  1. I watched this one today, viewed it instantly on Netflix (totally awesome technology). I liked it, but I think that Billy Mitchell is a total lammer, what a chump. The guy doesn't even play a game in the movie, he's in a room with a load of classic games and he doesn't even play, weak. The other dude Steve Wiebe is a total class act.
  2. Are there any new ones still available? How reliable is the Xbox overall?
  3. Thanks for the responses guys here's some more pics and descriptions. The box has a tare but the controllers are nearly new, with pack-in Super action baseball with inlays and manuals. Haven't been able test this due to problems with the Memory Board issue on the Adam. Extra controllers, the Super action controller has a Super action football inlay. This box has liquid damage but the hardware is in good shape. The case has been chewed but the games are in good shape, there are a bunch of manuals for games I don't have. This controller doesn't have the pack-in game Slither.
  4. I cleaned out my local joints years ago, some still have N64 and newer stuff. The chain "Cash America" has two stores in town and they never have shit. However, the local guys have old stock from years ago that didn't sell that can be had for fair deals. Always ask for stuff that's not on display. I've bartered glass work for a Game Gear where I replaced the glass on top of a display with left over plate from my old job that I got for free. I've also stopped in shops while on road trips and had one place almost give me a couple PS1 jewel case games. I was probably the first person to show any interest in them for a while so they were likely glad to see them go.
  5. My wife picked up a Coleco Adam a few weeks ago. Unfortunately it locks up about half the time when I play a game. I think there's a problem with the memory board. I'm not a huge Coleco fan so I not thrilled about repairing it. However, it has lots of extras like a roller controller, Atari adapter, super action controllers, driving controller, 5 1/4" drive, and a bunch of games. Most of the peripherals are in the boxes still. these are the games. Frenzy Ladybug Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom Mr. Do Cabbage Patch Kids Donkey Kong Zaxxon Gorf Donkey Kong jr. Time Pilot BC's Quest for Tires II Grog's Revenge Star Trek Carnival Space Fury Root Beer Tapper Looping Smurf Rescue in Gargamel's Castle Subroc Pepper II Space Panic Venture Congo Bongo Choplifter I'd like to part with the lot as a whole but am willing to separate it out if necessary. Shipping will be a pain due to the size. Anyway here's a pic Feel free to ask questions or additional pics.
  6. Sega Saturn Theater of the Mind Really long saturn commercial
  7. I live in a college town, so a couple times a year when the kids vacate the city they leave tons of stuff behind. In fact the laptop that I'm posting on right now as well as the table its on both came out of the trash. I've also scored 2 PS2's, a DreamCast, 2 20GB Ipod's, an Ipod mini, DVD player for the bedroom, a Kenwood CD player and numerous plastic storage items that students often use in their temporary housing. Most of the apartments rent the big roll back construction dumpsters so it makes the dumpster diving easy. My entire family participates in this, and we have a blast. On several occasions my sister and wife have found bags full of brand-name girls clothing with the tags still on, some of this stuff ended up at "Plato's Closet" resale shop. Last April they found the remnants (smelly jars full of chemicals) of a meth lab in a tool bag and promptly called Crime-Stoppers. This made us $450.00 in snitch fees. We've also found wallets with gift cards and a little cash, jewelery. The thing is the students can't fit this stuff in their Hondas so they just toss the stuff, or they go home in April but their lease isn't up till August, and they just leave their stuff for the one roommate or landlord to deal with. I don't dive at a individual residence but will stop and look if there is a pile.
  8. Games for Less on Apalachee Parkway in front of Wal-Mart. The prices are a little high but I think they are pretty fair considering how long he has to sit on some of the stuff. There is not much Atari stuff lots of commons and occasional Jaguar controller hear and there. I shop there cause he (George the owner) is the only locally owned shop. He had another store near Kilearn but consolidated this year. The Flea market and Goodwills' are hit or miss.
  9. I tried it a few years ago. I think it didn't work for me either, because I undid it and now the sound is gone. I just put it on the shelf and there it sits.
  10. While Tapeworm is not rare I always find joy in finding a third party game other than Activision or M network. I actually found it at my local game store for $1.99.
  11. The Wikipedia info for Tandy is interesting, a former leather company like Coleco. There was a "Tandy Computer Services" storefront here as recent as 2001 where I bought a new PS for the Compaq PC that I had at the time.
  12. Get a friend to beat on in some activision boxing. HSC or other two player action is always great.
  13. I sometimes buy stuff that I'm not sure about. Especially if the label is really good and the price is right. I upgrade my Activision stuff whenever I can, or if I find the occasional common CIB in the wild.
  14. Sega Bass Fishing is the greatest game ever, not really but its superfun. Get a fishing conrtoller though.
  15. Theres never enough time, but the games wont spoil so you can play them many years down the road.
  16. Sounds to me like the dream job.....And you quit??? Steve http://www.xanga.com/Atari_Man Ya I quit to go to school full time.
  17. I've gone to work, loaded my truck, then gone home to play San Andres. My boss never gave me enough work to do or would not order all the materials and then send me to do a partial job just to keep me busy. I would go home to eat up time so I would get off at close to regular time. I've also got laid on the clock several times as well as gone to job interviews. This all ended when they installed GPS trackers. I've since quit that job.
  18. Dreamcast mouse for $1.99 and fisson(fishing) controller for $2.99, but passed on the giant, green DC arcade controller. This was at the San Destin,FL GW.
  19. Woodgrain would be asking to much? wouldn't it?
  20. It'll pay off in spades for you. I have a pretty good relationship with my local store owner, he knows I'm a cheap bastard, and I know he has a business to run.
  21. I found one like that at goodwill, it didn't work with Duckhunt on the Yobo. I dont know if it was the Yobo, the TV or the zapper that didn't work? I thinkin' of takin' down a liquor store with it though.
  22. The vids are cool, you should just get a Krokodile cart.
