What 2600 game made your hands hurt most playing
Cobra Commander replied to Spud's topic in Atari 2600
I second that. Nothing says "thumb cramp" like Activision Boxing. - Jason 843185[/snapback] even with a genny controller, this game actually makes my whole forearm hurt. -

Porky's -
Sorry bout your luck. I've decided to only buy the DC exclusives, Unless there real cheap. I'm only buying localy so its easy to return if I cant get them to work. As long as Sega bass fishin' keeps working the world will keep turning.

how often do the cartridges give you problems?
Cobra Commander replied to awsomo3000's topic in Atari 2600
this is some good stuff I spray it in the bottom of a little glass jar (baby food or relish) with my hand over the top to keep it from shooting out the top, and dip a swab in and scrub a little. its also a lube witch is great too. -
Pretty cool, I like the old graphics in the background.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread

Intelligent Qube, one of my favs, regularly goes for around $50 on ebay. I remember a full ad blitz for this game upon release, it was suposed to be Tetris for PS1. I guess people didnt want puzzle games in 1997. The music is great, very dramatic for a video game. -
Intellivision II controllers
Cobra Commander replied to Cobra Commander's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I'm thinking of moding a PSX controller (since thats all I have extra) but will add a switch or two. -
Did anybody make 3rd party controllers for these systems? I got one the other day and love the graphics and sound, but these controllers suck. I might have to costomize it.

My 99 died, I never used it that much I was a minor curiosity for me. Been thinkin hard about getting another one with some games. The site looks cool i might sign up if I could get my machine goin again. Good luck.

Theres only one mom and pop near me they have 2 stores. The owner is real cool, I've scored some cool PSX longbox games at recently, and an intellyII with with 36 games with vioce synth for fair prices. Alot of his stuff is a little pricy for my tastes but I get some good deals now and then.

I've never had a problem with EB. There are 3 in my town, 2 in malls and one in a strip mall. I never shop at the mall stores, their employees are a little more ego inflated (altho I did get a GTA:SA on release day without a reserve there), and the stores are to small. However the other one in the strip mall is cooler you get honest oppinons and the employees tend to leave you alone aside from the standard "you need help" sort of lines. As far as pricing goes you have to realise its still a business, and if everybody trades in a copy of rainbow6 III a month after it comes out they will have a surplus of a crappy game hence the low price. Vice versa for a more desireable title. I rarely buy new games (save the hype) and stickers dont really bother me that much.

Sorry nevermind folks, got it licked. No screw, just pull and glue back.

I scored a Cosmic Creeps a few weeks ago at Goodwill, and finally got around to testing/cleaning/playing it this morning. However the PCB seems to be dislodged from its spot that it rests in and moves around, there dosent seem to be a screw hole on this type of cart http://www.atariage.com/label_page.html?LabelID=16 Whats the best way to open these carts without doing to much damage?

The Coming of the NES Clones
Cobra Commander replied to Great Hierophant's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Sounds cool, I got a Yobo and have noticed some minor irregularities. However I dont have a video capture card either so no help there. All in all I like the yobo way beter than the toaster as far as loading games. I moding a few toaster for better connections, but dont have a solid Nes for comparisons. I found my yobo famiclone at a localy owned new/used game shop, I've heard of people seeing them at flea markets also. -
Didnt get through on that link, and am not a Doom expert. I scored a PS1 Doom in the long-box the other day and when I popped it in and played I realized It has held up pretty well, and still has great gameplay. I might be becoming a fan of FPS's if there done well.

You might want to try a used PS1 version if you cant find it for PC. It used to bog down a little if you had to many units, but it might run a little better on the PS2. -
Well I just looked at my 2 DC's, one is manufactured: june 2000 WK made in China, and the other is, May 2000 SD made in Japan(I only got the later last month). To bad I dont have that disc to try out on the other system for a little experment. I think I'll just check release dates, and buy new. thanks.
-
How many of you have gotten a defective DC disc? I've only found one "Armada" but I got it at a local game store and was able to return it. Is it risky to buy new games from an auction, or is it better to get used games? thinking they would have been returned if they were defective. I only have a few DC titles and have been thinking of getting more, mostly just exclusives, but am a little leary of buying new games. How common are DOA games? Or is this a myth, and just a hardware issue?

Whats your favorite system to collect for?
Cobra Commander replied to sega saturn x's topic in Classic Console Discussion
2600, when I go some where I'm looking for 2600 games. what ever else I find is just a bonus. -
I remember Pipedream 3D in the store, wasnt it released in the long box? I'm sort of collecting long box PS1 games a little.
-
Pretty cool, seems kind of wierd though. Havent people been making homebrews for a while now? Why didnt they make it a contest for all the hobbiest to make a game for the new flashback? Its probably a tax write-off and they get a new game out of it, and meaby find some talent to recruit. Its good for the students to I guess to have a published game on your reseume.

Found a Tetris 2 (SNES) yesterday, its pretty good especialy sound-wise. The guy also had Klax for genny, but I didnt have enough for it. He wanted $7.95 for his 16-bit stuff, and I didnt have enough to try to talk him down on a bulk purchase. I think Bust-a Move (N64) will be my next puzzle pick up.
-
I loved Bust-a-move in the arcade, that and Klax. Klax I have on the Midway Arcade Treasures(PS2) I like the fart like sound effects. I'll have to look for bust-a-move, I think I saw it at EB the other day. I completely forgot I had Yoshies cookie. Great sugestions folks I have to keep my eye out.
