffee table than the entertainment center, hence the short controller cords and long RF and power cord. Measure twice cut once. sorry bout your luck.

Armor All. I haven't heard that name in a while.

If its something really good and it's in plain sight, then I'll grab i. Otherwise i wait till late because you don't have nosy people staring at you while your searching. You have to remember, the trash truck doesn't run here till around 5 a.m. so most people don't get their trash out till late at night. Anything from 6 p.m. on up. I wait till midnight because that way, I'll know it's al out. Hell i was out a few nights ago and it was like 3 .am. and there was a guy tat was just now finally bringing his cans out to the edge. As for darkness, we carry 2 large mag lights. Most of the streets have lights anyway, so it's never really dark I have little shame, the early bird gets the worm. -

1 am, its too dark at that hour. I do that that shit in broad daylight. Much easier to see, but when opportunity knocks darkness be damned. Nice score. -
Favourite Box Cover Art

Super breakout cause I like the astronaut playing raquet ball? Basic Programing would make any 10 year old think crazy things were possible if you could get this cart. -

I was looking through my meager few boxed games and noticed this doorbuster price from Revco. I got this game at a Pensacola thrift a year and a half ago. No telling when it was last at Revco. Anyone else got any "for the low" retail price tags on their games.

How about a photocopy. It probably look better.

Exactly. True dat, the magic of editing. But there was at least one dude who wanted to blow Billy Mitchell.

War based combat games........Bleh!
Cobra Commander replied to VideoFever1982's topic in Modern Console Discussion
This is my total guilty pleasure of video games. MoH, CoD, Ghost Recon I love that shit. I never buy new though. I get a new game put it on the hardest level and ware it out. Then it goes on the shelf. Then I don't play a FPS for six months. I almost always play WWII games, just cause I think the weapons are cool. If I could just get new levels that would be cool, I want digital distribution.
